Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

I’ve signed up as I do one of her YouTube 3 X a week anyway but I had the misfortune to click & start one the other day that was day one of another of her 30 day programmes. My God she waffled so much it was barely a workout! It’s put me off tbh but I will start and see how it goes.

parrotonmyshoulder · 26/12/2020 20:24

Yeah, she does talk a lot! I will probably do a different video on Day 1 actually.

I’m in! Third year running. She does bang on a bit and I tend to stick to her power yoga sessions usually, but I think after the year we’ve had her 30 day thing will be just what the doctor ordered.

LadyMcLadyface · 26/12/2020 20:29

Me! Can't wait to start, especially after this shitshow of a year...

Weepingwillows12 · 26/12/2020 20:32

I am in. Need it as been rubbish at exercising, eating healthily etc lately. I liked home best recently too.

clary · 26/12/2020 20:37

I love Adriene, done all the 30-day sets since May. Gig yoga mat fir Christnas. I am so in on this!

clary · 26/12/2020 20:38

oh fgs Got yoga mat for Christmas

CatRamsey · 26/12/2020 20:40

I've never done it before but would like to start in the new year. She has so many videos though, where do I begin?!

southernbelles · 26/12/2020 20:58

Definitely! Looking forward to it 🧘‍♀️

HerBigChance · 26/12/2020 21:01

Yes, I'm doing it too. I've really got into yoga this year.

I don't mind the waffle - it gives me a chance to get in and out of poses, or have a rest Grin

UnaOfStormhold · 26/12/2020 21:38

Yes, I'm in - did Home last year and have been doing various of the 30 day programmes since then (True, Revolution, 30 days - though not Dedicate which I've heard is very wordy).

@CatRamsey if you're new to yoga then the Foundations series is worth a look as it goes through each pose in detail including variations for the non-stretchy through to super-stretchy. If you're familiar with yoga she does a calendar each month with suggested practices for each day. Finally one of my favourite approaches is to search for "yoga with Adriene for [whatever body part is troubling you]" and you'll generally find something good.

StrippedFridge · 26/12/2020 21:46

Where should a beginner start? I did pregnancy yoga (last time fifteen years ago), which I loved but was not representative of proper yoga I think. I am physically strong with good balance but have v v poor flexibility. I am normally more of a HIIT person but fancy trying yoga too. I loathe waffle in exercise videos. I also dislike things that are too easy.

Help please. What do you recommend I start with?

StrippedFridge · 26/12/2020 21:47

X-post with Cat!

TessApricot · 26/12/2020 21:52

I’ve just signed up for the 30 day Breathe. Thanks for the suggestion!

EchidnasPhone · 26/12/2020 22:13

Yes!! Totally lost my fitness the last couple months - gyms aren’t consistent, too cold to run. I am infrequent in my yoga practice but I need to move and I love Adrienne. So January I’m in!

poorbuthappy · 26/12/2020 22:24

I'm in. Did this year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Breathe....

UnaOfStormhold · 26/12/2020 22:27

Here's the link to the foundations videos - yogawithadriene.com/free-yoga-videos/foundations-of-yoga/page/8/

I'd suggest beginners have a look at a few of the basic poses that come up all the time (down dog, cobra, warrior 1 & 2, cat/cow and maybe the sun salutation sequence) so you have an idea what you're aiming for and don't have to look at the video all the time. She's generally very good at explaining the poses but these are the building blocks of a lot of her sequences so knowing these will make the whole thing easier. Other than that, enjoy finding what feels good!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 26/12/2020 22:28

I just find her too waffly. I don't mind the waffle if you're moving but often it's ten minutes just waffling on and on....

I prefer Sarah Beth Yoga or Five Parks yoga, or Travis Eliot. they waffle too but when you're moving and it makes sense.

sparklyglitterball · 26/12/2020 22:31

I'm up for this! Did the home 30
Day challenge during the first lockdown and been meaning to get into it again. Love yoga.

Alltherum · 26/12/2020 23:45

Strippedfridge I do quite a bit of hiit too and find yoga great for stretching out tired muscles. If you think of it as something to do alongside other exercise it brings a nice balance to body and brain.

Alltherum · 26/12/2020 23:48

Agree with a previous poster that Five Parks is great for those who would rather skip the waffle. There are loads of sessions on YouTube. Scenic location too!

pandora206 · 26/12/2020 23:58

Oh good, glad I found this. I did True earlier in the year though hadn't actually subscribed so the order was a bit random. I've signed up for Breath now.

Onthebrink67 · 27/12/2020 08:35

I’m in- did last years and need to set aside some time each day for self care so this is ideal

TessApricot · 27/12/2020 10:30

Anyone know how long the videos are usually? I’m wondering if I can fit them in before work.

pandora206 · 27/12/2020 10:38

TRUE was about 30 minutes each session.
