Did 19 and 21 back to bank to catch up as I shipped DC off ice skating with Guides (I swear Guides is much more fun that I remember nowadays).

19 was nice and 21 - well I'm glad I do her 12 min core video a lot. I found it fairly easy - and if I hadn't I'd have stamped my feet and rolled up my mat because it would have been a lot of 12 mins work for nothing!

guinnessguzzler · 20/02/2022 11:41

It was Day 20 for me today. More hard core Grin than I remembered but still some good stretches working on the bits that are hurting from earlier in the week. I think I need to start adding some targeted sessions too so may try that one @Shannith ... how bad can 12 minutes be Wink

Feawen · 20/02/2022 11:59

Hi all, so happy to see this thread and it’s yogis are still going! I missed several days due to feeling under the weather, but I’m doing a bit better today and managed to complete day 12. I’ve ordered some vitamin D capsules to see if that helps with my exhaustion and dizziness as I still don’t feel right (though a bit more human now).

Dhorse has been doing lots of carrot stretches too :)

Shannith · 20/02/2022 16:00

@guinnessguzzler it's called "core" and I settled on it after doing her other core ones because 1. It's easier and 2. It seems to target my lower stomach muscles more. But mostly 1.

I started because my instructor was always yelling use your core not you reins and I was like duh fat chance. I do use it now. Cob does what she pleases regardless.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 20/02/2022 16:54

@Sooverthemill thanks-def not bouncing back as quickly as I had hoped so will see tomorrow.

Interesting how quickly I feel at a bit of a loss without it!!!

BestIsWest · 20/02/2022 17:41

Day 21, short and sweet and I could definitely feel my core working! It will hurt tomorrow.
I’ll give the core one a go @Shannith, thanks. It was good to give my shoulders a day off from downward dog.

Shannith · 21/02/2022 08:12

Good luck @BestIsWest it took me some time but the day I could sit up from flat back without using my hands was possibly one of the best achievements in my life. Sad I know but given how ill/weak I'd been a couple of years prior it was a "I'm OK, I'm going to make it" moment.

My consultant was all about blood counts and whatnot but I was, you don't understand I can do the sit up thingy, all is well.

Day 21 and my nemesis balancing on my right leg. Managed it after a fashion. If I've learned one thing from daily yoga it's that almost everything (for me) was nigh on impossible to start but time and consistent practice really does work.

So give it a year and I'll be merrily balancing on one leg and washing the dishes at the same time. Possibly.

guinnessguzzler · 21/02/2022 09:09

GrinGrinGrin So true! I will give the Core one a try but not today as I've just done Day 21 Connect which was fairly core focused anyway, but at least short!

Have just tested positive for Covid. Managed yoga yesterday morning (before I tested), felt pretty rough overnight but ok enough to have a go this morning. Not going to push myself too hard but going to keep going if I can. At least it means a lot less running around than normal so feel like a bit of yoga should be ok as long as I listen to my body. I'm triple vaxxed so hoping it won't hit me too hard!

BestIsWest · 21/02/2022 10:02

Oh @Shannith, that must have been such an emotional moment!

BestIsWest · 21/02/2022 10:03

@guinnessguzzler oh no! Hope you don’t feel too bad.

Rummikub · 21/02/2022 10:48

This is how i feel too.

Just did day ten and there was so much of it I didn’t attempt! She really does differentiate very well so I think doing move for a year will be interesting to see the changes and improvements.
Some of the moves today where wtf / just grab your right foot with your left hand!

guinnessguzzler · 21/02/2022 11:31

Thanks @BestIsWest Ok so far but people keep telling me to rest even if I don't feel I need to so trying to take it easy!

Sooverthemill · 21/02/2022 19:12

@Shannith I totally get that. Well done
@guinnessguzzler look after yourself. The queen is a poor example I feel. Sick people need rest

I did day 20 and took it really mindfully taking my time over each pose. I really enjoyed it but side plank was tougher today

guinnessguzzler · 21/02/2022 21:13

Thanks, I will do my best!

BestIsWest · 21/02/2022 21:33

Day 22 was very hard! A bit too fast for me so I missed a few bits. The balancing wasn’t happening either.

Sooverthemill · 22/02/2022 08:04

Day 21 done. OMG I hadn't remembered that, obviously wiped it from my brain. I did it but ouch. @Shannith which is the 12 minute one you do regularly? Give me a link! I need practice

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 22/02/2022 08:06

I used to do one after each session a few years ago ( I love the outdoors ones) and it definitely helped

Shannith · 22/02/2022 08:20

@Sooverthemill here you go

Shannith · 22/02/2022 09:01

Day 22 was just what I needed after taking 4 10 year old girls mini triathlon training yesterday. This is significantly less impressive than it sounds. They've only got to do 800m. I made them do yoga to warm up.

Shannith · 22/02/2022 09:01

Oh I'm going to give that a go now.
Shannith · 22/02/2022 09:22

@Sooverthemill that's a nice one - perfect for my I will be balanced in 2 point mission (riding term) though it's going to take me a few (100) goes before I move with the grace she does.

Shannith · 22/02/2022 10:59

Is anyone else surprised by the subtle effects, actually not that subtle for me? I feel more limber (?) all around. It's actually done more to fix my various aches and pains than the yoga I've been doing to fix them.

It's obviously taking me out of my comfort zone and this thread makes me feel weirdly accountable. I mean I know no one actually cares if I've given day 21 a go but it adds a useful nagging voice in my head when I'm procrastinating Grin

Sooverthemill · 22/02/2022 13:02

@Shannith I care! X

Coincidentally I did that one today and loved it! Really flowy and felt challenging but not impossible. Also liked Adriene's curly hair!

guinnessguzzler · 22/02/2022 13:53

Ooh, going to have to try it now.

Of course we care @Shannith and if we ever find out you haven't done your daily yoga well you just wait till we hear what you have to say for yourself and then we'll give you all the support and encouragement we can to get back to the mat Grin
