Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gender Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

No long pauses or tiny voice for this witness

YET

Hild0 · 24/01/2024 15:11

She sounds like she's trying very hard to sound confident and competent, as if in a job interview.

It would put their funding at risk even if it didn't put their charitable status at risk.

Someone would have to raise a compliant with the regulator.

Their charitable aims read as follows:

Object:
In particular the Objects shall be: 5.1 to relieve the distress of women, men, boys and girls aged over 12 years who have been raped or who have experienced sexual violence and of their partners, friends and families through the provision of emotional and practical support, information, advice and advocacy; and 5.2 to advance education, through the provision of information, advice and advocacy, among professional bodies and the general public about the causes, nature, extent and effects of rape and sexual violence against women, men, boys and girls aged over 12 years, and ways of preventing or relieving the suffering it causes.

Arguably you could pick that apart.

Edited

I can pick that apart merely by going to the most recent item in my clipboard

"Our service is open to anyone who self identifies as a woman, trans woman, trans man or non-binary person."

conflicts with

"Objects shall be: 5.1 to relieve the distress of women, men, boys and girls"

So quite apart from the current mess, they already appear to be failing to meet their stated function.

"Not the only piece of advice."

Wonder if anyone other than worknest gave advice?

This witness is already oozing misplaced confidence in zemself. How could anyone be so chirpy after seeing NC in action so far, unless they were incredibly dim?

Witnesses aren’t allowed to watch proceedings though?

EDITED: Sorry, just seen someone else has pointed that out.

Yes!!

SelfPortraitWithHagstone · 24/01/2024 15:13

"Can you clarify what you're asking me, please?" Argh, she's waving a twig at the Olympic-level duellist...

Mmmnotsure · 24/01/2024 15:13

KH can you clarify what you are asking me, please? [sounds like she has been practised]

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 15:14

I think she is getting quieter already

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:14

Lots of water drinking

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 15:15

argh I need to do school runs

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 15:15

this is going to be a good one

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:15

Witness trying to come across as very assured in how she carried out her investigation and that everything was done properly.

HarpQuartet · 24/01/2024 15:16

I need to pay more attention, can't see where we're going with these questions

Mmmnotsure · 24/01/2024 15:17

KH We looked at fairness of decision. I looked at was process fair and did I agree with the outcome.

NC you quote policy and say I used these three options and decided to waive stage 1 warning.

KH that's the decision re action. My letter outlined my rationale for the decision. I offered to explain decision in person but RA didn't take me up on that

LoobiJee · 24/01/2024 15:17

Mmmnotsure · 24/01/2024 15:04

NC qs c your role on board. When did you graduate :)!

KH Summer 2022

Is this witness the Student Union Sabbatical Officer trustee?

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:17

I'm not sure where NC is going with this either

ILikeDungs · 24/01/2024 15:17

I wish KH would allow NC to speak before she speaks instead of sprinkling NC's questions with "correct"s and "uhuh"s

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:18

NC catching up witness as to what is known in court

nauticant · 24/01/2024 15:18

KH beginning to falter here.

OP posts:
SelfPortraitWithHagstone · 24/01/2024 15:19

"The nature of the relationship between MW and her relative is what excuses MW's disclosure" - what the fuck? NC rightly questioning what relationship could possibly excuse that disclosure.

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:19

Witness trying to justify MW disclosing about family member sexual assault

nauticant · 24/01/2024 15:20

KH thinks that if MW wants something, well, that takes priority.

OP posts:
Rightsraptor · 24/01/2024 15:20

MW can do no wrong.

SelfPortraitWithHagstone · 24/01/2024 15:20

Apparently it was within MW's rights to make that disclosure, because of the nature of the relationship. Although in general ERCC is very very keen on confidentiality. 🙄
