NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #27

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and was expected to last 2 weeks. However, after 2 weeks it was not complete and it adjourned part-heard. It will resume on 16 July and the last day of evidence will be 28 July and then there will be 2 days of submissions from counsel meaning that the hearing will end on 30 July.

The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton gave evidence from Thursday 6 February to Wednesday 12 February.

I wonder if the finding of the disciplinary process will mean that the hearing will start with applications from NHS Fife about detriments having been removed and that there's no purpose in the case continuing.

Well Sandie has still suffered during the process so I don't think they would want to withdraw any accusations.

Just the timing of the gross misconduct, first day of the original hearing and now the day before it starts again, she is cleared.

It could be viewed that NHS Fife are vexatious in their timings.

WTF! They waited until Tuesday 14 July to do this ! The f**ckers! How dare they do this to her! They know their balls are being nailed to the wall. Carol Potter needs to resign or preferably be sacked for pissing over £220k of taxpayers money down the drain on this. Absolutely dreadful behaviour on the part of all involved at NHS Fife.

Some of the comments on there are hilarious. Sandie Peggie deserved everything that happened to her because she is a racist Trump supporting bigot. And her husband supports white supremacism And her (lesbian) daughter posts anti-LBTQ+ content on social media.

I say it's hilarious, but it quite terrifying really that people can create this narrative to deny someone having recourse to justice.

Sorry been quiet. Got back from hols yesterday. I got a link to observe. Had the WFTCHTJ but now admitted no problem on chrome.
So pleased for SP that she has been cleared of misconduct charges but the WTF about timing. Her stress levels must be through the roof. My thoughts are with her and her family if they are reading this.
Can't even keep up with developments and ET hasn't even started. 🙄

Only 300 to access I think I've definitely left it too late then. Tbh not sure how much time I could devote to it this time around so better off going to others anyway. I look forward to following on here!
