ive struggled this week as DH is away and I've found it hard to get any time for myself what with aged dog and young dog plus extra poorly DD

my plan ( having seen myself in shorts) is to do every day next week to try to boost my exercise. I used to do it daily on top of all other yoga/exercise. Bloody hell!

@Cathpot I’m a non stop flow girl ideally,I need to make a playlist of them. I’ll check out True day 27,which I would have discovered had I been consistent with True🙄no yoga for me yesterday as poorly day. Dedicate Day 13 today was a goodie, love all the wide legged forward fold action and goddess. I think inversions are good for my clogged fibro brain, I need to add in more,to see if I get more benefit

Cathpot · 28/07/2023 08:51

@ScottishBeth
I did Joy this morning and I think you have got me out of my comfortable day 27 rut. Im thinking I might alternate now with new ones or at least a selection. Was good to do new poses and also to have to really focus on what she was saying as I didn’t think about anything else the whole time!
@Yogachick
I’ll try that dedicate one I think. I’ve found my True list which actually I should have looked at sooner as I can use it too. I’ll put it on here on a second

Cathpot · 28/07/2023 08:53

This is my list - disclaimer just own opinion !

@Cathpot great list. Very honest and an excellent idea.Todays Dedicate wasn’t flowy but I liked the inversion element for the head buzz. I must start being more honest to myself about what I enjoy, may help with consistency as well. I particularly like assessment of day 17- high level of nonsense. This really pops in a nutshell with how I feel about certain practices!

notanicepersonapparently · 28/07/2023 14:39

I usually do yoga late afternoon, but today I knew I couldn't fit it in so did Morning flow with Adriene, at 20 mins it sounded just right. I don't often venture outside the 30 days series so I was pleased that it dived straight in with no waffle. Crickey it felt like a workout! Certainly got my heart rate up. A bit of shock to the system though. I think I need something more gentle if it's before breakfast 😅

Yogachick · 28/07/2023 15:04

I’m finally using the playlist option on the app, popping all the flowy, challenging sweaty suggestions in there, thanks all!

Aphotoaday · 28/07/2023 15:09

Very late to the party, could I join please. I started beginners yoga a few months back and loved it but the class was cancelled and I need to start again.

Sooverthemill · 28/07/2023 15:44

So I did a short out door Kassandra one that made me feel better!

10 minute morning stretch which suited my mood today

Still here
After a lot of false starts with series of colds I have managed the first 15 days of yoga camp

Think it's my favourite , around 30 minutes so longer than many but seems to help my head relax

Yogachick · 29/07/2023 18:12

Dedicate Day 14- Grace. Sneaky bit of abs in there but nothing too intense. Nicely chilled to start my work day😁

Jumbojem · 29/07/2023 18:35

@Cathpot I love your notes! They are very honest.

I am up to Day 16 of Revolution, it is enjoyable but my heart does sink a bit when I see it's over 30 minutes long. It means I don't do them some days as don't think I'll have time. Then it feels like each series is taking forever (which they are at a rate of 4- 5 a week!).

Yogachick · 29/07/2023 19:01

@Jumbojem me too. 30 mins is the sweet spot

ScottishBeth · 30/07/2023 10:48

Yesterday I did Finding Your Center. I regretted it as soon as I clicked on it as thought it would be core heavy. It was quite core-based, but nowhere near as bad as the day 6s I've done.

Today I did Yoga to Shift Perspective. It was a really mice 20 minute flow. Quite different to the usual practices.

I've decided also to do some specific work on my flexibility. I've found a 15 minute hip mobility video which I'm going g to do 3 times a week for the next month. My plan is that after a month I'll switch to a shoulder one and then some other body parts. I'm still planning on doing yoga those days but there's a good chance I'll be picking very short videos. I started it today and it was good - at some points I was pleased with how open my hips were but at others I could definitely see where work was needed!

Yogachick · 30/07/2023 16:09

Dedicate Day 15- Reveal. Very gentle one this morning which was just what I needed. Felt hugely better after so the magic of yoga is still there.
when I said sweet spot was 30 mins @Jumbojem i meant that’s my maximum. More than that I struggle, I’m happy around 20 mins-ish

Yogachick · 01/08/2023 10:20

Are we doing an August thread?
No yoga yesterday, I did a 15 min strength workout instead. Today back to the mat with Day 16-Dulce. This would be a great bedtime practice. Not a favourite. Did a wide legged forward fold to get some energy after I’d finished laying around with this one

WoolyMammoth55 · 01/08/2023 17:22

I just did this "Audio Yoga for Lifting the Heart and Spirit" and it was lovely - she does audio descriptions not videos, but super-clear instructions and a real focus on alignment. I love her!

I'm in for lurking on an August thread too :)

ihatethecold · 07/08/2023 20:02

I’m working my way through CENTER but I’m just not loving it as much as MOVE.
don’t know why really.
just not engaging me as much. I start veering off and doing my own thing halfway though.

ScottishBeth · 08/08/2023 18:32

@ihatethecold how far are you through Center? I know when we all did it in January a few people found it quite slow, but then thought it picked up again.

I've done a few really good practices recently. Movement Medicine - Energy was a really good flow that I enjoyed a lot. I really recommend that ine to anyone looking for a shortish (about 17 minute) flow. And yesterday I did an 11 minute morning one, which was lovely.

I did Yoga for Flexibility recently, which I wasn't that keen on. It was just fairly normal stretches y0u might do at the end of a gym class. There was obviously the extra yoga-ness of it, thinking about breathing and the whole body, but it didn't do much for me.

ihatethecold · 08/08/2023 19:01

Thanks @ScottishBeth
I'm on day 7. It was better today.
I will stick with it for now.

Having a rubbish run of not doing yoga! I had a biopsy last week and felt rough for several days and ended up having DS and his GF stay over to help out as DH was away ( he offered to stay but I thought I’d manage). So not much yoga done. Tomorrow?

Oh no @Sooverthemill
I hope you feel better soon
