ive struggled this week as DH is away and I've found it hard to get any time for myself what with aged dog and young dog plus extra poorly DD

my plan ( having seen myself in shorts) is to do every day next week to try to boost my exercise. I used to do it daily on top of all other yoga/exercise. Bloody hell!

Light Watkins is very talky so meditation was Calm this morning then Dedicate Day 7 with Adriene. Sweaty flowy loveliness in a mere 17 minutes 🥰

Sooverthemill · 18/07/2023 08:17

Two days running off a recent Kassandra morning session. Very good at waking me up!

I'm finally getting back on the yoga wagon but it's tough. Major building work so flat is in chaos plus high temperatures mean I have to do it before 8...did a nice Kassandra stretch this morning though.

ScottishBeth · 19/07/2023 14:01

@Buttalapasta I hope the building w9rk goes smoothly.

I have mostly been keeping up with daily yoga. Just missed one day on Sunday (due to extreme hangover). But I feel like I've been constantly playing catch up. So many days I've just managed 10 minutes at the end of the day. Better than nothing, but not what I want.

Anyway trying to refocus now. Once little one was down for her nap I wrote in my journal and then did Yoga for Loneliness. It was a nice practice with lots of nice stretches and just enough core work.

I'm going to have a few days different practices before I aim to get back to Revolution next week.

Jumbojem · 20/07/2023 21:11

Day 11 of Revolution for me today "Align". It was enjoyable, slightly different to the usual. An extend period of standing hip openers. Ouch, my upper glutes and outer part of my hips are definitely feeling it now. Adrienne stood on one leg and stretched the other one out to the side whilst holding her foot. I couldn't even contemplate this let alone attempt it!

ScottishBeth · 20/07/2023 21:20

Today I did Reunite With Your Body and it was so lovely! A nice flow which felt both stretchy and strength. @Jumbojem I remember that one. I liked it, but yes, that one shape is kind of impossible to even imagine!

Jumbojem · 21/07/2023 10:21

Revolution Day 12, tree pose, I had a breakthrough and got my leg to rest on my inner thigh on the right side. Still down in my calf for the left side but oerh6 yesterday's painful hip openers are actually taking effect!
Glutes still ouch from yesterday though, but in a good way.

Sooverthemill · 21/07/2023 14:19

I did a fast but stretchy kassandra in the room while DH started work. Overslept!

I’m ashamed to say again I’ve been not yogaing. The pain has risen To bite me on the butt so will be back to it tomorrow

notanicepersonapparently · 21/07/2023 23:22

Hi everyone. I’ve finished Dedicate. The final few days had some balances in there after all. I loved this series. My all time favourite was Move, probably because it was the first one I did. Dedicate may have trumped it though. I’m starting Move again to see.

ihatethecold · 22/07/2023 07:34

I loved MOVE. My first one also.
feel like im trying to recapture that initial feeling with the others series

did a core yoga video on Thursday. Really felt it yesterday.

need to get up and find one for this morning.
not sure what I need today!

Rummikub · 22/07/2023 11:49

Interesting notaniceperson.

I loved move too. I’ll have to remember dedicate as an option.

ScottishBeth · 22/07/2023 12:15

I did Sunrise yoga this morning, which was really nice. Followed it with 10 minutes meditating. It was all needed as I was exhausted and also first day of my period, so feeling a bit crappy.

Yogachick · 22/07/2023 19:43

I meditate every morning before yoga/ whatever movement I’m doing that day. Doesn’t work for me the way you do it @ScottishBeth ,even though that’s the correct way,the practice prepares you for the meditation (I’ve read it somewhere) Dedicate Day 8 for me,a practice I’ve been putting off but just what I needed today, low to the ground ,cooling my inflammation and calming my cotton wool stuffed brain. Bliss

Yogachick · 23/07/2023 15:50

Day 9 of Dedicate, love a bit of Kapalabhati breath so popped this on favourites. I too loved Move @notanicepersonapparently hopefully regular Dedicate will bring that buzz back if I’m consistent. I also remember loving Revolution.

notanicepersonapparently · 23/07/2023 17:01

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did @Yogachick At 20 mins they seemed easy to fit in.

ScottishBeth · 24/07/2023 17:56

I've read the same about yoga preparing you for meditation, @Yogachick but whatever works for you is the right way!

We've had a bit of a dreadful couple of days. Nothing major, but lots of little things. I missed yesterday, but managed a 15 minute yoga for posture, which was a nice one.

Yogachick · 24/07/2023 21:41

Day 10 Expand from Dedicate today

Yogachick · 25/07/2023 11:43

Day 11 of Dedicate for me today. No flying with the crow but a good base pose. Balancing as ever very tough as legs and ankles hurt . Frequent breaks for the pain. Nice practice

ScottishBeth · 26/07/2023 20:59

Yesterday I did Reunite With your Breath. It was fine, not very physical as you'd expect. I did enjoy it but wouldn't want to do it loads.

Today I did Yoga Joy which was so good. A full body flow and probably my favourite thing about yoga. It had that nice mix of strength and flexibility.

Sooverthemill · 27/07/2023 10:40

Had a couple of crap days so not practiced and feel the worse. Tomorrow!

Reading this has made me want to branch out a bit. I did every 30 day Adrienne offering I could find in lockdown but I struggled a bit with the fact that sometimes I would love that day’s yoga and sometimes not so much. I started writing a very brief synopsis of each day of the last one so I could repeat the ones I liked. What this means is I now do Day 27 from True every time as it is a non-stop flow and I know I enjoy it.
I think I would like to intersperse it with something else, not least as I’m using the same muscles each time . @ScottishBeth - is Yoga Joy an Adrienne one? Are there any other recommends- if I like a good stretch, to be moving and not lots of breathing work or chat?

ScottishBeth · 27/07/2023 16:00

Hi @Cathpot it's this one It's fairly fast-paced, I would say. Most of it is a flow, then a balancing bit and then knocking on heaven's door. I really enjoyed it. I think the flow section is all the sort of normal yoga - sun salutation type thing. I found it quite stretchy as well, I had just done a run and didn't feel the need to do any other stretches afterwards. I'll keep my eyes open for any other flow type practices and let you know.

@ScottishBeth Thankyou! That looks perfect , will try it

ScottishBeth · 27/07/2023 17:55

@Cathpot fab - let us know how you get on.

Today I did Yoga Rebirth or something like that. It was good. There was a section in the middle which was DD-3 legged dog-crescent lunge repeated about 7000 times - I had to have a rest in the middle I was knackered!
