Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

I did Day 17 today, definitely feeling a bit stronger and more flexible. Still also feeling very inflexible in the hips and shoulders though.

Sooverthemill · 22/01/2021 08:41

Total fail today I think first time ever in all the years I been doing it, did just over half of day 21 and then just couldn't. Was so tired after a series of dreadful nights ( weeks now) so I just did shavasanah for a few minutes after. My body is too tired!

parrotonmyshoulder · 22/01/2021 08:50

I needed something more than Day 20 yesterday so did a Day 18 from Home. Unfortunately, my thighs have noticed that this meant 3 days of chair pose in a row. Ow!
However, apart from that, I’m a lot stronger in plank, did the side plank thing for the first time ever the other day, and can balance on one leg better than I have managed before.
Looking forward to Day 21 after work.

Day 21 complete. I too can feel I am getting a bit stronger although my transitions are still a bit baby hippo!

drspouse · 22/01/2021 11:45

I think I actually did day 18 today, Center. No way I'm ever going to get into crow, I gave up and did my physio that I usually tack on the end.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 22/01/2021 22:09

Was getting a bit fast for me today! First time I didn't even attempt something- ok in the lunge twist, but lifting from knee to toes wasn't going to happen.

Lots of planks, which I do need, so hoping to be Popeye by the end of the month.

EssentiallyDelighted · 22/01/2021 22:12

I also did Day 18 and bailed out a minute or two into the crow preparation. Did a few more stretches instead.

Sooverthemill · 23/01/2021 09:37

Day 22 was fab. I'd managed a full nights sleep so was much better prepared. I love the arm breath flow, it's one of my Fabiano I often do it in the kitchen while waiting for the microwave to ping. Just a fabulous days practice for me

drspouse · 23/01/2021 09:45

Day 19, bit distracted as DS came in to take a remote and switched me off instead!

EmmaStone · 23/01/2021 10:17

Day 20 done last night before bed - breathing perfect to lead to instant sleep!! Will do days 21 & 22 back to back probably, later today.

EssentiallyDelighted · 23/01/2021 11:18

Day 19 Strength done, that's been one of my favourites, it made a nice change from all the planks and downward dogs and much of it was things we do regularly in my real life class so I was able to do it all.

EmmaStone · 23/01/2021 18:00

21 & 22 down back to back following a walk, and with some foam rolling tagged on at the end. Feeling pretty chilled now!

Both seemed quite short, can't help but feel we're in for a biggy any day now...

parrotonmyshoulder · 23/01/2021 18:21

I liked 22. Stretchy and twisty in a nice way. My injured hip is beginning to feel better although so much stiffer on that side. I also badly re-injured a bad knee last year and had to stop yoga (and everything else) for ages. That is also a lot stronger now and doesn’t feel at all vulnerable.

Did Day 20 just now, I just can't get into the breathing and self massage stuff at all, I had cold hands so the self massage was even worse than normal, breathing, yes, I can do it, but I just sit there thinking "what's for dinner"

All up to date. Couldn’t quite get the hang of the roll over twist thing. I had two goes and couldn’t quite get to where she was and I felt a bit awkward.

I don’t normally like the breathing ones, but I really enjoyed them this week. Actually felt really chilled out after the counting 5 in and out one, which surprised me.

Feel like we might have a tough one coming up.

Sooverthemill · 23/01/2021 20:01

@Redcrayons the twist pose is one of my favourites. Takes a few goes to get it right ime but it's a lovely stretch
Here's a photo of the calendar. The next long one is a few days off

AthelstaneTheUnready · 23/01/2021 22:04

None of them have felt very long - always a bit surprised and disappointed to find we're finished Grin

I can't do the full cross-body stretch - although I used to be able to do a similar thing when I was younger, from a different exercise programme, so clearly my body can. Will just have to keep practising. Talking of which, I must get a mat. I find the warrior poses really hard as my feet slip on the carpet a bit, and I worry I'm going to snap something if I slip too far...

Does anyone else have the opposite of bandy legs? I find my knee joints won't let me bring my feet together properly. Can have the heels touching, or the top of the feet touching, but really difficult to get both at the same time. Can this improve, or am I just forever slightly knock-kneed?

Sooverthemill · 24/01/2021 09:05

Just done today day 23. Thankfully a very relaxing practice which I could totally manage. I did get impatient with her wittering on at the beginning. I find it hard at the best of times to stay relaxed cross legged!

ApolloandDaphne · 24/01/2021 10:13

I just did day 23 too. I don't mind her chatting and doing breathing at the start but I could sit cross legged for hours.

Weepingwillows12 · 24/01/2021 11:19

Did day 17 and 18 but my hear wasnt in it today and didnt want to be there. I think anything over about 30 mins puts me off and I start in the wrong frame of mind so hopefully will be back loving it later

drspouse · 24/01/2021 11:34

12 and 20 today as both v short but I'm in between the two to check my marmalade!

Ietthemeatcake · 24/01/2021 13:11

Oh I am gutted. Just went to do day 23, pinged it from my phone to my TV, when it got to the end, she said "week 1 in the books". I'd only gone and done day 8 again 🙄
I'm absolutely starving or I'd have done 23 straight after. I'm.so annoyed!
How I didn't realise I'd done it before I don't know 😆

Ietthemeatcake · 24/01/2021 17:11

Just gone back to the mat and done day 23. Wasn't right much to it I thought. Don't know if it was my frustration with playing the wrong one before (actually day 7 not 8) but I didn't get much out of Day 23.
Ah well, at least I'm up to date now.

parrotonmyshoulder · 24/01/2021 17:46

Day 23 has been the first I haven’t really liked. Still, had a good walk today so half an hour of mostly sitting down didn’t do me any harm. I find it hard to relax on a Sunday anyway.
