I did a 15 minute Sunrise session from a few years ago. Needed to do something! Will restart Move tomorrow or Tuesday as luckily May has 31 days! Please join me. Anyone welcome, we aim to support and encourage and to log our teeny improvements day by day

Morning @Sooverthemill thanks for starting the new thread. Looking forward to doing 1 later.

rifling · 01/05/2022 09:39

Thanks for the new thread. Still in pyjamas...contemplating rolling out the mat.

millytint44 · 01/05/2022 10:26

I did the actual day 1 for May this morning before 9am! Lovely side stretches. Go me!!! Now in wetherspoons eating breakie😂

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 01/05/2022 10:54

Thanks so much for new thread @Sooverthemill.

Yes-am joining you on Move-feeling very rejuvenated and raring to go!

DontPickTheFlowers · 01/05/2022 11:01

Hi👋 I’m in.

I’ve done about three sessions over the last week and feel so much better for it….I’ve got no idea which one I’ve been doing though - has she done a special one for May or is this January repeated?

I used to do loads of yoga but stopped around the first lockdown and now have awful IBS (and some possible Gynae probs), I’m having a scan on Fri. So the yoga will hopefully help🤞

misskatamari · 01/05/2022 11:03

I'll attempt to join! I did move in Jan for a few weeks, before catching covid and feeling shite for months, so I really want to get back into it. I felt the difference after just that short time. Pilates for me today, so I won't start just yet, but want to do yoga on days I don't have a Pilates class :)

Rummikub · 01/05/2022 11:05

@DontPickTheFlowers

Welcome! its the January one repeated. Move.

@DontPickTheFlowers

Welcome! its the January one repeated. Move.

Super, thanks - I’m three days ahead, but can start on day 1 again - it’ll give me more incentive not to miss days if everyone else is doing it too.

Rummikub · 01/05/2022 12:18

Put this in the old thread in error

Day 1 completed.

I had to check it was move as I couldn’t remember a lot of this.

can anyone twist their wristS like she does? I can just about go to 3pm but no further and it really hurts. Three legged dog and wave your leg about in the air... nope 😂

OopNorfDahnSarf · 01/05/2022 12:33

Morning all.
Thanks for the new thread.

SunUpSunDown · 01/05/2022 12:44

Afternoon everyone! I’m joining for another round of Move…DH has decided he’ll join me this time. We managed to squeeze our mats side by side into our very limited floor space and have to make sure we coordinate everything to avoid knocking each other out 😂

@Rummikub My wrists do go all the way around, but I think that might be because I’m hypermobile. DH can only manage to 3 o clock, so I think you guys are normal ones!

millytint44 · 01/05/2022 15:44

Can someone explain 🙏 please ... Why do you do 'move' again and not the may stuff she's doing called 'flow'.

Sooverthemill · 01/05/2022 16:04

@millytint44 because we all enjoyed doing Move so much and have loved repeating it finding improvements every day. The 30 day series which she releases every January are a programme that builds up flexibility and strength over the 30 days. The monthly calendars are lovely but they are simply themed and not a series that builds being taken from videos she's previously released. They used to be curated by a member and now FWFG pulls them together under a loose theme. I'm guessing this month is 31 videos all taken from various flow videos she has released. I'm sure it's a great calendar but I prefer doing the 30 days. I always repeat them several times each year and it's nice doing them 'together' in this group

I can do the wrists too but I’m also hypermobile. Didn’t discover this until I broke my wrist about 5 years ago and the physio reckoned my just-out-of-plaster wrist was more flexible than hers. It has its downsides. I fall over a lot.
Day 1 done, I am still using blocks for parts of it.

rifling · 01/05/2022 17:21

I ended up doing a Flow instead of Move today as I remembered I didn't like day 1. I think I'll do mainly Move but a few alternatives for the days I didn't like.

Sooverthemill · 01/05/2022 17:44

That's a good idea @rifling . I intend to do Move this month definitely

Day 1 in the bag

Sooverthemill · 02/05/2022 11:16

OMG I overslept big time so I almost didn’t do any yoga as DD was awake but I did a 10 minute stretch one. Please let tomorrow be easier!

OP posts:
Rummikub · 02/05/2022 14:06

I’m impressed you did a 10 min stretch soover. I need to do same.

These last few days are my longest stretch of daily yoga. Think it’s about 6 days!

day 2 done. I attempted downward dog a few more times. In January I probably only did about 20pc of Move as I found it so hard. Id just watch or switch to table top. Today I think I did about 80pc! I can’t do the transitions still - I collapse or drag my leg but it’s still a win for me!

Shannith · 03/05/2022 07:20

Thanks for the new thread @Sooverthemill and yay to doing it again. I can't believe the improvement I've made in 3 months of move - and I did daily yoga before.

And hurrah I've found my fellow non flexible wrist people. Did day one and it's good to have reminders of the basics. Doing table top properly is a lot different from just hanging out on all fours - which is what I used to do.

I actually thing the first week is hard - because it's at a slower pace.

I've said it before but the biggest difference I've noticed it that I have more space and time to do everything. And her little suggestions, beyond just attempting to arrange my body in the right position now make sense.

Saying that I feel stiff and unmotivated today and I'm a bit worried I can feel my lower back twinging - it's my weak spot.

guinnessguzzler · 03/05/2022 07:40

Morning Movers!

Thanks for the new thread and well done to us all for showing up! I just did a 10 minute wake up one this morning but it was a lovely start to the day. Planning on joining in with Move though, from tomorrow. Good to see a few new names here too as well as all the old crowd 😀

guinnessguzzler · 03/05/2022 07:42

@SunUpSunDown Yes, we don't have the space to do yoga at the same time and I'm sure would be the same if we tried!

GentlemanJay · 03/05/2022 07:51

I've done lots of her videos. I like them. Also try Pilates with Lottie Murphy.

Sooverthemill · 03/05/2022 08:20

I did day 1! I’d forgotten about the waffle at the start so it’s only actually about 25 minutes. Enjoyable and I’m
so glad to be back
