Just that really. One of the pioneers of gender identity bullshit sees nothing wrong with what Hamas did. Can't say I'm too surprised.

Also, what the actual fuck is wrong with you?

You really are quite offensive you know.

Also, back in the 70s we'd have said "take a chill pill". Judging from the frothy venom of your posts you need one.

If you can't take someone using the word fuck I suggest you get off the internet or come back with something more intelligent.

Ah it's all the Palestinians fault for not rolling over and taking it, after someone came and stole their country

Sorry, silly me.

Thats what we tell our kids to do after all, someone took 3/4 of your toys? Well make friends with them or they might take the rest!

The Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah predate the arrival of the Arabs, and then the muslims by over a thousand years. Arabs came from arabia, originally. Islam was only founded in AD 600. Jersualem is the site of the first Jewish temple, and Safed is the the seat of Jewish mysticism. The muslims built a mosque on the ruins of the Jewish temple.

If you can't argue rationally and without personal insults I suggest you do the same.

Can we please return to the original topic before this thread is deleted because of the virulent posts (which is what I suspect the game is)?

I've argued rationally, factually and passionately, clearly pointing out the shortcomings of the other players. I stand by every word.

Especially the early ones trying to head this off because I knew it would be a bin fire.

I absolutely condemn Israel’s actions and the horror of the civilian casualties they’ve caused and the subsequent humanitarian crisis that has ensued. There’s a great deal about Israel’s actions over the years that I condemn.

However, I do not believe any of those actions were an open invitation for Hamas to rape Israeli women. You are saying that’s to be expected. Do you think that? Do you think that:

a) rape of Israeli women is to be expected because of of Israel’s actions and
b) it’s deserved?

People like @AlphariusOmegron are blinded by hate and their tiny closed minds won’t be reasoned with, so I don’t get why people bother engaging. You’re just giving a further platform for the disgusting views he/she’s spouting.

Oh my goodness! Is this for real?

This, above, is what is situated beneath so much of the anti Israel/anti -zionist rhetoric that comes out of the mouths of ideological zealots. Zealots do not need knowledge, or an ability to discuss or construct an argument; all they need is blind faith, and a heavy dose of bigotry.

It is worthwhile to have it exposed, though. But yes, it is all very degraded.

Out of curiosity, for everyone on this thread, what should have happened after the 7/10 attacks? How should have Israel responded?

BackToLurk · 07/03/2024 09:54

AlphariusOmegron · 07/03/2024 09:27

Because, in Israel and the West Bank, they are treated differently on that basis

You said "Jews have equal rights in Israel. Palestinians do not. " Could you explain how in Israel (rather than in a Palestinian territory)* *Jews are treated differently to other Israeli citizens who are not Jewish (as oppose to how non-Israeli citizens are treated). If you want to talk about Palestinian citizens specifically, could you maybe offer a comparison with the way Palestinian citizens are treated in say Lebanon or Jordan?

I think that @AlphariusOmegron is one of those people who ignores the fact that the Ottoman Empire was a colonial power & thinks Islam spread after a series of polite tea parties

In my view the atrocities committed demanded response. How could any state not respond to such savagery?

Hamas need to be dismantled because they committed a genuine act of genocidal barbarity and furthermore have blatantly vowed to keep repeating the same thing. They have been carrying out daily missile strikes for decades and are committed to killing all Israelis. They care nothing for the people of Gaza and have even said, very overtly, that they ( the people) are the responsibility of the UN, not them.

However, it is going to be almost imposible to completey destroy Hamas as it is. As soon as there is a pause or a ceasefire ( which they broke last time by continuing to fire missiles) they use the opportunity to regroup and move their leaders around the network of tunnels. They steal fuel and food from the aid convoys for their own uses.

Egypt will not open its security wall to let the people find refuge ( which would also help Israel finish the job of destroying the tunnel network)as they do not want Hamas or any of the other terrorist groups on their land.

They still have hostages... many of whom have been further raped since they were first taken - and they say that other 'groups' also have some hostages and they don't know where they are. They cannot be trusted to manitain a ceasefire or to release the hostages.

The only solution i can see is one in which surrounding arab countries take action to dismantle Hamas themselves and then clear the ground for a genuine process of peace making.

I doubt AO was even aware that there was such a thing as the Ottoman Empire.

They had to take steps to defend and protect their citizens and try to recover the hostages. They ought to have minimised the effects on civilians as much as possible.

EdithStourton · 07/03/2024 10:08

AlphariusOmegron · 07/03/2024 09:26

Your point being?

I'm very very sure that being anti zionist is a belief worthy of respect in a democratic society.

I would have thought the point was glaringly obvious: it's often not at all clear that being anti-Zionist isn't being antisemitic.

The world is full of ethno-states (Japan, for example), or states where one ethnic group lords it over others (Malaysia, for example - where the indigenous people can have a very hard go of it, never mind Chinese whose families might have been in the country longer than those of some Malays). It's also full of countries where sizeable populations immigrated within recent history and lord ir over the indigenous. Yet somehow it's the JEWISH ethno-state (which has several large minorities who all have the vote) which causes such uproar.

People who wail and scream about the wicked Jews Zionists very. very rarely spend their time making a noise about the situation in Burma, for example.

You have to wonder why.

I actually stepped in to try and get this thread stopped because they always turn into a he said / she said pile of bullshit. You cannot view the October attacks in isolation, just like you can't view killing 30,000 Palestinians in isolation.

You can't view any of it that way and this thread is just making people angry with no resolution.

A rape and terror apologist. Reduxx. Your stated aim is to destroy the thread and prevent discussion. You lot really have no self awareness.

EdithStourton · 07/03/2024 11:16

It's bloody hard to minimise the impact on civilians when you have a terror organisation that embeds itself amongst them and doesn't care if they die.

ArabellaScott · 07/03/2024 11:27

Yep.

Yep.

I agree Israel needed to take action and also minimize casualties. I think Hamas wanted mass casualties and Israel has played into their hands in that respect - it's a useful shield against their publicised atrocities and it would add pressure at the negotiating table. The trickle of food, water and medical supplies going into the exclave is definitely on Israel - you can't tell me the inspection delays are accidental, or the problems over visas for aid workers.

The cynic in me thinks that Israel's doing this to hurt Hamas, but I don't see how, as Hamas doesn't give a crap about the populace and it's the men with guns who are most likely to get the remaining supplies; not the orphaned and sick kids.

At the moment, the reported casualties amount to 1.5% of the Gaza population. That's going to increase rapidly without any aid relief.
