  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

That all you needed to do was throw it all in the slow cooker.
  1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

Beef and ale - I added mushrooms and carrots. We didn't like the pulled pork as it was lacking in flavour compared to my pulled pork version
  1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

Possibly but they are somewhat expensive
  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

I liked how simple they were to use. I am a very lazy cook so I liked that you hardly needed many ingredients and you just shove it all in the slow cooker and its done. They tasted great too. The pulled pork was yummy and I was slightly worried my daughter and I wouldnt like the beef and ale - particularly the ale part but we loved it and it wasnt overpowering as i thought it might be.

  1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

How easy they were to use and how tasty they were.

  1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

I would recommend to people who might think they are more difficult to use than they think as they arent! I would also recommend the beef & ale as people might think its stronger tasting that it is.

  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

I would love to see beef/chicken/sausage casserole, a sweet and sour inspired sauce and a sauce that would go well with gammon.

Unfortunately my local big Tesco didn’t accept the vouchers so I was unable to try the sauces!

All flavours were available in the shop though.

I did try to email the insight team to let them know.

  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

How easy they were to use

  1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

Our boys liked the chicken curry flavour, though DH and I really didn't. The beef and ale flavour smelt delicious as soon as I opened the pouch and whilst cooking.

  1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

To be honest, no I wouldn't. The chicken curry sauce was watery and had hardly any flavour. DH's immediate comment was "this tastes like Mum's chicken curry!" (unfortunately this is not a compliment!). The beef and ale sauce was tasty but we can make a similar gravy ourselves with knorr stock pots, which are far cheaper per pot than this is per pouch.

  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

I'd like to try a range of chicken flavours - creamy sauces, honey and mustard, mushroom, leek and bacon as suggestions. Some people on this thread have suggested fish sauces and I'd happily try those too.

My family and I tried the chili con carne and the Beef and Ale.

  1. What I particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauce is that it is easy to use and turns the dish into a gourmet one. I particularly love the flavour it gave to my chilli.
  2. My family's favourite about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces is the flavours. We loved the chilli, mainly because it is a dish we would usually make and this really worked for us.
  3. I would recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others and I have already so. I think these are great because they save me a lot of time and preparation. So I can spend that extra time with my children
  4. I would like to see introduced other types of curries, and maybe a boeuf bourguignon one. Homepride could also have a range for the slow cooked meat.

  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? - Easy to use; I got them and my Dad actually cooked them on the days he provides childcare. he was able to do these whilst watching the kids.
  2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? - My parents really liked the flavours; the kids tried them but only had a little of each sauce.
  3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? I would recommend them as the flavours were nice (by all accounts) and my parents have gone and bought the two flavours they didn't try as part of the trial.
  4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? - I would like to see a vegetarian option of stew like an Iranian stew or Moroccan tagine

  1. Incredibly easy to use. So helpful to chuck it all in the slow cooker at the start of the day. Much easier than a powder mix like slow cooker packs I’ve used before.

  1. Quite hard to find them in shops. So far we’ve tried the chicken curry. DH and DS1 enjoyed it. The younger children and I weren’t so keen, don’t really like tomato in chicken curry.

  1. I would definitely recommend, for sheer ease of use. Am hoping the chilli one will be good but haven’t tried it yet.

  1. Maybe a chicken chasseur or creamy sauce. Or a vegetable tagine type casserole

@JustineBMumsnet

I received an email yesterday asking for feedback but just to let you know that I haven't received the voucher yet (didn't know I'd been lucky enough to be chosen Smile) I'll be back with feedback as soon as I've had the voucher and exchanged it for the cooking sauces. Thanks!

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?
Really easy to use and pretty tasty. We were asked to try the chicken curry and chilli con carne but I'm planning on buying the beef and ale and pulled pork ones after reading some of the comments on here.
2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? DD6 enjoyed the two we tried (chicken curry and chilli con carne) as they were quite mild. In the future I'd add some extra spice to the curry and chilli for me and DH.
3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? Yes, they're easy to use and handy to have in the cupboard.
4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? Something like a sausage casserole or something creamy.

We loved the beef and ale flavour, no others available here. We all enjoyed the full flavour of the beef and ale and would highly recommend it. Easy to use, full of flavour and can just be left to cook. Would like a chicken chausseur type or sausage casserole

Thank you for sending me the voucher, was great to take part. I could only find the beef and ale one in my local Tesco but would love to try the others.

  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? SO easy to use, no faffing about with a load of ingredients!

  1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? I didn't make a huge deal of the fact it was something new, I just put it down in the front of them and they ate it. DD6 ate it up and said was very tasty, DS3 didn't say much but ate it all. DH and I loved it.

  1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? Yes - makes life a lot easier, especially at the moment when trying to juggle a million things. Is a really god time to be coming out with products like this as parents / homeworkers are pulled in a lot of diections.

  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? Something for lamb - is my favourite thing to cook in the slow cooker.

Thank you again, Bippo :)

I really like the pulled pork (the only flavour I could get) would definitely buy again. My son aged 4 liked it too. Simple to cook and tasty.

I bought the chicken curry and beef and ale, as requested by the survey. I wasn't very keen on the curry one but the beef one was okay. I don't eat much meat so would have preferred a veggie sauce. They were very thick and it wasn't that easy to get the contents out of the packet as it had very gooey consistency. I had to pour water inside to 'flush' the dregs out so none was wasted! I added potatoes and vegetables to it. . We don't eat many hotpot/casseroles type of dishes so would only use a few times a year. I do like the Homepride brand ,in general, though.

I liked the fact that I didn't have to buy lots of ingredients and the flavour was really nice. I wasn't so keen on the fact that the directions advised pre-cooking the meat and onions, normally I just chuck everything in the slow cooker raw, so this did add to the preparation time and clearing up.

Despite looking in a few supermarkets, I could only find it in a bigger Tesco and only the Beef in Ale flavour. Everyone did enjoy it though.

I would recommend it to others as we all liked it, but if I was to buy it again I'd experiment to see if the pre cooking was necessary.

I'm really craving food from my childhood at the moment so would love to see something like chicken supreme or a lamb hot pot.

The sauces (puled pork and beef &ale) were really tasty although could not have been mistaken for homemade. They were easy to use and good to have on standby because it was literally a case of bung the packet in and run. I was disappointed the packaging wasn't recyclable though and it was that sort that you can't get all the sauce out and if you try and swill water around to get the last bits it all slops all over you. Small gripe though!

We loved the chicken curry the most - my two girls hoovered it up. I actually added some chunks of bell pepper about half an hour before the end of cooking and it was really lovely.

  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

  1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

The taste!

  1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

Yes absolutely. They are really easy and quick to prepare before chucking into the slow cooker. Anyone could do it!

  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

Maybe a pork recipe, or different curries.

  1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? Made us try new things in the slow cooker - we tend to stick to cooking the same few things in it so this was a good nudge to try some new flavours

  1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? So quick and easy to just chuck in before going to work.

  1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? Definitely the pulled pork, that was delicious. The beef and ale was a bit too strong and gloopy, the flavour was too concentrated for my liking and I like a bit more gravy. I’d prefer the packaging to be recyclable though.

  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? A curry, a stroganoff. Would a fish dish work in a slow cooker?

  1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

Something vegetarian would be good as well as more chicken sauces.

I would also like more shops to stock them, I could only get them in my local Asda & they were tucked away at the bottom of a shelf.

I managed to get the Pulled Pork and Chicken Curry slow cooker sauces from Tesco. The pulled pork was the easiest to make as all I had to do was place the pork in the slow cooker and tip over the sauce. The chicken curry was a little bit more involved as the chicken had to be fried off first. I also fried some onion, green pepper and mushrooms. All this was added to the pot and the sauce stirred in.
Both were extremely tasty but the pulled pork was my favourite. I served it in wraps with chips and it made a great weekend meal.
I would definitely repurchase.
