Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

Wish I'd made a note of the days I enjoyed! Although that would probably mean I'd not do the challenging ones which are the ones I need most.
I'm not sure whether to try one of her other 30 day ones after this (but do 4-5 sessions a week) or have a go at the monthly calendar she emails out.
Anyway, day 29 done, was ok but not my favourite.
I'm guessing it's going to be a lot less guided tomorrow? She said this was the last one with normal guiding I think?

Mommybunny · 30/01/2022 20:29

I’ve just finished day 29 (having done all the others in sequence on the day they dropped) and I’m feeling really great about it. I’m sure it’s helping my sleep and my strength, balance and flexibility have also vastly improved this month (I hadn’t done any yoga in a couple of years before I started this).

Well done to everyone who is still with it after starting - I can’t imagine anyone is NOT seeing a benefit.

Astonishingly I may have persuaded DH to take it up too! I’ve been asking him to start with me on Tuesday once this series is over and he isn’t averse to the idea. I’m thinking another 30 Day YWA series will be good but does anyone have a recommendation which one to try? I’d like it to be easy enough for him (he’s plenty strong but not very flexible) but give me a step up from where I started at the beginning of the month. I know Adriene is all about modifications so hoping most of her moves include a “challenging” version of each pose and a “modified” version, like she does on this series.

Good luck tomorrow everyone! 🤞

Shinyandnew2022 · 30/01/2022 21:09

Day 29 in the bag here too.
@Mommybunny I am same as you I feel so good for doing it and am determined to keep at it.
I also haven't kept track of my favourites but maybe it will be good for me just to repeat them all without preconceptions as I am coping better with the abs work now .
My DH is also keen that try it but I am not sure whether this series will suit him.
@Sooverthemill will you create a new thread for us to keep going ?

Shinyandnew2022 · 30/01/2022 21:13

I am not looking forward to tomorrow !

UnaOfStormhold · 30/01/2022 21:22

If it's like in previous years then day 30 will be without any guidance, just Adriene doing a practice and an invitation to follow or do what we like. I would strongly recommend not trying to watch her and copy her moves, but instead just ad lib. Do some of the moves and sequences you remember/like, and only check to see what she's doing if you run out of inspiration. I found trying to follow her on screen was really frustrating, but listening to my body and just doing what felt good is actually really satisfying. However good a yoga teacher is, they're not inside your body and don't know what your body wants, and so I think this is Adriene's way of nudging everyone towards a more self-led practice. Not everyone's cup of tea, but definitely worth giving it a try.

BalancingStick · 30/01/2022 21:34

Day 29 completed! This one felt good after a Pilates class that I did earlier today. Can't believe it's day 30 tomorrow. I almost feel sad it's nearly over!

Day 29 in the bag here too. *@Mommybunny* I am same as you I feel so good for doing it and am determined to keep at it. Yes please! That’s bd great.

Ive just been looking at the February calendar- how does that work?

Rummikub · 30/01/2022 22:05

Day 30 left to my own devices doesn’t sound like a good thing to me!

guinnessguzzler · 31/01/2022 06:05

Yes please to new thread, this one is nearly full! Also interested to know how the calendar thing works; definitely want a bit of structure to keep me going.

UnaOfStormhold · 31/01/2022 07:19

So the monthly calendar just gives you a suggested routine to do each day. They're not as well structured into a programme as the 30 days and length is pretty variable. Personally I find I am more likely to stick to it if I do one of the 30 day series - I think there are 8 now so they will cover most of the year. I am thinking of doing Move again because it's been such a good series.

guinnessguzzler · 31/01/2022 07:29

Fab, thanks @UnaOfStormhold Yes, by the sounds of it I think I would prefer sticking with the 30 day programmes too. Quite keen to re-do Move, especially if there are others either still working through it or going back to the start.

Ietthemeatcake · 31/01/2022 07:51

Congratulations to everyone who will be completing Move today. I haven't posted in ages, but after Day 1 I got Covid, so I picked up with Day 2. 10 days later and I'm now at day 20, having just skipped the snuggly one on day 17 as I practice in the morning.

I've been reading the thread but in time with where I am in the series, but thought I'd pop on to say well done!

I've been enjoying it, and agree it's better than the last few in terms of the practice lengths and not needing to keep checking the calendar in case there's a 45 min one coming up. I've been struggling a bit with still feeling dizzy post Covid, so pleased I've managed to pick it back up. Enjoy Day 30 everyone.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 31/01/2022 08:19

@Rummikub @guinnessguzzler

I am also keen to re-do move-think will be so satisfying to see improvement!!!

and @Sooverthemill yes please for a new thread-find it very motivational to check in and it def keeps me going when I am flagging!!

Congrats everyone on Day 30 today (or whenever you get there!!)

EmmaStone · 31/01/2022 08:26

Day 28 done last night before bed - I slept like a log! Day 29 just done after waking up. Lovely piriformis stretches, really appreciated those. I'm not great at yoga in the mornings though - too stiff.

I've enjoyed this programme, I think the lengths have been perfect, and there's been a much better balance of work and breath.

itssquidstella · 31/01/2022 09:07

I can't believe we're already at the end! I need to do day 29 today and will skip day 30 completely as I hate the self-guided practice - I want to be told what to do! Pleased I've managed to more or less keep up with the programme, although I’ve had to modify quite a lot owing to being pregnant (day 27 was a disaster!).

Sooverthemill · 31/01/2022 09:16

I will start a new thread tomorrow. Are we up for repeating MOVE or something different?

I had a terrible nights sleep and have to confess I abandoned day 29 half way through. I will do it tomorrow. I do not like day 30 at all. Tried it for 3 years and now I just do the day I liked best from the previous 29. And that's showing up for myself imo!

I’ve never made it to day 30 before but I feel like I need to attempt the final one to finish the series, even though I really don’t think I’ll fare well at self guided practice.

I’d not done any yoga prior to the last couple of years and I still struggle to time movement with breathing and remember what all the different postures are.

I planned to do it on my lunch break today as I’m out this evening but I’ve just sat down to have a glass of water before I get sorted to do it and now have the dog sprawled across me. If seems a shame to disturb her but she’s going to be turfed off shortly (no doubt to rejoin me on my mat and get in the way!)

Well done to everyone that’s made it to day 30 (and also the ones that are still ploughing on albeit a few days behind).

guinnessguzzler · 31/01/2022 13:30

Day 30 done! Smile So pleased with myself for making it all the way through. I even managed to have a decent go at today's non guided practice, much better than my last attempt at that!

Well done to everyone for making it this far, whenever you get here, and thanks for the new thread, that's fab. Definitely so good to have the support and encouragement and amazing to see how many people are keeping going, even just a bit, under difficult circumstances. We are all AMAZING! Grin

Jumbojem · 31/01/2022 19:11

Well done everyone, to show up and commit during January is a big achievement so I think we should all feel proud of our efforts.
I tried day 30 but only had 25 minutes between meetings (someone annoyingly put a late one in my diary) so couldn't relax into a flow of my own as clock watching, nor could I follow Adrienne well (even though I'd already half watched as it premiered during a dull work presentation).
I intend to carry on a few days a week and now I don't need to wait for them to be released going to aim to do them first thing.
Hope to see you on the next thread!

Shinyandnew2022 · 31/01/2022 19:19

I have done day 30 too !
Well done everyone who has made it, even if you aren't at day 30 yet.
I found the self guided thing hard as I expected and ended up watching and copying a lot but never mind - I showed up .

I actually got a wave of emotion at the end - this really feels like I have started something important.

Thanks so much for all the chat and for starting the threads @Sooverthemill this has been the absolute highlight of my January.

See you all on the new thread tomorrow I am happy to repeat Move .

Rummikub · 31/01/2022 19:42

@mumsiedarlingrevoltyes I’d be keen to continue.

Well done everyone who’s got to day 30!👏🏽👏🏽

becca3210 · 31/01/2022 20:42

Day 30 done 🙌 well done to everyone wherever you have got to. I also felt a little bit emotional as it felt like a big achievement. Hoping to continue every day either a video sequence or on busy days just 5mins of calm deep breathing
