Women: from an orderly queue at the bar or take a seat and grab a passing gerbil.

Men: turn left at the end of the road, keep walking until you find the Staunch Ally.

Bar gerbil a full fat coke please and a packet of Scampi Fries please.

Welcome to the Bluestocking women's pub. Men are directed to the Staunch Ally just down the road. Otherwise all are welcome. Pull up a chair, give you...

Aww those are some adorable seals! Banana seals are the best kind.

And talking of adorable, I'd love to see more of the cartoon adventures of @ErrolTheDragon (who is clearly not a heat proof dragon, ouch to the sore claws!)

Happy birthday @PastaAllaNorma !

And happy Saturday, everyone. In the tractor household we have a DD heading off on her first adult holiday with friends tomorrow. I'm very nervous! One of those great big G&Ts I heard about, bar gerbils, please (....um... although.... day drinking is exacrly the sort of thing I've warned her about :( I'll need to follow my own advice and have a soft drink next!)

Just to let you all know @Wearenotborg may arrive shamefaced. She was caught calling someone stupid and is now apparently as bad as the TRA’s

Hello!

Application done! PIP postponed.

I was up till 2am with it and knew it would need a hard cut today. The Walrus was amazing because he pointed out that if you ask AI for an assessment of an application it will always find something to change.

Having realised that he sat with me for an hour to finalise it and we got AI to say it was actually a really good application and should get me an interview.

I am rather wilting now, though.

Gin and lots of it please!

Most memorable burn was picking up up a plastic and metal frying slice that DSD had left in the pan. I assumed she knew the metal would conduct the heat and melt the plastic. She didn't (part of her disability). The plastic dripped on my thumb and I didn't notice until it hurt. Spent a log time with my thumb under the running tap. My greatest achievement was smiling and not shouting and saying it was completely fine and not her mistake.

Parenting wise it was a win to make sure she wasn't upset, but it took a lot of effort. We threw the slice away and only use silicon now.

Not a burn but I do have a memorable heat related incident. I overdid the mascara one day while baking. I opened the oven and stuck my head a bit close to check on the baking. The shock of the heat made me blink hard... And my mascara melted just enough to stick my lashes together and I couldn't open my eyes!

Thank you EmpressaurusKitty, it's great to have your reports from the big day!

I don't know if my seal was a leopard seal, Cake, my expertise in seal identification only extends as far as 'Your seal is much cuter than my seal'😃

Good luck with the app/s Myrtle!

I have no burn story to share - I avoid burns asbestos I canGrin
I think Stars' oven-melted mascara story wins🏆😄

ChristmasStars · 11/04/2026 17:37

Why thank you @MarieDeGournay 😄

Do you find the third arm useful in day to day life?

Do you find the third arm useful in day to day life?

I seem to recall that Zaphod Beeblebrox had a third arm fitted to help with his ski-boxing. Is that what you use yours for, @FranticFrankie?

ChristmasStars · 11/04/2026 17:55

Ah I remembered that Zaphod had a third arm but I didn't remember why.

I sent a hot chocolate and a slice of cake in for her earlier.

If you’ve got two heads you’d need an extra hand so you could prop them both up and still have one for doing things with.

EdithStourton · 11/04/2026 18:09

My worst ever burn was a friction burn across most of my fingers and parts of my palm when a dog ripped a longline out of my hand in his enthusiasm to chase a cat. It was f!ck!ng painful, though it got me off washing up for a while.

Hedgehogforshort · 11/04/2026 18:10

Ouch Edith

EmpressaurusKitty · 11/04/2026 17:05

Genius made me a delicious packed lunch, including falafel wraps, a piece of menopause cake & a flask of coffee.

The troons made a bit of a racket but it was a good day, with the highlights being the speeches (including Tracy Edwards & Rosie Duffield) & the songs by Julia Long & Mr Menno. We all joined in with the classic ‘If a person has a penis he’s a man.’

And the dinosaurs!

Edited

I was there too Kitty. The dinosaurs were impressive. Just on the train home after the pub but thought I'd call in the Bluey on the way.

Hedgehogforshort · 11/04/2026 18:18

@EmpressaurusKitty @FarriersGirl well done, i am well jealous

Ha ha who needs a third arm when I've got 2 forearms?
(I'll get my coat)

A third arm would have been very valuable at work actually
