nauticant · 23/01/2024 19:31

Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gender Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

There's live tweeting from https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets or if Twitter doesn't show the tweets, look at https://nitter.net/tribunaltweets. There's an informative substack here: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre

Thanks for the new thread.

Who'd have thought employment tribunals could be so gripping!

If you've seen the number of channels on YouTube that comment and stream hearings from US courts everywhere (traffic, family, murder trials, pre-trial, probation, sentencing), people would pay good money to watch the streaming or recordings of Employment Tribunals.

It truly is Open Justice in practice. I now know more about the nuances of laws and judiciary in various states in the US than I do about the nations of the UK and our own judicial system.

Could a kind person please @ me tomorrow in this thread when the proceedings start, so that I can find the right page?

I’m hopelessly behind. I think I’ve just about caught up. Haven’t even started on the TT threadreader links though.

ArabellaScott · 23/01/2024 20:50

Next time there's a big ET I'd appreciate it if they could check with me and make sure I can clear space in my diary first. GUTTED to miss this. Thanks for the threads.

I know, right? Last night I actually found myself saying: sorry, can we give the telly a miss tonight, I’ve got a brand new (155 page) ET judgment I want to read.

An ode to Tribunal Tweets:

TO TWEET OR NOT TO TWEET

Tribunal Tweets have fingers like ninjas
as they tweet and report on non binary whingers.
They keep us updated on all the court cases
that cause all the looks of shock on our faces.
So hats off to them and their typing speed
and make sure you follow their Twitter feed.

I appreciate that things may change over time and that not everything that appears on the internet is true but this is from LabourList in 2018:

That is why Rape Crisis Scotland and Scottish Women’s Aid say that that they happily “provide trans inclusive services on the basis of self-identification”.

Not a Scottish song, but -

Oh Danny (Boy/Girl/Whatever), the courts, the courts are calling
From Edinburgh, and down to Morningside.
The silence gone, and all the lies are falling,
And you and I, know truth must come and bide.
So come back Maya, Allison and Rachel,
And Jo, and all the others yet to fight,
To join the women (and some men, too), watching
To see what happens when we shine some light.

Thank you for the new thread!

Huge applause for all the updates.

And now the recipes, poetry and songs are coming out so I'm glad I've spent three days transfixed to these threads and TT instead of doing anything useful

Rainbowshit · 23/01/2024 22:13

Thanks for the new thread @nauticant ! Never expected it to run to 4 threads when I started the first one.

Karensalright · 23/01/2024 22:17

Okay if we are getting into poems here is one not written by me

Puppy eyes, tearing claws
Spitting pride
Roll over, roll over

Pretty please play chase away
Chase away

Nasty nasty snapping
Nasty biting spitting
Nasty nasty

Hammer hammer teeth nails
Sit sit sit sit

Bitch wont beg bitch wont lick
Bitch cant do those clever tricks

Heal fetch, run, lie
Nasty snapping nasty nasty

see those eyes puppy eyes
Roll over and die die

You bad dog, playful dog
With sugar and spice
Nasty nice nasty nice

Slip the lead fight fight
my bark is softer than my bite
roll over roll over

Mock each chewing spewing mouthful
hammer hammer teeth nails
bad dog you bad dog

Good girl, pat pat
Bad dog smack smack
Here’s a bitch
who will give it back

Snap snap snap snap
Puppy eyes will start to play
this nasty dog will have its day

This is heaven
this is hell
this is living
this is tale to tell
this is drive wheel
this is cog
this is master this is snarling dog
this is hammer
this is spanner
this is no sir
this is table manners
this is history
this is how its been
this is over and over and over again
