Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gender Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

There's live tweeting from https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets or if Twitter doesn't show the tweets, look at https://nitter.net/tribunaltweets. There's an informative substack here: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre

I don't think they're allowed to watch anyone else, pronouns.

Ah, that would explain it then.

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 15:01

I'll be honest before I joined the session and was just reading the tweets, I imagined a big fancy courtroom and NC pacing up and down, lots of lovely dark wood.

Not quite the same vibes as the runaway radiator

Poinsettiasarevile · 24/01/2024 15:01

One worry has been niggling at me. NC is amazing, she is not pulling her punches and her questions have gotten right to the heart of just how damaging gender ideology can be to women. Being clear that the enforcement of this belief is absolute through the use of religious language such as heresy & creed is to me a very real parallel but
There is a bit of me that worries that the judges may be tempted to conclude that she/RA are also zealots just of the opposite persuasion and that everyone involved is bonkers. Our ears are so not used to hearing these words said out loud that part of me is shocked.

EmpressaurusOfTheScathingTinsel · 24/01/2024 15:02

Is this one a ze/zem?

pronounsbundlebundle · 24/01/2024 15:02

I don't know I thought I'd use made up pronouns since I haven't been able to ask zem

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2024 15:02

lechiffre55 · 24/01/2024 14:55

It's not MW that's the problem, it's all of them going along with it. The whole lot have to go. The whole board, MW, anyone else who was complicit. There needs to be a proper independant investigation. If one happened I doubt there would be anything left but the name of the organisation as an empty shell with no people.

Agree.

There are numerous examples I've spotted where the board weren't informed of certain things but SHOULD have been asking those questions and should have been exercising due diligence and been on top of how policy was understood and implimented.

Privacy and GDPR is one that sticks out to me. As does not following up on aspects of the disciplinary process.

NecessaryScene · 24/01/2024 15:03

[Notches up one gross misconduct for Empressaurus.]

The witness cannot acknowledge that the service users' needs should come about MW's.

i just cannot believe the cruelty of this.
And the cynicism

HarpQuartet I think you may be under a misapprehension, I'd quite like to see your cat, for one... Go on. Dare you. 😉

Fond memories of Judge Goodmans beautiful (and loud) cat.

lechiffre55 · 24/01/2024 15:01

I don't think wintnesses are allowed to observe proceedings prior to testifying because it might change their testimony. She's a parachutish landing in a minefield who has no idea of all the bodies that are already piled up in the field.

😂

HarpQuartet · 24/01/2024 15:04

KH's LinkedIn says she/her

Mmmnotsure · 24/01/2024 15:04

As a pp said, v chirpy. Lots of yep / yups as she checks through the witness statement with DH

And safeguarding of vulnerable service users - which is very conspicuous in its absence (except from RA).

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:04

Dh is asking waffle questions

NecessaryScene · 24/01/2024 15:04

i just cannot believe the cruelty of this.

I thought for a moment you meant dropping the witnesses in blind, and was inclined to agree.

Doesn't work - NC has picked up on process. Its not all about the subject of trans. Its about the process of how it was dealt with.

See my point above about governance and board responsibilities.

princessleah1 · 24/01/2024 15:04

23 and a trustee!!! That makes no sense. I hope she makes it out of the cross examination alive

Mmmnotsure · 24/01/2024 15:04

NC qs c your role on board. When did you graduate :)!

KH Summer 2022

Chrysanthemum5 · 24/01/2024 15:05

This witness was 21 or 22 when this happened, what experience could she have brought to it? and I don't think she sounds confident, I think she sounds scared, and is trying to cover it up.

How dare MW and Nico hide behind her

nauticant · 24/01/2024 15:05

KH was appointed on 5 April 2021.

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 15:05

hmm I've been booted out. maybe it was my comments about the radiator

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 15:05

There's some tidying up of workspace that's catching my attention with this witness in a way others haven't.

Mmmnotsure · 24/01/2024 15:05

NC You are chair of strategy governance and organisational. Began when you were 22. Heavy responsibilities

KH Heavy for anyone. Board takes ercc work v seriously

Appalonia · 24/01/2024 15:06

Hard to hear NC but witness is v clear
