NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board - thread #2

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Somethings missing from the bundle I think

A couple of papers have reported : “Beth’s account is she remained fully dressed throughout,” Ms Russell said.”

Which doesn’t match with Dr Upton being in scrubs at the start, removing trousers and leaving in civvy clothes. If Dr Upton was at some point undressed or undressing to some degree then they can’t also claim they “remained fully dressed throughout”.

so it’s good that the panel are digging into the facts and reliability of all the witnesses.

They need the supplemental bundle

JR mentioned yesterday (or Monday?) that the 'underlying report' for one of the Fair Play For Women docs had been included in the bundle ahead of MF appearing, so I imagine that might come up.

To appear as a witness one has to have submitted a written statement in ET. Anyway.

Hope we are all enjoying the sights and sounds of our tribunal system in full flow and organisational efficiency.

I bet any one of us here could have organised it better. With our eyes closed. And wrangling a toddler.

I can't tell you how many organisations I would love to get my hands on, so I can sort them the fuck out. The amount of dilly dallying and wasted time and incompetence is astounding to me.

For example, why does the NHS not have a central HR that would administer to all the regions, we would only then need 4 locations. That way it wouldn't take 9 months to complete a suspension investigation.

If the judge comes back and immediately breaks for lunch i may scream!
