ive struggled this week as DH is away and I've found it hard to get any time for myself what with aged dog and young dog plus extra poorly DD

my plan ( having seen myself in shorts) is to do every day next week to try to boost my exercise. I used to do it daily on top of all other yoga/exercise. Bloody hell!

@Sooverthemill I hope you feel better soon. Its good you've got family around but sounds tough.

Today I did Yoga to get the Juices Flowing which was a fab short flow.

Jumbojem · 11/08/2023 15:36

I'm still plodding through Revolution. Feels like it's taking even longer than Yoga Camp did! If I don't get a move on my plan of completing them all by the time the Jan 24 30 day comes out will fail.
I'm up to Day 21, which was 34 minutes long. I did sigh at the start when I saw that and half way through I wondered how long left. Then suddenly we were getting into shavasana (sp?) and it was ending. Anyone who likes a flowy one then this might be good one.
Off on holiday in a couple of days so yoga will be taking a back seat until sept for me.

Sooverthemill · 11/08/2023 20:57

Thanks all I feel a lot better now and did a 20 minute flow today which was so nice! Yoga is very good for my soul

2 days running I’ve done a10 minute Kassandra video which is outside on her deck. I envy her her lovely garden!

Thank goodness for your reminders @Sooverthemill ,sorry to hear you’ve been poorly xx. I’ve not been on the mat but back today with the new 10 minute Alia Wake up Neck and Shoulders on the app. Nice little one seated. I’ve read somewhere Kassandra is a little bit harder than Adriene which is tempting me. Thoughts anyone?

Sooverthemill · 16/08/2023 05:02

@Yogachick i do Kassandra a lot and yes I think her longer ones are tougher but not the shorter ones
and thanks!

any recommendations for yoga tops?
im going to start going to a yoga class but don’t have anything suitable for my top half.
At home I wear a uniqlo sports bra and gym leggings.
nothing too baggy so my head doesn’t get enveloped during downward dog!
had a look at sweaty Betty but it’s sooo expensive!

not wearing vest tops. I need a short sleeve.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 16/08/2023 08:41

Hello everyone - hoping I can join you! I really fell off the yoga (and exercise in general!) wagon for the last year after starting a busy new job and I'm really feeling the effects. I'm unfit and a bit stiff! I find daily (or nearly daily) yoga so much better than a long class once a week.

Did a v steep fell walk yesterday and need to ease my aching hips, so I'm going to try and find 20 mins of something flowy and stretchy from Adriene now. Looking forward to trying some of your other recommendations too, as Adriene's is the only online yoga I've tried.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 16/08/2023 08:43

@ihatethecold - I have a couple of great tops from BAM (bambooclothingcompany). They are soft and comfy, quite long and kind of ruched/ gathered at the sides so they cling gently and don't fall over your head!

ScottishBeth · 16/08/2023 09:51

Welcome @AllProperTeaIsTheft I think there's a yoga for when you're sore, which might be what you're looking for.

ihatethecold · 16/08/2023 09:54

@AllProperTeaIsTheft
thanks. I’ll take a look.
as for sore hips. Have a look at hip openers.
can be adapted if you are a little inflexible.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 17/08/2023 16:33

Hello everyone. I'm back again. Started YWA after a break of a few months. Tried a 10 minute yoga then runners yoga then a gentle yoga. Starting slowly then building up to the more rigorous routines. The runners yoga had a couple of useful stretches I have not done before.

Yogachick · 19/08/2023 08:08

@ihatethecold i would try one of the more fitted sports tops in Primark, they stay pretty much put as long as they’re not the baggy ones and aren’t a huge investment x

Yogachick · 19/08/2023 08:10

Have had a house full this month so practice has been sporadic to say the least found a very old Barbara Currie on YouTube for this morning, she’s very positive and gives a mixture of poses

Sooverthemill · 19/08/2023 09:46

@ihatethecold i rarely wear one ( I do it in my pjs) but I have a nice one from tk maxx.

Oh and no yoga today needed to get on fast with my busy day. Tomorrow! I’ve done Kassandra 3 days running though

thanks yogachick and sooverthemill. Im joining an outdoor class tomorrow with other people there. At home, I wouldn't bother. I bought a longer top from BAM in the sale and it's lovely. It won't move when I am upside down but also goes over my mum tum.

Yogachick · 25/08/2023 09:53

Don’t know if we’re still here? I haven’t been consistent as I’ve decided I need to work some strength training in, am 58 now and have to think about such things. I’m aiming for a day of strength ( old Davina dvd) and a day of yoga. I’m currently doing the Ritual series from the membership, 20ish mins and there’s a 5 minute meditation at the end of each. After a lazy indulgent day yesterday celebrating Brat Minor’s bday I feel very unclogged after Day 3-Core.It’s only a 7 day series so I may even actually complete it🙄

Sooverthemill · 27/08/2023 22:10

I am! Well I’m trying. I’ve been away this weekend but done short yoga sessions ( like 7 minutes) in hotel room
while DH sleeps! Will definitely be up for a longer session when im

I want to be but completely fell off the wagon. And really feeling the lack of daily yoga!

I think this happened last year- summer holidays are busy and time isn’t as free. September should hopefully see a surge..

7 min yoga sounds perfect!

happytobemrsg · 02/09/2023 11:59

Tentatively joining you all again. I’ve been quite unwell with stress so getting back to my mat is now a priority. I’m now going to two in person classes a week (a regular class & a restorative class). I’m also going to do YWA at least once a week. Might start working through Centre again & building my way back up to Move (my favourite but also more challenging I find).

Rummikub · 02/09/2023 12:32

Im very impressed with your plan. Hope you are feeling better x

Since I’ve stopped daily yoga I have noticed my anxiety has gone up and tolerance has lowered. I know I should restart Center too.

Thank you! I also have bad anxiety & everything was just easier to deal with when I was doing daily yoga. I’m not ready to commit to daily right now (I put a lot of pressure on myself) but given that the classes are an hour each I’m still getting the time in
