Day 2 felt really tough. This time I am feeling annoyed with all the waffle while sitting cross legged. First time round I appreciated it. Oh well. Take a deep breath and keep going. 🙂

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 03/05/2022 10:49

@Sooverthemill @OopNorfDahnSarf I am finding the waffle at the beginning very annoying too-shouting "just get on with it" is not very zen but I am also very intolerant of it this time around...

BestIsWest · 03/05/2022 18:20

Day 3 done. Why doesn’t it get any easier. I still need to use the blocks for some things.

Prestissimo · 03/05/2022 18:26

Can I join? I've done a few Adrienne videos before - usually the runners' ones. But I'd like to tone up a bit and feel some daily evening yoga and some motivation from this thread would help in conjunction with morning running.

Will be two days behind but I can always go into June, right?Smile

Yes! The more the merrier. We tried to be all on the same day but that fell apart quite fast. The support and motivation is great on here

How’s everyone going?

Well I started out being three days ahead but didn’t do any yoga on Sun or today. So I’m now only up to day 4 which I did first thing yesterday morning as soon as I woke up - my three year old was still asleep! I’m really unfit so found it quite tough and felt I needed to be more warmed up first - she seems to go straight into it…If I get an early morning chance again, I’ll try the SunSalutations that Sooverthemill mentioned instead.

I have a cold brewing and feeling achy, tired and down in the dumps so going to force myself to do it now (after I’ve cleared piles of clean washing and toys off the floor🙄).

SunUpSunDown · 03/05/2022 21:16

We did Day Three tonight...got in after a long day in work, DH put our mats out, and when Adriene said "We'll begin lying on our backs", we both simultaneously let out little cheers 😂We did feel better afterwards.
@DontPickTheFlowers Be kind to yourself, and hope you feel better soon!

Rummikub · 03/05/2022 21:39

great news @Sooverthemill

i overslept so missed day 3. Hope to do it tomorrow or at latest Thursday.

@SunUpSunDown I always cheer when she says lie on your back

I have a long commute and when i get out my car I’m always stiff. But perhaps a little less stiff than a few months ago.

I quite like the waffle. I did zoom in to see if she was talking at same time as yoga or if it was voice over- as she doesn’t seem breathless at all 😱

Prestissimo · 04/05/2022 05:44

Managed day1 last night - enjoyed it. Fitting it in for the next few days could be challenging as we've got family staying but hoping to stick with it.

DontPickTheFlowers · 04/05/2022 08:30

For anyone actually doing day 4 today, I found it quite hard going (but maybe because it was first thing I the morning).

Day 5 was much better though. I did it at 9pm last night - I’m so grateful for this thread, if I wasn’t part of it, I know I would have slumped in the sofa with my usual hot chocolate and paw patrol ice cream stolen from the little one because, errm, I don’t eat that stuff 😆. Instead I had Yogi tea and blueberries so I’m feeling more wholesome!

Sooverthemill · 04/05/2022 08:33

Well done everyone. Getting back into a routine really helps me. I did day 2, again I kind of groaned when I saw it was 28 minutes but of course it was fine. But yogi bicycles on day 2?! A bit tough. I am never ever going to be able to do anything other than drag my leg through...

Enjoyed Day 3 today. I felt it really flowed and I could feel the improvement in the side plank from when I started in March.

hoorayandupsherises · 04/05/2022 15:02

I am so happy you are doing it again - I did January with you lot, felt so much better and then dipped in and out of the calendar in Feb and March, wanted to get back on for 1 April and got Covid and couldn't do anything more strenuous than putting my socks on for three weeks 🙃

I have a big birthday coming up at the end of the month, so extra motivated to feel good 😄

BestIsWest · 04/05/2022 20:09

Day 4 - I find this one so fast. I forget how hard the first four days are.

Shinyandnew2022 · 04/05/2022 20:43

Thanks for the new thread @Sooverthemill
Great to hear where you are are all up to

I typed a long message but still can't post on my ipad so lost that one.

Anyhow I did day 2 today. Oh my goodness me I have found the first two days hard !
I suppose I must be better than in January but it really feels like it's just as hard.

Hopefully this will mean I will try not to miss as many days this month as I missed some of my favourites at the end and feel I have lost some of my improvements.

Prestissimo · 05/05/2022 06:15

Day 3 done. Think I generally prefer to do it in the evenings but my Dad is coming to stay for a few days so now seemed the window for today.

I was quite stiff yesterday after day 1 and felt it during the day 2 session. Am enjoying feeling my muscles again though. Always amazed how much it helps in yoga if you can actually focus on breathing (instead of falling over Grin).

Sooverthemill · 05/05/2022 07:19

@hoorayandupsherises welcome back!
I've just done day 3 which was far too early for me but I have to take DDs hedgehog to the vet. Actually it was fine and I loved the stretches. I find that each time I do the 30 days I really do have a different experience. Side planks? No problem. Reaching leg and opposite arm out? Fall over! Child's pose? Foot goes into spasm. Oh well

Oh how exciting - lots of new movers!

I'm up to day 5 (and into my 4th month) and the huge difference is that I barely notice the transitions now - where to begin with it's all
I concentrated on - where to put my legs, how to go floor/plank/down dog/lunge and back again. And the pain - Ok mostly mild discomfort. And pain.

Now most of the time they are just instructions and not layers of wft.

And I am stronger. I wouldn't say plank is a resting posture but not miles off it. Ditto down dog. Actually down dog is a resting posture for me. It most definitely was not.

So if you need motivation- bugger me it works!

Disclaimer - I do extra sessions for riders/to help with my busted bits due to riding and extra core ones but the biggest change is following move every day.

Who knew? Adrienne obviously and the lovely women who started this lovely thread.

hoorayandupsherises · 05/05/2022 13:40

I have just subluxated a knee stretching at work (darn you EDS!), which may jeopardize day 3 later. Anyone else with EDS on the thread?

Anyway, I couldn't remember any of Day 2 from last time and am now wondering if I missed it somehow (I started a few days late last time too)! Let's hope I'm better at yoga than maths by the end of this month.

Shannith · 05/05/2022 14:19

I just did her core ritual one - that I used to do loads last year. Dear god - who only knows what I was doing when I did it then. All wrong without doubt.

It's no walk in the park but infinitely easier/makes more sense now I'm not writhing in pain from using my my neck/legs instead of my actual core. There's even a side forearm plank thing which I used to just gawp at her and think no one can actually do that.

Did it! Just but did it!

Rummikub · 05/05/2022 15:59

Day 3 done this morning.
i likes this one
start on your back
Nice and stretchy
had to do half plank side stretch but still felt like an improvement.

SunUpSunDown · 05/05/2022 20:08

We are on Day 4 here.
@hoorayandupsherises I don't have EDS as far as I know, but I am hyper-mobile which can be problematic enough. (We suspect my sister may have it, but I've no idea what happened to the genetic testing she was promised ages ago.) I have learned I have to be careful with exercise, otherwise I'll pay for it! Hope your knee recovers quickly.
@Shannith yay re the side forearm plank. Well done!

BestIsWest · 05/05/2022 20:16

Day 5 - didn’t sleep last night so really didn’t want to do it but glad I did. A nice twisty one.

Shinyandnew2022 · 05/05/2022 22:44

Day 3 'in the books' - enjoyed it more than last two days.
I am loving reading everyone's little successes and am also glad others are on the same day as me as I didn't enjoy the feeling of getting so behind last month -
Good motivation to keep going !

Oh I can't seem to tag people anymore - is that the sodding update ? @Shannith I love your descriptions! '
'Now most of the time they are just instructions and not layers of wft. '
I can relate to this !
Not sure down dog is a resting pose here though .
Just about managed side plank today and really enjoyed the warrior sequence - felt strong for some of it at least.

As always so thankful for all you other
Movers keeping me motivated
