ive struggled this week as DH is away and I've found it hard to get any time for myself what with aged dog and young dog plus extra poorly DD

my plan ( having seen myself in shorts) is to do every day next week to try to boost my exercise. I used to do it daily on top of all other yoga/exercise. Bloody hell!

I’m back with Adriene today for Lower back love as mine tweaked getting up yesterday. I was mainly attracted to Charlie because she had a weeks calendar and I like to be told what to do @Jumbojem . I will continue to mix her in with Adriene, her transitions are so creative and she actually demonstrates the ‘lesser’ version , rather than just say’you could do this’ . She also chats less, I know some people love Adriene’s chat but sometimes it’s a bit much for me.

ScottishBeth · 05/07/2023 10:40

I love Adriene's chatting away! She's so goofy.

I did Day 16 of Revolution. It was lovely. I really feel my hips and shoulders have opened up.

I have noticed recently that I think I have more shoulder flexibility since this super regular yoga. I can get much farther on this stretch.

Just dropping in here to say I feel amazing today! After a fibro flare inflammation riddled few days I could see no way I would get better& was seriously considering taking additional medication regularly to help the pain .3 days back on the mat, inflammation & puffiness right down,
pain back to normal manageable level, I have energy, brain fog reduced, I feel unclogged and well. Could be coincidence but I think not! Yoga , for me, brings the light x

notanicepersonapparently · 05/07/2023 18:19

Hi everyone. It’s been a while since I posted. I was away on holiday and couldn’t do any yoga as the hotel rooms were on the small side. Since I’ve been back I’ve been doing Dedicate series from about four years ago. The first two are long because there’s lots of chat but the later ones are more manageable length. I’m loving this series. There’s lots of that flow with the arms raising above the head which I really enjoy. Ive been reading all your posts and I have enjoyed hearing about what practices you’ve been doing.

Yogachick · 06/07/2023 09:17

Hi @notanicepersonapparently (I’m sure you are lovely) I’ve joined in at Dedicate Day 5,inspired by a Fbk group I’m on. The title is Flow ,which lured me in . Such a perfect practice, though the long holds in down dog & knee to chest(ish) had me shaking. I feel fantastic so am going to continue with Dedicate, maybe catch up on the ones I missed as extras…. Or maybe not ,we’ll see !

ScottishBeth · 06/07/2023 18:17

@Yogachick that's an amazing update! So pleased for you!

@notanicepersonapparently nice to see you. I am considering Dedicate for the future.

Today I did day 17 of Revolution. It was a lovely practice actually. The image of Adriene in Plow pose was the reason I picked Revolution, and that was today. However in Plow pose I heard Adriene say that if your breathing is restricted then it isn't the pose for you (she'd given an alternative already). So I came out of it. So that is a win in itself - recognising when something isn't right for my body.

Yogachick · 07/07/2023 08:00

i was going to do Dedicate but this came up on my Instagram feed, who can resist yoga by the lake in the morning. Her cueing is spot on, the practice is magical x

@yogachick that is a fantastic update!
I am on Day 4 of Revolution. It was a lovely one for a Saturday a.m but I could not get on board with the pranayama (?) breathing where you pant and draw in the navel on the exhale. I don't think my core is strong enough. I'm starting to think even though my kids are teens I still have some ab separation (they were both massive babies). Although yoga and breath work are likely to help I think I need to do some deep core specific exercises to improve this. It's just I don't enjoy those type of exercises, of course!

Yogachick · 09/07/2023 07:33
my back is killing me so did 6 min hips last night. As I’ve had no relief with Adriene’s Lower Back Love I’ll be back to this ( non yoga) strengthener which sorts me out within a few days. I must be weird, yoga is supposed to relieve back pain 😞

@Jumbojem i love that breath think it’s kapalabhati (?) when I’ve got brain fog or feel a bit tired a few rounds of that clear my head and give me energy. I have very little core strength & invariably feel a little sore after but clear brain is worth it!

Yogachick · 10/07/2023 21:38

Meditation on FWFG app with Light Watkins followed by hips & heart practice with Adriene. Hands free & stretchy very nice

Sooverthemill · 11/07/2023 13:16

I did one of Kassandra’s zodiac ones today. I’m not at all
into such things but I chose Aries a si know that’s what my star sign is. And it was good!

Light Watkins was my yoga yesterday with day 2 of the meditation series. Cba to do any more though I had plenty of time😔today was another day of Mr Watkins and a mood boosting flow from Charlie. This was intermediate to advanced, something that even after 20+ yrs of yoga I’m definitely not, but I did my versions and still got huge benefits from. She bring lots of different poses in which I’m enjoying

had a bit of time off due to travel and wasn't really feeling it when practicing this week. Put on Rise Day 2 and it hit the spot. Just what I needed to remind myself why i'm loving this new way of being. I did most of the session with my eyes closed and it felt great.

Meditation with Light again than Yoga for Cyclists from Adriene. I would never have done this but it was on todays calendar . So glad I did,a great low to the ground,no planks or dawgs, stretching & massaging. After a full on day at work yesterday this really uncranked me😊

Sooverthemill · 14/07/2023 08:22

Still banging on with short ones. Having a bad health week/month so not pushing myself but these definitely help

Happy Friday! I have done up to Day 6 of Revolution but fancied a change (and something a bit shorter) today. Did YWA Yoga 20 min Flow for Hips and it was fabulous. Just what I needed after picking up the running a bit this week.

notanicepersonapparently · 14/07/2023 20:23

I’m still going with dedicate and still enjoying every session. 20 mins seems the perfect length. I’m on day 22 and there have been lots of planks so I’m feeling wonderfully toned. Not much balancing yet in this series.

Sooverthemill · 15/07/2023 08:05

No yoga today
