Sooverthemill · 12/12/2021 09:02

Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

I’m still enjoying Move, far more than last years which dragged for me.

UnaOfStormhold · 23/01/2022 20:50

I was tired today (long run and then a running strength workout) but still found today's session enjoyable, even if I was glad to come into sukhasana at the end. I think this is my favourite 30 days so far.

2fallsfromSSA · 23/01/2022 22:11

@Sooverthemill

I love thread the needle. I find it gives a great stretch on the side that is holding me up as I put my hand on the small of my back. You may need to adjust a bit

I do yoga almost every single day. Have done since 2015. It's made a big difference to my joint health and my posture and my confidence

I really like it too. Feels like I'm stretching parts of me other stretches don't reach!
BalancingStick · 23/01/2022 22:48

Went to a Bikram yoga class this evening so was going to do Day 22 tomorrow and then I remembered that I am out tomorrow night and I know if I get more than a day behind it will be game over and I'll never catch up! So did day 22 and really enjoyed it (even after 90 mins hot yoga!) - it's a bit faster, flows quite a bit. And I even managed the hop up to the top of the mat.

Sooverthemill · 24/01/2022 08:49

I really enjoyed day 22 despite massive reluctance to get on the mat. I found some of the moves hard to follow from her voice and obviously looking makes me fall over! Needed to pause a few times. I fell twice during warrior 3 but proud I tried. This isn't why I do yoga but have to admit I'm very pleased that I now seem to have the teeny tiny beginnings of a six pack! Unfortunately the mum tum I've had for 22 years hasn't followed!

guinnessguzzler · 24/01/2022 11:12

@Shinyandnew2022 Hope you don't feel too I'll with it. There's definitely a lot of it about now.

@Sooverthemill I definitely have a six pack ... I just love it so much I like to keep it safe under several layers of fat Grin Seriously, though, I can definitely feel more muscle in there so it's definitely having an impact! I find the biggest impact is on my mood and flexibility.

DefaultParent · 24/01/2022 12:18

Just managed day 19 after a very busy Saturday and poorly kids Sunday. I was worried I'd feel sluggish but I really needed that. I thoroughly enjoyed the while practice and was proud of myself for how strong and competent I felt. I finally feel like I'm making progress!

CeibaTree · 24/01/2022 14:05

@Sooverthemill

Did day 20 today and it was lovely BUT Adrienne does witter on which reduces my concentration a bit.
Just did day 23 and she witters on during this one more than any of the others so far! Normally I don't mind when she rambles on a bit but today it did make me pause it twice to check how many minutes were left 😂
parrotonmyshoulder · 24/01/2022 18:28

I did day 20 before work and then was feeling like more just now so did day 21. Funny how I was completely exhausted after a tough day, and still am, but fancied yoga rather than a bath or just a sit down. I think I’m energised enough for sorting dinner and children now.

Weepingwillows12 · 24/01/2022 19:00

Just did day 19. My plan to catch up at the weekend didn't happen. Am thinking I might try and get in a lunchtime session tomorrow as well as my evening. Day 19 was ok but was in the mood of this is something I need to get done Vs enjoy. Might come back to it again.

I did a downward dog that felt ok for a good few breaths today which is a win for me. It usually makes my arms shake instantly like plank so I can feel the improvement

namechange5575 · 24/01/2022 19:30

Day 22 has left me with noodly arms all day!

Jumbojem · 24/01/2022 19:59

I'm really enjoying it and I've never kept up this long before. Hoping to keep up the practice but realistically Tuesday is a challenge plus when I go back to the office on weds that might also be a challenge. But I think aiming for 4 days a week minimum is doable.
I'm having problems with a painful hip after my runs now though, which is disappointing as I thought yoga would help ease these niggles!

Shinyandnew2022 · 24/01/2022 22:08

Thanks @guinnessguzzler I definitely don't feel great but it obviously could be a lot worse.
Managed day 23 today but it was all quite an effort - can't really breathe through my nose so that was interesting. Not my favourite session.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 24/01/2022 22:14

Day 23 done, she talked a lot but I feel better for doing it.

tootyfruitypickle · 24/01/2022 22:29

@Jumbojem try some psoas stretches, be careful, this is what my problem is! I won't run again now but am finally out of daily pain now I'm doing yoga daily. I do psoas stretches on top of the move session. Running shortens the psoas massively .

Rummikub · 25/01/2022 07:57

I’ve fallen behind
I’ll have to catch up a bit I think.

Pleasenomoreglitter · 25/01/2022 08:34

I've tried these a couple of years but never got past the first few days. I'm finding muscles I didn't know I had even though I do pilates every week. My arms are really hurting after day 23, but I can feel the muscles are getting stronger. The day before it was the front of my thighs! Really pleased to be keeping it up this time and hoping to carry on afterwards.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/01/2022 11:01

@CeibaTree @Shinyandnew2022 @CeeCeeDeeBee I am so glad you all felt that way
about day 23.

I def did not enjoy it as much and was also clock watching but think I was feeling Day 22 so wondered if it was me.

This thread is so useful as I felt a bit heavy and uninspired yesterday-so encouraging to know others felt that way and `i hop on the mat today with renewed enthusiasm!

I've just done day 24, and it was so much more enjoyable than day 23 :)

shivermetimbers77 · 25/01/2022 11:19

I’ve been really enjoying this 30 days programme, far more than the previous ones. It feels more challenging (in a good way), loads more Benji and a lovely view out the window too!

Sooverthemill · 25/01/2022 12:48

I liked day 23!

Softpebbles · 25/01/2022 13:09

I’m still behind as I started late but I did day 19 today and I am really enjoying them still. May try and do day 20 later to catch up slightly.

Me too, this is the first one I have stuck with - I like that all the sessions are fairly short, I remember the last 30 day programme I tried had some sessions of 40 mins or so. This one is easy to fit in to the day. And yes I love her studio and the views :)
hoorayandupsherises · 25/01/2022 14:03

I have finally made peace with being two days behind, as I think the big achievement for me is that I have done it every day, despite starting late, and so am hopefully making it into a habit!

From the comments about the other years, I think I might go through Move again in February, otherwise the calendar on the website, but I don't really want more than 30 minutes as I know I won't commit to it.

guinnessguzzler · 25/01/2022 14:59

Yes, I think knowing it will fit into half an hour really helps.

I enjoyed Day 24 too, a nice flow to it.
