@Rummikub I'm the same as @Sooverthemill if I don't do it first thing I never get around to it. I was particularly wary this morning as it was a parents breakfast at DD's school which she was adamant I went to.

Rummikub · 25/02/2022 09:42

I’m going to have set a yoga alarm

I’ll think about it for a bit first as sleep is precious and limited.

Anything tasty at parent breakfast?

I always refused to go to parent lunches as if heard dc comments on it! But breakfast sounds a better option.

guinnessguzzler · 25/02/2022 10:06

Not that quiet a house then @Sooverthemill Hope you are able to make the most of it anyway.

I'm impressed by the early morning yoga too although I also tend to prefer to get it done earlier on else I can find I'm too tired later. Saying that, this morning I didn't feel up to it. Still a very faint positive test so I may not be able to end my isolation early. It has been ok though, getting plenty of rest with not doing the usual running around; I think it had been good for me. I will try to get to the mat later on!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/02/2022 13:53

I'm also keen to carry on-will go with whatever practice everyone wants.

I do mine every day after dog walk. I have to do it before I eat anything-although not at the moment as still not back to yoga after noro.
We are out early to see doggy friends and then straight on to the mat. Usually with dog Grin and sometimes cat

guinnessguzzler · 25/02/2022 14:02

Grin Yoga with pets. Hope you are feeling much better soon @mumsie it sounds like you were really hit by it.

@guinnessguzzler sadly they are nothing like sweet Benji.

Dog hogs mat, brings me squeaky toys-which she squeaks non stop and licks my throat whilst I am in downward dog. Sometimes I am laughing so hard I can barely yoga but actually I figure laughing is such a good thing for mental health that I'll just go with it.

BestIsWest · 25/02/2022 16:58

I’m amazed that Benjamin just sits there. Mine would be joining in, getting underneath me and generally being a pain.

BestIsWest · 25/02/2022 16:58

Benji! not Benjamin.

Shinyandnew2022 · 25/02/2022 21:23

Just sneaking back in as have been absent from the thread for ages - I have had a week of head spinning business - but I am proud to say I have still been on the mat everyday apart from a night away last weekend .
I think I did day 26 today - anyway it was intense and really challenged me.
Horizon pose has been sent to challenge me the last two days - it's hard but I can definitely feel improvement.
Sorry to hear some of you have been unwell and wish you speedy returns to full strength.
Sorry to be a bit vague it's all
My addled brain can cope with today.
Very keen to keep going too

Shinyandnew2022 · 25/02/2022 23:02

Busyness! Not business

Sooverthemill · 26/02/2022 08:31

Day 25. And pigeon. I tried to look at Adrienne while I did the left side and fell over! So much for balance!

@BestIsWest

Benji! not Benjamin.
He only gets Benjamin when he is in trouble, which is NEVER because he is such a good boy!

Well done on sticking with it @Shinyandnew2022

I'll be doing Day 25 today as I didn't manage in the end yesterday. I will try to avoid doing that @Sooverthemill Grin

Rummikub · 26/02/2022 13:26

I did day 10
Then I think I realised I’d already done that!

I notice I lose flexibility after a few days so think the magic is definitely doing something everyday

Rummikub · 26/02/2022 13:27

😂 I look too much too and lose balance
BestIsWest · 26/02/2022 17:41

OMG day 27 was so hard. I can’t go from cobra to plank without getting up up completely so I skipped a few of those. I can do the pointing the wrists backwards easily though!

Shinyandnew2022 · 26/02/2022 18:19

@BestIsWest I did that yesterday and have just done day 28 - not sure how I lost track.
Yes it was very hard work yesterday but todays was the relaxing reward . At one point yesterday I remember saying 'are you mad?'
Day 28 has a cute moment for the Benji fans - he was wriggling from under her legs in an unusually non compliant way.

I feel very chilled now after feeling stressed out all week.
I feel better as soon as I hear the intro music I have decided.
Maybe she needs to release it as a track for me to play during my work day..

Gufo · 27/02/2022 08:41

So in January I made it as far as day 26 and joined a couple of real life yoga classes. February was a massive fail - job changes and kid stuff mean that I've just done days 27 to 30 over the last few days! Funny how the more you need yoga in your life, the less time there is to do it Anyway, I have finally completed the series and now deciding what to do next - I might move through the Fundamental videos as I'm not sure my technique is quite right.

Shannith · 27/02/2022 10:33

Had a few busy days - so redid 26 as it's a nice overall stretch- and I'm glad I did before diving into 27. Which amazingly I did all of (but I had what she'd call and active practice in that I was doing daily fix my wonky body yoga before move).

I actually found it...easy. Yep that really is the word. Amazing as if I'd done that stone cold before the move days I suspect I'd have not managed half of it.

So I'm in total awe of Adrienne. And you lovely lot. And very up for redoing it/doing something similar for March.

It's been a revelation and I've really enjoyed it. I can finally just about keep up with her pace (without flinging myself about in a panic) instead of being hold on hold on woman I'm still on all fours, how have you done down dog and plank in that time.

rifling · 27/02/2022 10:36

I got all psyched up to do today's long shakti yoga session (on February's calendar) and the video doesn't work!

Sooverthemill · 27/02/2022 10:38

Well done all! Today I cheated. Am absolutely knackered, not enough sleep and tummy troubles from intolerances and DH is away so it's full on with DD. I almost skipped it but instead I did a 5 minute stretch with Kassandra. Felt massively guilty but hey it's yoga. Hopefully day 26 tomorrow
I will start a March thread tomorrow

Yes! I am definitely creakier if I miss a day or two. One pleasant change I have noticed is that Down Dog is now feeling, if not enjoyable, at least not painful and I can sort of see how it may one day be possible to "rest" in it. My knees are not hurting now either. For the first month I had to put a blanket under them everytime I was in table top - no longer necessary!

rifling · 27/02/2022 10:43

@Sooverthemill - I don't think that's cheating at all! Looking at my calendar for this month, I have done 17 videos out of 28 - so far from perfect but so much better than doing nothing. On some of the off days I did a 5 minute sun salutation sequence instead. I feel quite motivated now as I don't want to lose my flexibility*.

*If you saw me doing yoga you wouldn't think I was flexible at all tbh but I can feel the difference and it is definitely helping my posture.

Yay brilliant! Thank you.

Yes I’m of similar mind some is better than nothing. I trick myself sometimes and say I’ll just do 5 mins but I always get into it,

Wow that is Incredible! My wrists are having none of it,
Shannith · 27/02/2022 11:13

@rifling and @Rummikub yes I defiantly feel it in terms of flexibility if I miss a few days. It's my motivation to get back on the mat - like @Sooverthemill said, even if it's just to stretch it out a bit.

I'm also motivated by fuckwit horse liking to throw in random unasked for sideways moves. I used to fall off. Now I tend to sway and remain somewhere in the saddle. Not every time, but progress!

Well done for sticking with it @Shinyandnew2022 and for all of us. I often have a pet or two "helping". The dog seems to think it's my attempting to communicate I want to play and less annoying cat can be cute as she rolls and stretches next to me. Evil cat regards me with distain- but she doesn't that most of the time anyway.

I'm going to do 28 now to catch up and DD seems happy calling her friends and singing.
