@Sooverthemill

I used to do one after each session a few years ago ( I love the outdoors ones) and it definitely helped
Just had a go at this. Really enjoyed it but it felt so fast. I'm obviously not used to flow! Beautiful beach view too!
Sooverthemill · 22/02/2022 17:50

Adrienne often teaches a retreat in Nicaragua and I love the videos she posts from there. The nearest I will ever get to a retreat or beach yoga!

@Shannith I think the care and support from this group so warming-we def care!!!

@guinnessguzzler hope you have an easy ride-def rest and give your self a pass from guilt!!

I am still not back on the mat-norovirus last week-hit late thursday/early hours friday and am still Envy (not envy) and can not face the mat yet which is very frustrating but am on the mend-finally so hopefully soon!!! Hit me like a bloody freight train.
Annoying that the weight has not fallen off though-that is usually the silver lining!!!

Rummikub · 23/02/2022 08:54

That’s the plus side usually! My friend lost about ten pounds she was so happy!

Yes this thread is so supportive. Without it I’d’ve stopped. The accountability definitely helps.

Is it too soon to ask plans for March?
Again?

I’ve decided that must be Adriene’s aim as she gives access to it for a year!

Shannith · 23/02/2022 09:13

@Sooverthemill that's added to the bucket lost. Though I'm sure the waiting the waiting list is so long I'll be near the bucket and therefore unable to do yoga if I ever got to it.

I somehow managed to pull a muscle in my hip this morning walking up a stair. Because I was too lazy to turn the light on and apparently walking up the same stair 1,000 times does not mean I can judge it in the dark.

@guinnessguzzler hope it's not too bad. And @mumsiedarlingrevolta that you carry on feeling better. I had noro last year and was quite shocked by how it knocked me over for a couple of days - I certainly could not have laid on a yoga mat except to cry.

Day 22 was ok - hip not playing ball so I'm going to do my normal solution to tweaked muscles - bit more yoga with her.

BestIsWest · 23/02/2022 09:28

That beach video looks so hard! I think I am some way off that one. Maybe I’ll use it as a target to work towards. This time next year maybe!

Sooverthemill · 23/02/2022 09:43

@Shannith I did have a crazy idea that we could all get to hand have a retreat. However the reality is a) couldn't afford it and b) can't leave sick DD.

@BestIsWest you will get there and the beach session isn't that hard. Honest

So today I did day 22 and even though I had overslept and been awake for about 10 minutes and had a cat rubbing around my legs the entire time I did the balances. Yay me. Even warrior 3(?) was possible and I only wobbled didn't fall!
@mumsiedarlingrevolta I had campylobacter poisoning in September 2020 and it took me about 4 months to recover and I am left with food intolerances. I had a resurgence in December ( I assume) and was ill for about 3 weeks. Take it easy!

@Sooverthemill very very impressed with the balancing - still definitely a work in progress for me - but you give me hope it's possible!

I'm a sadist so just redid day 21 and your hips and core flow one in an effort to get my hip from stiffening up. I'm off to ride so supplemented it my some paracetamol as the mare is lively at the moment. I'm sure Adrienne would have some green tea and breathe but desire to stay alive took precedence.

BestIsWest · 23/02/2022 20:59

23 and 24 done. Fell over in the garden this morning (talk about balancing!) and landed on my hands so downward dog may be a no tomorrow. Hope not.

Rummikub · 24/02/2022 01:04

Ouch! Hope you’re ok

Sooverthemill · 24/02/2022 08:12

@BestIsWest hope you are okay?
Day 23 done. Very early so I could say goodbye to DH who is off in a walking break with out two eldest adult DC.

This was a good one except my right hip was very painful in the first pose ( seated forward fold). I had to change position a lot! I'm enjoying the twists.
Definitely for a March thread but do people want to repeat Move? ( I'm happy to)

OP posts:
Rummikub · 24/02/2022 08:53

I’m happy to do move again.

Especially as I can see/ feel there are lots of levels just within one position that Adrienne shows.

But happy to follow the crowd.

guinnessguzzler · 24/02/2022 12:27

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Doing ok, just getting tired easily is all now really so resting as much as possible although keeping up with yoga gently too. Hope you are ok @BestIsWest and that your hip is better @Shannith

You will have a quiet house then @Sooverthemill?

Definitely up for continuing in to March and happy to do whatever. My fella has just started a 30 Day yoga challenge now too - I must have been going on about it so much, or he can see the improvements and knows he needs to keep up Grin, but he is doing a special manly one Grin

Sooverthemill · 24/02/2022 14:59

@guinnessguzzler kind of! It's just me and DD here plus 3 cats, 2 dogs, a hedgehog and two hamsters. The two eldest have their own homes so don't live here anyway. DD has a chronic illness so still lives at home, .

BestIsWest · 24/02/2022 16:18

Thanks all, I seem to be fine today. A bit creaky but work has been crazy so not had time to think about it really. Will do 25 later.

@Sooverthemill, I’ll be repeating Move so happy to continue.

@guinnessguzzler Grin at special Manly Yoga!

BestIsWest · 24/02/2022 18:29

25 seemed easier than 23 and 24. In fact I put some music on and did another 10 minutes of bits and pieces. Even managed a short plank without the blocks.

Rummikub · 24/02/2022 18:40

When you do plank with blocks where do the blocks go?

BestIsWest · 24/02/2022 18:48

I just put my hands on the blocks instead of the floor.

Rummikub · 24/02/2022 18:51

Oh ok. I was imagining in the middle for some reason.
Do you think that would work with downward dog as my wrists just can’t deal with it?

BestIsWest · 24/02/2022 18:52

Like this sort of though Google showed me lots of pictures of people with them under their shoulders

Adrienne daily yoga thread: February, moving on from Move!
BestIsWest · 24/02/2022 18:54

I find it much easier on the shoulders so I think it will help the wrists too. There is a very slight bit of give in the Aldi ones which makes them comfortable to hold.

Rummikub · 24/02/2022 19:35

Oh brilliant
Thank you
That makes sense

Shannith · 25/02/2022 07:08

Did day 25 yesterday and just did 26. I've slightly hurt my right hip/lower back so not feeling as flowing as I could. But I know the best way to fix a strain is yoga so it's good to get on the mat. Because for most of yesterday I did entirely the wrong thing and curled up going oww - which of course just stiffens me up.

Felt more of an effort than normal though.

Rummikub · 25/02/2022 07:13

I’m very impressed by the completion of your yoga session this early!
I prefer in the morning but on work days I prioritise more snooze than yoga and I notice that stiffness too.

Sooverthemill · 25/02/2022 08:47

@Rummikub I always do my yoga first thing usually around 7. Otherwise there’s no way I could fit it in

So I did day 24 and fell over a bit but otherwise felt pretty good!
