Just that really. One of the pioneers of gender identity bullshit sees nothing wrong with what Hamas did. Can't say I'm too surprised.

Just when you thought she couldn't get more awful

turbonerd · 06/03/2024 10:31

That is just awful.
Hamas wants to obliterate Israel and has no qualms in sacrificing their own population. Sadly Israel at this point seem only too happy to oblige, but to call the attacks on the 7th October «armed resistance» is a liberal rewriting of what actually happened.

Ofcourseshecan · 06/03/2024 10:35

Yes, I’m sure those Hamas men parading and spitting on the broken bodies of the young women they’d raped and murdered were striking a great blow for freedom.

What is wrong with women who can celebrate this?

People have a limit but that doesn't mean they get to rape and murder women and children

Ah yes, that well known form of armed resistance <checks notes> gang rape

Brushcut · 06/03/2024 10:46

@HalebiHabibti Do you think deliberately killing civilians is sometimes justified?

There are a lot of really stupid people who can’t understand the difference between a legitimate military target and civilians. I can understand an argument that there are times when resistance against a military force is necessary, but direct targeting of civilians is never ok. Only someone who has lost all moral reason could think it is.

BackCats · 06/03/2024 10:57

What a total and utter twat.

BackCats · 06/03/2024 11:01

Butler clearly talks out of her backside. In garbled incomprehensible language befitting arse-talk. How and why have her over-wrought brain-farts been taken seriously? In whose interests?

Tell that to Israel?
Do you even understand what Israel have been doing to the Palestinians for decades? It includes but is not limited to raping and murdering them.
Gaza is being flattened.
Genocide is happening right now under your nose and you swallow the propaganda that Israel are just victims?

Circumferences · 06/03/2024 11:13

Butler is an incoherent imbecile usually, but she's right on Palestine.

AlphariusOmegron · 06/03/2024 11:16

This thread isn't going to help anyone in any way. Both sides are completely in the wrong. I'm upset about actions by everyone. How about it's just left there.

NotBadConsidering · 06/03/2024 11:20

Number of women who were raped, sexually assaulted and murdered by Hamas soldiers as a result of launching their “armed resistance” on October 7th: difficult to fully quantify but substantial and not zero.

Number of women who would have been raped, sexually assaulted had Hamas stayed at home that day: zero.

Butler and those who agree with her are basically saying those women are acceptable collateral damage and those acts of sexual violence are excusable.

Despicable.

It’s depressing and upsetting to see

turbonerd · 06/03/2024 11:51

Gaza looked really Nice on all the holiday photos taken Prior to and on 7 th October.

Plenty of refugees (political opponents to Hamas amongst others) finally deemed it safe to return on holidays to visit their families and loved ones. Many had saved for years and had finally dared to travel there on fairly lengthy stays. As they should be able to.

Then Hamas did this and all fucking hell broke loose.
Plenty of palestinians with other nationalities also caught in the mayhem.

HalebiHabibti · 06/03/2024 11:54

"People have a limit but that doesn't mean they get to rape and murder women and children". - I agree. However I think the world's surprise at their actions was a bit disingenuous. If the person I'd been beating down for years suddenly attacked me, I would probably be angry but I could hardly pretend their feelings were surprising.

I don't agree with or condone the actions Hamas took. I can however understand how they mentally got there.

The subsequent responses of Israel are self-fulfilling prophecy, unfortunately. They are trying to murder every Palestinian, because they think every Palestinian wants to murder them. Unfortunately the vast majority now probably do.

ArabellaScott · 06/03/2024 12:10

It's not surprise. It's utter repulsion, disgust and horror.

ArabellaScott · 06/03/2024 12:12

Mass rape, organised rape, torture and murder is not understandable to me, ever. Not for any reason.

And many hostages are still held captive by Hamas.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 06/03/2024 12:15

I have never liked Butler but I never thought she was evil before.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/03/2024 12:16

I agree but this thread will be heavily monitored and patrolled by posters not usually seen on FWR condoning and even supporting Hamas.

Desecratedcoconut · 06/03/2024 12:21

Clearly there is no upper limit of how much harm Butler is happy to inflict on women to serve the men she agrees with.

moofolk · 06/03/2024 12:23

OP your response is exactly what she describes in this video; that calling it armed resistance elicits the response that the speaker defends armed resistance, or this particular attack.

Nuance is needed and your reaction is a knee jerk one.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/03/2024 12:23

And to pander to those elements of the trendy postmodern left who keep her name alive.
