This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing Homepride Slow Cooker concentrated sauces. The sauces are available in Chilli Con Carne, Chicken Curry, Beef & Ale or Pulled Pork flavours.

Finally found the chicken curry and beef and ale in stock in my local Tesco. Too late to complete Homepride survey but thought I'd leave feedback on here anyway

I made the chicken curry. Really good - bit mild for my taste so would add chilli powder or fresh chilli next time. And maybe chopped red pepper. Chicken very tender and sauce good.

Quick to prepare. Tasty and good thick sauce.

Full of flavour and not too fancy.

Definitely. As above really. Tasty and easy.

So easy and convenient to use. The sachet made it very easy to ensure I got all the product out without having to fish around with a spoon like you do with a jar!

Great taste! We tried the chicken curry and the pulled pork and both were amazing. Lots of slow cooker sauces go watery during the cooking process but we didn't have that problem with these.

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

Would definitely recommend. They are the best slow cooker sauces I have tried. No loss of flavour, kept the meats succulent and not at all watery.

We tried the slow cooker pulled pork

I love how easy it is - just pour over the meat, being a concentrate it doesn't make the meal sloppy so the pork was just right.
The flavour was just right for the kids and us - smoky and sweet with just a touch of spice.
I have recommended to my friends and will continue to purchase.
I'm looking forward to trying the beef and ale casserole
I'd love to see a spag Bol too!

I particularly liked the fact that the sauce appeared nice and thick, it gave me confidence to think that maybe this small pouch could produce lots of sauce and flavour.

The Beef & Ale sauce was amazing! I put my meat in the slow cooker along with a bag of mixed casserole veg, cooked on high for 4 hours and then put it on low until we were ready to eat it. The sauce was delicious! It was really rich.

I have recommended the sauces to members of my family already and my sister is going to let me know what she thinks of the chicken curry one.

I would love to see the white wine sauce they produce currently as a slow cooker variety as chicken in white wine sauce is delicious!

Thank you for asking me to try these out, I have bought the beef & ale and chilli con carne ones myself now and am looking forward to see how the chilli one gets on!

Very late to comment on this - I couldn't get them locally so it had to wait until I went to a big supermarket. We tried the pulled pork one - it was very easy to use and everyone in the family liked it. However I do pulled pork in the slow cooker that's not masses more hassle, but tastes far better. So it was fine, and definitely quick and easy in terms of preparation, but probably not something I'd go back to. I've got one of the others to try too so we'll see how that one goes.
