my plan ( having seen myself in shorts) is to do every day next week to try to boost my exercise. I used to do it daily on top of all other yoga/exercise. Bloody hell!

Thanks @Sooverthemill Sorry to hear dd is extra poorly. My ds is currently in hospital (thanks to a really stupid accident that could have been a lot worse) and I'm finding it hard to concentrate so I'm doing whatever random yoga video youtube suggests! Today it was a Kassandra sun salutation that was rather more energetic than I bargained for!

Tootootoot · 03/06/2023 20:06

I'd like to join, please! I used to do yoga regularly but stopped a few months ago and the aches and pains are creeping back in. I'm 50 and think I really need to get back in the habit in order to age without pain. Arthritis runs in my family and my lower back is often sore, and I suspect yoga will help greatly with these things.

Buttalapasta · 03/06/2023 20:14

Welcome@Tootootoot ! Daily yoga has really helped my backache.

Sooverthemill · 04/06/2023 08:24

Welcome @Tootootoot we are friendly on here ( I think)

so I did my core and hips which isn’t a weight loss one at all. I hate it has that for SEO. I felt energised and very happy at the end.And the sea!

Please can I join. Your "seen myself in shorts" comment gave me shivers @Sooverthemill 😱 Been a rough year with DS mental health and more. Struggling to exercise, haven't dared put shorts on. (Finally booked a holiday after putting it off forever due to worries about DS, who doesn't want to go, he's 18.)
Now need to get in shape and find more energy. Love Yoga with Adrienne so hoping this thread might help motivate me. Especially this week as DH away for work and DS has exams which he hasn't prepared for and the stress is going to be high. Any help welcome. Look forward to motivating each other.

ihatethecold · 04/06/2023 09:01

ive just finished Move and found the final day (30) just incredible.
just what I needed. I found myself having a little cry. I didn’t feel sad but I never let myself cry. Felt so clearing.
I did day one of Center but I didn’t like it much.
wondering if I should try a different 30 day instead.
I find myself getting figity and wanting to move when the starting section is too long.

itsnevertolate · 04/06/2023 09:29

Please can I join? I use to go to a weekly yoga class which stopped in January and I really need some motivation to get back into it. I recently had my picture taken on an evening out and I cried. I've tried getting back into yoga on my own but I just can't seem to get into it. I can't even touch my toes anymore 😞 I've downloaded the FitOn app which looks good. I just need a kick to get going.

ScottishBeth · 04/06/2023 15:55

Lots of new people! This is fab!

@Sooverthemill thanks for the new thread. Sorry to hear about your DD, I hope she, and you, are ok in spite of it all. And @Buttalapasta I hope your DS recovers soon.

Welcome @Mintybp @Tootootoot and @itsnevertolate Being here is a good thing to help keep up with regular yoga, so nice to see you all!

@ihatethecold a lot of people hate the final day, but I like it often. I tend to only do it if I've done the 30 days within (near enough) 30 days, as the journey is different. But it is nice to just be able to play with whatever feels right. Is Move the first 30 day series you've done? A lot of people found Center quite different, but the first couple of days there tends to be a lot of talking. Whatever you decide will be fine though!

I'm still working through Revolution, though I didn't do any yoga yesterday. Day 10 today was nice though. I think when I focus on my wrist placement I find it harder on my wrists. Don't know if I'm weird, doing it wrong, or if maybe that is the way to strengthen my wrists. It's very confusing.

@jumbojem (Hope I've got your username right from the other thread). I'm glad it's not just me who has issues with my foot slipping in Tree. Though I was worried about my trousers coming down!

egowise · 04/06/2023 16:03

Oh! I'd love to join!

I used to love doing yoga and Pilates, but I've not done any since lockdown.

I miss it and am noticing my body ceasing up, I'm mid-late 30's and would find it beneficial to get back into.

I'm a single mum to 3, working and doing master's. So life is very full, but I think squeezing this in will really help me mentally, as well as bodily!

Sooverthemill · 04/06/2023 17:32

Hello everyone! So lovely to see lots of new people.

Center gets better imo, try it for a few more days.
I struggle with MH too and yoga is my bright spot in often very tricky days ( my DD has several chronic illnesses and is bed bound and I look after her 23/7). I need to look after myself in order to look after her and yoga helps a lot

Repeated the yoga flow from yesterday which I intend to do daily. Felt very achy last night! That’s the first time through yoga in ages so I know I had really let it slip. Not helped by younger dog knocking into me yesterday ( he wasn’t looking at me he was looking at the cat in the garden)

Well youtube seems to be recommending me Kassandra's "elemental" yoga and I highly recommend it. Just 10 - 15 minutes and nice and varied.

YogaIsMyCalm · 05/06/2023 16:49

Hello everyone, can I please join?

I started doing yoga a few years ago, not quite every day but I try most days ot mix it up with other things. I also do Adriene's 30 day yoga videos and currently just done day 4 of home. I'm open to trying new recommendations though.

itsnevertolate · 05/06/2023 17:11

Just completed a easy (for beginners) 20 minute yoga flow on the FitOn app. I tagged it on the end of a cardio workout as a cool down.

Jumbojem · 05/06/2023 20:04

Hello! I'm still here but fallen a bit behind with yoga with being away half term etc
Sorry to hear of those of you suffering with either your own ill health or offspring with physical or mental health issues. I hope you all find time for some restorative peace on the mat.
I did Move and Centre a couple of times each and like both. But then decided to go right back to the original series, which I really enjoyed. I'm now on the second series (yoga camp) and am slowly plodding my way through. Up to Day 12 now. Some of them are a lot longer than Move/Centre and average 30 mins but a few are up to 40 mins. Today's was a breezy 22 mins tho thankfully as I got to the mat late and I do yoga before starting work.
I do like the look of that beach scenery though in that hips and core one @Sooverthemill. I'm missing Benji in the early ones as she didn't seem to let him join in the filming back then although he was around as she mentions dog hair on the mat.!

ihatethecold · 06/06/2023 08:00

Has anyone got YWA app?
is it worth having.
if you do have it can you access it in a laptop?
using my phone would be useless with my eyesight!

Sooverthemill · 06/06/2023 09:20

@ihatethecold I had the app up until lockdown ( I stopped purely to switch the money to the trussell trust as I felt it would do more good at the time). I really liked it and loved the extra content and would have it on my iPad and use the thing on my TV to show the screen on that ( I don't know what this is called, sorry). She adds stuff just for members which is very good and you now get less free stuff on YouTube that hasn't been on the app first. If I won the lottery I'd get it again

Repeated the flow. Really loving it

Thanks @Sooverthemill
im going to try a 7 day free trial and see how much I use it

Yogachick · 06/06/2023 11:29

@ihatethecold i have the app & love it,loads of members only stuff I’ve yet to try, super easy to find stuff, you can favourite practices and when you’ve completed a practice it marks it as complete on your personal calendar. There’s also an option to journal on there each day.
True Day 2 for me today-Trust. True was THE one for me ,when I felt like an actual yogi. Love it,am feeling better being on my mat again already. @ScottishBeth Revolution is a real strength builder,I’ll be doing that again sometime, a real workout 30 days 😊
Thanks for the video suggestion @Sooverthemill ,loving hugs for your day to day struggles especially with a poorly child. I darent even think about shorts and have acquired what I call a ‘Colin the Caterpillar’ roll of flab ,all those chocolate hob nobs in recovery taking up residence😞you think I’d know better at 57!

Yogachick · 07/06/2023 06:41

Early start for work this morning so did your Hips and Core one @Sooverthemill . That’s a cracker, gets a lot into 12 minutes,no extraneous chatter( sorry those of you who love Adriene’s rambling) hips dips were on my knees and balancing always a challenge, partly because my ankles and feet start to hurt really quickly. 4 day yoga streak for me😁

Sooverthemill · 07/06/2023 08:55

@Yogachick gakd you like it! I did it agin today as promised. It really does lack a lot in but there's no point when you think 'how much longer' as it's so short. And makes me want to visit Nicaragua

OP posts:
Buttalapasta · 07/06/2023 14:14

I'm so used to 10 minutes with Kassandra now that anything over 20 minutes feels never-ending!

Yogachick · 08/06/2023 08:49

Woke up at usual work time(530am) tho I was up late(for me) so ‘walked’ dog, elderly Boston so more of a slow meander as far as she’s inclined, then did another session of Build, the strength building program I’m working through with Jessica Smith, then Day 3 of True,Stretch, very needed after the strength session. Who even am I doing all that before 8?

Sooverthemill · 08/06/2023 11:22

And again. I think the repetition suits me at the moment as I don’t get distracted!
