I loved these products - very easy to use and very tasty. I thought the beef and ale one was nicest. Will definitely be purchasing again - great for a midweek easy meal that can be prepared in advance smile

I couldn't get mine. No premier store in my area sold them sad

Also, would definitely recommend these. I'd love to see a Madras flavour and some different variations on curry!

Savoretti Mon 01-Feb-21 10:12:07

Beef and ale was delicious, pulled pork less popular here. I would love to try the chicken but couldn’t find it for sale

AliBingo Mon 01-Feb-21 10:12:21

We all liked these. I think they are probably a bit expensive for what they are but were good for an easy meal.

I particularly liked the ease of use.

The family all loved the beef casserole because it was so tender and tasty.

I would recommend these for a quick prep easy meal which appeals to kids.

I would love to see other curries and something like a chasseur, and even a chilli/bolognese.

louisethedisease Mon 01-Feb-21 10:16:04

I'm yet to find the sauces in my local supermarket. Not in stock yet.

Deedee75 Mon 01-Feb-21 10:16:38

1. Easy to use and prepare, with very little ingredients to add.
2. We could only find the Steak and Ale sauce in the 3 shops that we'd recently been to (I'm obviously avoiding any unnecessary shopping trips to search for the others elsewhere), but they really didn't enjoy it - there was a flavour and smell to the sauce that we all found quite unpleasant unfortunately.
3. Based solely on this particularly sauce, I wouldn't be able to recommend them.
4. I would like to try BBQ chicken.

If I manage to find another sauce, I will come back and comment again.

Eminybob Mon 01-Feb-21 10:17:13

I was only able to try the beef and ale flavour as that was the only one available at my local Tesco.

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? - the ease of use - really simple and probably cheaper than using fresh ingredients.

2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? The dc were not impressed, but to be fair they are very fussy generally.

3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? - yes even though I wasn’t a fan of the particular flavour we tried, I think the concept is good and it makes a nice thick casserole which is often difficult in a slow cooker.

4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? Maybe a chicken casserole or fajitas.

Overall I do plan to pick up some of the other flavours if I see them, but would not buy the beef and ale again.

Absolutely - they're an easy way to pre-prepare & cook a tasty meal that'll keep the majority happy.

4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

Firstly - I'd like my local supermarket to stock the four sauces, rather than just 2!
Maybe a bolognese/tomato based Italian type sauce or a creamy kind for pork.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to try these out!

outnumbered77 Mon 01-Feb-21 10:23:49

I could only find the chicken curry and beef and ale varieties in my local supermarket.

I liked that it was so simple to use. The sauce was also a good thickness and slow cooker sauces can be a bit too thin.

Yes I would recommend this range to others as it was so easy to use and very tasty.

It would be nice to try a BBQ one, and maybe a creamy sauce for chicken.

warnc007 Mon 01-Feb-21 10:24:24

Easy to follow instructions and easy to prepare. Like to use the slow cooker as it saves time in the evening so good to try some new products for it

Everyone enjoyed the flavours, no complaints at all from anyone.
3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?
The flavours were good, but they're quite expensive for what they are. I usually make things like this from scratch as it's healthier (and cheaper)

Chicken chasseur and a sausage casserole would be good

WeAreTheWeirdosMister Mon 01-Feb-21 10:25:02

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? The taste, I find a lot of things in the slow cooker can taste samey but these had a good flavour.
2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? That I bought pork, as we don't usually buy it!
3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? Yes, because I have had conversations in the past with friends about slow cookers making things taste bland and this is a good solution.
4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? Something veggie.

angel0071987 Mon 01-Feb-21 10:29:04

Couldn't find both flavours in our local shop so had to buy 2 of the beef and ale stews. Fantastic and easy to use.
Have to say didn't follow the instructions as didn't have time to brown off meat and fry onion. In my opinion that defeats purpose of one pot slow cooker dishes. So bunged it all in together. We added normal carrots, mushrooms and leeks too and the sauce. As we have a larger slow cooker than suggested I added a bit extra water as didn't want it to go dry. Cooked for 8hrs on low. As with all casseroles and stews due to condensation under lid adding probably wasn't needed and required thickening at end but absolutely delicious and lovely with dumplings added 40mins before end when temp ranked to high. Perfect served with mash.

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?
Easy throw in SC and come back home to full of flavour dish.

2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?
Yes. So simple to use. Means one packet and all flavour instead of using lots of ingredients. Not at all salty and whole family enjoyed.

4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?
Sausage casserole would be lovely and maybe a pasta style dish. Or perhaps a chilli one. Or fish. Lots!

3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?
No because they are expensive, not gluten free, not in recyclable packaging and expensive. The beef and ale one tastes too sweet.
4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

I wouldn’t buy this too often to be honest because I rarely eat meat and it’s just sauce not veg or anything so you’re just giving them a bowl of meat and sauce. much as they liked it

0ntheg0again Mon 01-Feb-21 10:34:55

I tried the beef and ale one as I couldn't find the pulled pork. I thought the flavour was a bit too strong and had to put some extra water in it. My kids seemed to like it though so will purchase again. Would love to try the pulled pork one.

Other flavours I would like to see is Mexican, chipotle or fajita and Indian curry ones.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer Mon 01-Feb-21 10:35:26

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?
Easy to use and saves time when you just want to throw everything in the slow cooker and get on with all the other jobs.
2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?
They liked the BBQ one - we made BBQ Jackfruit.
3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?
Maybe if you're pushed for time and want to be able to just throw everything in the slow cooker without having to fiddle with all the different seasonings etc. Sometimes I seem to do a lot of chopping and peeling garlic, ginger, turmeric etc for a 'quick and easy' slow cooker meal. With home schooling I'm definitely finding it harder to cook the way I'm used to.
4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?
Vegetarian or vegan flavours. Moroccan or Chinese inspired dishes would be good.
