ive struggled this week as DH is away and I've found it hard to get any time for myself what with aged dog and young dog plus extra poorly DD

my plan ( having seen myself in shorts) is to do every day next week to try to boost my exercise. I used to do it daily on top of all other yoga/exercise. Bloody hell!

Center is good as was home. Most of the older 30 day challenges were over 30 minutes and she did a membership survey which got her to shorten them.

did the feel good flow from Nicaragua again today. Very nice and it definitely does stretch me in all ways!

I do enjoy True but had to force myself to the mat for Day 27 thanks for asking @ScottishBeth . It was a ‘ went through the motions’ day. Still felt better after tho!

Sooverthemill · 28/06/2023 08:23

A lovely short but fast stretchy one frkm
kassandra today. Worked wonders on my shoulders

@Sooverthemill I just had a look at the feel good flow in Nicaragua - such a gorgeous place! Looks like a nice practice as well. (I also like to say Nicaragua.)
Today I did Yoga for Cramps and PMS. I'm on my period at the moment and haven't had cramps, or not badly enough that they bothered me. But I have felt dreadful with my period this month. So it was lovely to have a super gentle practice. It didn't relieve any of the symptoms I've had but I guess helped me to feel better despite them. Hopefully tomorrow will be better though.

ScottishBeth · 28/06/2023 21:25

And oops @Yogachick I meant to reply to you as well. I've still got loads of Revolution to do but I might do True when I'm done.

Sooverthemill · 29/06/2023 08:33

I did a Lottie Murphy Oilates today. It popped up. It was standing sculpt and included a lot of warrior 3!

Yes! I would love those backgrounds to my practice, yet here i am in my bedroom with the curtains closed, lol.

I missed 3 days this week due to IBS, it's not usual that something slows me down.
I am probably still, after a whole year, a novice, but love to recycle my faves.

However, I still cannot fathom downward dog. I seem to look fine in the mirror, so know i am doing it absolutely correct, but to this day i get nothing out of it. I get something, usually, out of even the most simple poses. No idea what's going on there!

Love the resting poses during an intense session. my ultimate fave is savasana!

ScottishBeth · 30/06/2023 07:42

@MintyAraminta have you seen the foundations of yoga downdog video? It might be helpful. It is a posture that takes a while to get the hang of, I think. I still find it tough on my shoulders if I've had a bit of time off.

Sooverthemill · 01/07/2023 12:06

@MintyAraminta it took me years to feel I was doing it right and that I was enjoying it I love it now. Persevere if you can

today a fast Kassandra one from
her garden! Excellent for what I needed and very stretchy

Hellooo! Well I am currently on holiday and, despite bringing my mat, I have well and truly fallen off the yoga wagon! Back to it next week...

Hi, I'd really love to join in if possible? I had my third baby 2 weeks ago and am itching to get moving and get my body feeling good again. Might not start immediately but I'd love any advice on where to start?
I did one of the 30 day challenges from yoga with Adrienne ages ago, but is there more than one? And if so where's best to begin?!

I might start with just a few short videos a week and build up to the 30 days, although I feel really good at the moment so would like to put my body first and try and avoid falling into the eating all the rubbish because I'm tired and feel rubbish rut

midgetastic · 02/07/2023 08:31

Hi all
Restarting after what seeems like about 6 weeks of being mostly ill with various colds

I had just done the first 2 days of yoga camp and did day 1 again yesterday

midgetastic · 02/07/2023 08:36

@Givealittlebit
Don't you need to wait a few weeks yet?

Adrienne does loads of videos

There are many 30 day series - ones like
Centre are short sessions

And A lot of introductory videos for various poses which are worth watching as they can help you be safe

And a lot of other ones for whatever your mood - with 3 children the juts before bed sleep relax one's spring to mind !

Givealittlebit · 02/07/2023 08:39

Technically yes, but to be honest this is the best I've felt after any of my pregnancies (I did the school run 24 hrs after giving birth 😂) and have been walking/out and about everyday, do I figured if I start gentle and small I can gradually build it up.

The just before bed ones sound fab, thanks! Will look them up at some point this week

Annalisea · 02/07/2023 08:43

placemarking

ScottishBeth · 02/07/2023 14:29

@Givealittlebit welcome and congratulations on your little one! I have no idea about exercise post partum but lots of the bedtime yoga practices are very gentle (be aware though that at least one of the longer ones I've done had a plank in it). When you're up to it there are a number of 30 day series. Often though I just look at the various playlists and find one I like the look of.

Today I did the Runner's yoga practice. It was a very stretchy one and I really liked it today.

Yogachick · 03/07/2023 07:55

Have strayed off the yoga track again and have the inflammation & negativity that goes with that. Takes about a week to kick in. I was feeling SO good with daily practice I thought I could do more usual exercise. Fuck knows why I can’t get it into my head I feel good BECAUSE of the daily practice & the cumulative effect. Anyway tried a new one from YT this morning, like her vibe, wry different to Adriene’s but still very yoga

@Givealittlebit welcome and congratulations! You may still be able to find a post natal yoga practice on YouTube. Probably not yoga with Adrienne but there will be others. I had a DVD of pre/post natal video which shows you how long ago I gave birth!
Finally finished Yoga Camp this morning (well, up to Day 29). Although I am not sure if I did Day 27 or not but I'm moving on now as feels like it took me forever to get through it. That said I really enjoyed it, just they are long sessions, this morning's felt short at 27 minutes!
I'm following all the 30 day series through from the first one so looks like Revolution is my next series!

qwertylal · 03/07/2023 12:41

Glad to hear you enjoyed Yoga camp - I just started it this morning and noticed there are some quite long ones. I'm aiming for every other day at this stage as still early days for me trying to get back into daily practice

Sooverthemill · 04/07/2023 08:32

A short morning practice from kassandra today. Good for my hips!

OP posts:
Yogachick · 04/07/2023 12:12

@Givealittlebit i think Sarah Beth yoga has a post natal series, I don’t know if there’s some of that on YouTube, she’s a very solid instructor x

Jumbojem · 04/07/2023 12:27

@Yogachick thanks for sharing those YouTube links. I'm always nervous to move away from Adrienne as I feel I know her/trust her now. When I've tried the odd random alternative little things annoy me (which is irrational - like an annoying accent say).
Day 1 of Revolution today, not too taxing but a couple of core moves in there to catch me unawares thinking a Day 1 would be light intro! Oddly this one is 31 days long so assume I'll have to do up to Day 30 to avoid the silent last day one.

ScottishBeth · 04/07/2023 18:58

I'm the same @Jumbojem I am a bit too scared to do any yoga that isn't Adriene (the only exception would be an in person class). It is a bit silly. On the other hand I've been to numerous in person classes which weren't right for me, so maybe sticking with Adriene isn't such a bad idea. I hope you enjoy Revolution. I'm about halfway through it. It has been ages since I've done one though as haven't had time for more than 30 minutes.

Today I did a short post-run yoga. I've done it several times before and really like it. After that I did the Foundations of Yoga Legs up the wall which was nice.
