NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board - thread #2

1000 replies

nauticant · 04/02/2025 11:37

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

I’m not a trans person or trans activist but I believe trans people exist and I think it’s really degrading to take someone to court for being trans and identifying as trans, presumably no one is naked, yes they’re biologically male but I can imagine why it’s deeply painful to be constantly reminded of the fact that they’re not a woman if that’s what they believe they are

It is also deeply painful to be subjected to a man's presence in a woman's space when you are getting undressed,

Signalbox · 05/02/2025 12:12

No reference to men or TW only reference to male

Clearly they exist, this whole court case is because a nurse was harassed by one!

Sandy Peggie, the nurse, wanted to change out of her clothes after a heavy period, and didn't want to do so in front of a man. You think she should have been forced to do so?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 05/02/2025 12:13

The having to write every word longhand is ridiculous

Datun · 05/02/2025 12:13

I really, really hope that the judge and the panel are seeing this as normal, neutral people not mired in trans ideology.

The only issue might be that they, like many people before them , feel they must be missing something

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 05/02/2025 12:14

Judge could do with moving his mic closer too!

But they aren't women. Truth hurts, sometimes.

Everything around them confirms that they may believe they have changed sex but it's not possible.

Their DNA, their memories, the mirror, their body, how every person looks at them, how clothes fit, how their body looks. That's why they try to insist we confirm their beliefs.

And this is the deep misogyny of the trans movement.

Women’s bodily autonomy is unimportant.
Women’s dignity and privacy is unimportant.
Women being safe is unimportant.
The trauma of women who are survivors of male sexual violence is unimportant.
The reason why women have single sex spaces is unimportant

All that it’s important is how a man feels, and women have to put up and shut up to support the man.

Thinking men matter more than women is sexism. How can you not see that?

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 12:15

JR statement referring to 2022 sex matters report what your day is that this is a publication of the results of a call to evidence with 7000+ response. Isn't it likely that the respondents would be gender critical

Maya. Not sure people would know outrorganisation it was put out on social media and asked if people were concerned about single sex spaces

Judge interrupts

Maya not specific necessarily to outdoor who knew the organisation

Judge interrupts again

Maya they are answering the question about single sex spaces and why do you value them

JR Asks exactly what the exact question was

Maya not saying it was that verbatim

I wouldn’t have felt comfortable getting changed in front of anyone full stop, let alone if I was on my period. Why get changed in front of anyone? There should be private cubicles

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 12:16

JR that would have been tweeted our to your followers

Well there aren't, and women want single sex which has worked for many years.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/02/2025 12:17

It's not the point @Lovebirdslovetea the point is that however much you want to dance around it, women should not have to share female only spaces with men.

chilling19 · 05/02/2025 12:18

Go Maya - 3 questions - Russell not prepared

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 05/02/2025 12:18

Can JR not read? That 52/48 question was ridiculous

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 12:19

JR annexe 1 of report other research you gov poll 27/1/22

Maya poll done every year and they ask the same questions. Q gives three options

only m and f toilets, 52%

m and f and unisex toilets 35%

only be unisex only 7%

Then don't knows

Hermyknee · 05/02/2025 12:19

There’s so many sexual assaults in hospitals - the last thing you need is more private cubicles @Lovebirdslovetea

ILikeDungs · 05/02/2025 12:19

JR should know: only ask questions if you know the answer

WearyAuldWumman · 05/02/2025 12:20

Harassedevictee · 05/02/2025 12:04

Agriculture - that’s actually helpful, why do you separate bulls from cows, rams from sheep?

As a Twitter friend keeps saying "A ram in a tutu still isnae a sheep."

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 12:20

Maya explaining to panel there's more than one question on the subject of toilets with different percentages in the answers

wantmorenow · 05/02/2025 12:21

The you gov survey supports SP's case. No idea why JC is highlighting it

LondonLawyer · 05/02/2025 12:21

Harassedevictee · 05/02/2025 12:11

It’s interesting that NC didn’t ask any qs so relies on Maya’s witness statements. Obviously she can re-examine.

No, it's standard. The witness statement is the evidence in chief.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 05/02/2025 12:21

JR continuing to argue that TW are not men

legalimmigrant · 05/02/2025 12:22

Well I think that blew up in JR's face.
