NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #37

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and was expected to last 2 weeks. However, after 2 weeks it was not complete and it adjourned part-heard. It resumed on 16 July and the last day of evidence will be 28 July and then there will be 2 days of submissions from counsel meaning that the hearing will end on 30 July.

The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton gave evidence from Thursday 6 February to Wednesday 12 February.

I love the way that since February NC has had the term “nebulous dog whistle” wrapped up in tissue paper and kept safely in her Useful Phrases For Later Reference Carpet bag, which I imagine holds an infinite number of equally witness destroying comments carefully numbered and indexed.

What a revealing afternoon. It’s quite sad to see professionals who I’m sure in most aspects of their professional lives are caring towards others, being outed as being precisely the opposite.
As is repeatedly pointed out - yet another example of how trans ideology trashes so much that it touches. People end up not just looking foolish (a doctor claiming not to be an expert in identifying a baby’s sex) but are exposed in court for concealing evidence they’re required to provide. All in the interest of a powerful man determined to be in women’s changing rooms.

To be fair, I can't remember the last time I saw a TV show or film that was this gripping!

Maybe there needs to be a court case screening service we could subscribe to, I'd choose it over Netflix!

She is being very careful and due to the dodgy sound very shaky.

Her win rate tells us that she knows exactly what she's doing. She is also well versed in reading the panel as she goes along, she knows exactly how and where to put things and keep everything in context.

It's a dramatic art......you build up the tension...engage the audience with what has been left unspoken......... then comes the denoument at the end....... when you build to a crescendo ........ before the ruthless dispatch. By that time the victim just wants it all over.

Beth felt uncomfirtable that SP didnt want to engage...she was the only one behaving like this - behaving is a terrible way to put it.. i think KS is goosed!!

I don't think KS understands how forensic analysis of audit trails work.

I seem to remember a discussion at the end of the Feb hearing about how much time they would need for the 2nd hearing and I think they decided about 5 days, then the Judge (wisely) said lets do 11 days and if we don't need all the days, so be it.

Clearly a massive underestimation.

I assume the closed conference is about non-disclosure. NC is right there’s a whole load of emails between the first email and KS’ response with RE.

So...that previously undisclosed email referred, where the body text mentioned avoiding foot-in-mouth etc..nobody has seen this apart from NC's team, is that right? It's not been shared in the public domain?

What a great afternoon. Almost glad I’ve got a bad back and can’t do anything.

This case will have done wonders to educate people who don't know much about this ideology.

The fact is, it could have taken place almost anywhere. But it's not just anywhere. It's a HOSPITAL. With educated people who have medical training. And those people are saying they don't know how sex works.
