Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

@EmmaStone I so need a massage too. My shoulders and neck are so crunchy!

drspouse · 26/01/2021 14:21

I found a nice self-massage channel on YouTube but I've only used it for hands and feet so far.

Sooverthemill · 27/01/2021 09:05

@Talisin I'm so sorry, that sucks. I hope you can find some way of continuing if you want to. I love the focus.

I missed yesterday after a series of just dreadful days with DD ( who has a chronic illness and is bedbound) but today's was fab and about the right length for me to manage stress free. I will do day 25 on Sunday instead of the free range thing Adrienne does ( which I do not like)

Redcrayons · 27/01/2021 09:25

@Talisin that’s annoying so close to the end, but better to be safe. Hope you’re feeling well.

@drspouse can you share the YT channel? I’m in desperate need of a neck and shoulder massage.

I never enjoyed the last day when I did it last year, it’s quite hard for a newbie if you don’t know what to do or how long for. But I was thinking this morning that I should start thinking about the poses and moves I enjoy so I could work out a routine for myself. I guess that’s progress.

ApolloandDaphne · 27/01/2021 09:45

I just can't do it today. I am feeling exhausted, achey and weepy. I had my Covid vaccination on Monday so I don't know if that has something to do with how I am feeling today. I got 2/3 of the way through it but I was mostly just slumped on my mat watching her. I am going to give the rest of today a miss and pick it up again tomorrow.

Sooverthemill · 27/01/2021 10:09

@ApolloandDaphne I'm sorry you feel so rubbish. I've been incredibly low too as DD is extra ill and it's very hard to,keep, going. Try to do something nice for yourself today x

drspouse · 27/01/2021 12:57

It's this one I think

ExConstance · 27/01/2021 16:52

I'm really enjoying the 30 day Breathe programme. I've been doing yoga for nearly 20 years but in ordinary classes where the emphasis is on teaching the physical position I quite often find my breathing is out of synch. I'm now really feeling the benefits in getting this right. I've rather let myself go during the current lockdown so this is a gentle re-introduction to classes. I do mine when I get home from work, which is prime snack time for me, so its helping me lose weight indirectly too.

Sooverthemill · 27/01/2021 17:55

@ExConstance yes I agree. I'm very happy she's taken this focus and I'm breathing better on the mat and coughing less off it ( asthma)!

itssquidstella · 27/01/2021 18:06

Oh I hate the free range thing she does on day 30. I'm watching a video because I want a sequence to follow; if I wanted to do my own thing then I wouldn't bother setting up the TV!

Talisin · 27/01/2021 18:40

Oh yes! I hate freestyle and it always feels like a letdown for the final day. I try and find one of her other videos of a similar length to do and just watch the beginning and end of Day 30.
EmmaStone · 27/01/2021 19:17

I feel as programme this time round has done lots of repetition to make the freestyle a bit more intuitive? But I'm not at day 30 yet lol!!

Sooverthemill · 27/01/2021 19:25

I always do a favourite video from the previous 29 on day 30 now. I hate freestyle especially as I rarely look at the video anyway and follow her voice. Also that dreadful music she uses. Apologies if you love it

EmmaStone · 27/01/2021 19:42

Day 26 done, a very welcome short one, some sneaky side dips, and wild thing (which I quite like, although would normally be more warmed up before going into it, so would have liked to have been able to bend it a bit more).

Took delivery of so,e new Sweaty Betty leggings today (had a voucher for Xmas), and absolutely delighted. I only wear SB leggings now, so knew what I'd be getting, but I'm always amazed at how they manage their colour schemes, so all my things seem to mix and match, no matter when I bought them. I've not had a pair of leggings need retiring yet, which is a problem, as I always pick up at least one pair a year in the sales ...

Cherrypi · 27/01/2021 20:40

Day 26 she tricked me. I thought it'd be a really easy one as she was wearing a jumper. I managed to get my foot in front in one go for the first time. Hurray.

drspouse · 27/01/2021 21:22

I'm a huge fan of Bam leggings, soft fabric and a side phone pocket.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 27/01/2021 21:24

I had to bail out of the side dips a few beats early, as my lower back was making warning twinges - think I was probably slumping a bit.

Could not for the life of me coordinate my legs for the wild thing. Got there eventually for the right side, but the left was a shocking tangle of bent and wavy limbs. Might check that one out separately and try a bit slower.

Sooverthemill · 28/01/2021 09:09

@AthelstaneTheUnready I love the wild thing! She does it sometimes in earlier 30 days and I really enjoy the challenge ( and I do fall over sometimes). I also was proud I could do the hip dips.

I did day 27 this morning. It was every refreshing, just what I needed. Anyone else noticed the YouTube number dropping? At 7.30 there were only about 2.5k views. Earlier this month would have been over 5 I think.

drspouse · 28/01/2021 20:29

Pilates today, gave up a few minutes early partly as the cat was distracting me!

EssentiallyDelighted · 28/01/2021 21:11

Well I started tonight and realised about 10
mins in that I'd already done that one, I jave lost track. I wasn't in the right frame of mind TBH and didn't finish it. I'm all out of routine with WFH.

EmmaStone · 28/01/2021 22:38

Day 27 done just before bed. A nice (short) snuggly one.

parrotonmyshoulder · 29/01/2021 07:22

Day 27 was short and soothing. I couldn’t have really handled much more last night! Can’t believe we’re on Day 28. This has definitely helped with the January blues for me this year.

I'm SO impressed with Adriene, honestly.

It all seems so gentle, and peaceful, and breathey, and fleeting, with the odd moment of difficulty impossibility.

And yet, 27 days ago I couldn't hold the hovering table for more than about 2 seconds, but yesterday... didn't even blink! Not a tremor.

I'm amazed at how much stronger these tiny little chunks out of the day have made me.

Sooverthemill · 29/01/2021 09:09

@AthelstaneTheUnready I was thinking that today as I worried at the start of a 37 minute session this morning. I never know if I can complete such a long session because DD may need me. But I decided that even if I only did 10 minutes of it, the repetition and routine really helps my mood and my body and my breath. I have a very stressful life with a chronically sick daughter and YWA gets me through! I'm so pleased you feel it's beneficial to you.
Say 28 is longer but really flows, slightly tricky balances but I did it!
