Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

day 28 done here. Felt like a day off compared to yesterday!
Can't believe I have done 4 straight weeks of yoga.
I have ordered two t-shirts from her pop up shop to celebrate my achievement !
@Sooverthemill yes I also picked up on the code 'don't be intimidated' on day 27 - the amazing thing is though that I kind of wasn't. I am just pleased to be 'showing up ' and getting stronger .

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 29/01/2022 17:00

Well frustratingly I have fallen behind after sustaining a mystery twisted knee earlier this week. I can’t work out whether I did it during yoga or when I went for a long country walk on uneven muddy paths or when I was evicting a mouse from under my bed (thanks cat 🙄🙄🙄) or on some other occasion. I clearly didn’t notice at the time but it was so painful on Thurs! This afternoon somehow mysteriously the pain seems to have suddenly gone again so I gave day 26 a go, rather gingerly. I skipped the Horizons though - didn’t want to push my knee too far and that kind of twisting plus pressure is exactly what was really painful earlier in the week. Considered doing day 27 too, in a bid to catch up a bit more, but having read the comments on here I reckon discretion is the better part of valour - I’ll wait another day!

tootyfruitypickle · 29/01/2022 17:41

28 was just what I needed today ! Lovely

guinnessguzzler · 29/01/2022 17:43

A wise decision I think!

Lightningrain · 29/01/2022 18:47

I really enjoyed day 28 today. Loved the seated ‘cat’ spine stretches.

I’ve never made it past day 15 before so I’m feeling really pleased. I definitely agree that the shorter sessions have made it a lot easier to keep up this year.

EmmaStone · 29/01/2022 20:01

Did days 26 & 27 back to back today. Saw my PT yesterday and have got achey DOMS as the day's progressed. Day 26 was tricky, I was just so stiff. Day 27, although challenging, I was at least starting to loosen up a bit. But wow, that was definitely challenging!! Hate knee to elbows.

Will do days 28 & 29 tomorrow so will end on the right day on Monday.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 29/01/2022 20:49

Did 27 & 28 today. I've done all of Adriene's programs several times and this day 27 is by FAR the hardest practice!

Needed day 28 just to chill out after!

Oh wow that has made me really proud of myself now !
daisychain01 · 30/01/2022 05:53

Does anyone else think Adriene's delivery of her sessions has massively improved this series? It's poles apart from the annoying waffly way she used to talk, she's really matured into a very accomplished yoga instructor.

She's probably done her research and seen how much competition she has, such as Kassandra who is a fabulous teacher. Credit to her, Adriene's Move series is one I'll definitely rerun many times over, whereas a couple of her other years I would only rerun 5 or 6 sessions from the whole 30 days,

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 30/01/2022 07:53

The one thing which I’ve found really irritating in previous years which she has only done I think once so for this year is randomly bursting into song - usually in a very perky loud way just as we’re supposed to be deep breathing / relaxing into the posture etc. MAKE A WISH … AND BLOW OOOOOOUT THE CAAAAANDLE LIGHT!
She seems to have knocked it off this year. Maybe she got some feedback on it.

guinnessguzzler · 30/01/2022 08:24

Grin It's funny (I mean funny peculiar) because I quite like it when she does that @SimonedeBeauvoirscat Everyone is different, eh? Hope your knee is ok today!

Agree @Shinyandnew2022 definitely feeling proud of mostly doing Day 27 after @CeeCeeDeeBee 's comments. I think it's one I would like to come back to and see if I can manage even more. It was tough but quite satisfying.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 30/01/2022 08:26

I think the length of each session has made a real difference. She should, as an accomplished teacher, be able to plan sessions which are reasonable for people to fit into their daily lives. My heart used to sink when I saw 47 minutes, 38 minutes etc. Around the 20 minute mark is more than enough!

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 30/01/2022 08:43

@guinnessguzzler I guessed some people must like it or she wouldn’t have kept doing it for so long! Knee is still painful unfortunately. So bloody frustrating. Thanks for asking tho!

You could do 28 which is very gentle and 27 tomorrow. I did 27 and 28 back to back today which was nice. 27 is hard.
2fallsfromSSA · 30/01/2022 09:16

And agree re wrist twisting. I generally go a fraction of the way she does and do not push it.

Snowiscold · 30/01/2022 09:18

I’m curious about whether people stop or pause or rewind the video at points - perhaps so they can double-check what they are meant to be doing, or they get lost, or they want to hone a bit of technique - or do they carry on with the video, not minding if they get lost or can’t do something. I’m a newbie to yoga, so there’s quite a bit I can’t do or aren’t sure what I’m meant to do, but I carry on as best I can. I don’t stop or pause or rewind the video. After the 30 days I plan to start again from day one again.

2fallsfromSSA · 30/01/2022 09:34

I tend to plough on but then I have been doing yoga a while. If I was a newbie I would probably pause and rewind. This is quite challenging for beginners I would say.

2fallsfromSSA · 30/01/2022 09:34

I think somewhere she has a foundations of yoga video which may help.

Sooverthemill · 30/01/2022 10:17

28 was great! Matched my mood brilliantly. Re her style: a few years ago in her members only vlog she said she had been to a coach in how to deliver online videos. I think she keeps up with this. Her very first videos are hilarious ( I'm fond of them as it's when I started with her) and I think she is learning all the time, last year there was a members survey about the 30 days and I certainly made comments about length and delivery style

I rarely pause but Simon one last week

@Snowiscold I think Move is probably not the easiest to start with. Home seems to start more slowly so perhaps you could try that one and then try Move again. As a pp mentioned, if there are specific poses you find particularly tricky, the yoga with Adriene website has a section called fundamentals which have individual videos for each pose.

Day 28 would have been just what I needed on day 27 but I wanted a bit more yesterday - I ended up adding some extra poses at the end.

In your circumstances, as a new yogi just starting to get the hang of the postures and techniques, there's no harm in rewinding if you've missed something or don't understand her instructions etc. i tend to run them start to finish each day, but that's having done her 30 Days series each year. You'll soon get used to the postures after a while.
Rummikub · 30/01/2022 14:36

I tend to take my best guess or adapt the pose.

Later in the day I might try one of the tricky poses again.

Last year I just repeated day 4 fir the month! This is the furthest I’ve got thanks to this thread.

Rummikub · 30/01/2022 15:40

I’ve just done day 26 and realised day 25 was missing so added it on
Glad it was short.
The breathing thing made my abs ache!

You know what I really like is that she praises you for just showing up! I must really need praise!

guinnessguzzler · 30/01/2022 18:50

Well done @Rummikub Grin We all need some praise from time to time!

I re-did Day 27 again this afternoon. Still tough but think I did more and actually looking forward to having another go at some point. Think I will try to keep it in my repertoire as an extra to do every so often.

Rummikub · 30/01/2022 19:09

@guinnessguzzler

Ah thanks it made me smile!

Yes I’m doing the same making a note of days I will repeat/ practise.
