Journalist Dominique Samuels has posted video of one of their events: https://twitter.com/dominiquetaegon/status/1630948003962912768?s=61&t=gd6tu0Iz6JpyKXGLWMLGjg

Which features men gyrating and hanging from the ceiling surrounded by a crowd of clueless women and their babies.

I would say it's NSFW but it's apparently safe for babies so have a watch.

Here's a reddux article:

https://reduxx.info/uk-sold-out-rave-for-babies-featuring-drag-queens-prompts-outrage/

Since the video went viral, the company has taken down its website and Facebook and made their Instagram private. I wonder why? Confused

Hi all,
We have received a complaint from someone who says their baby features in this photo and they would like us to remove it. On balance we think this is the right thing to do.

Deadringer · 02/03/2023 09:31

Why would parents and babies need to see that shit? Grown men wearing almost nothing gyrating around, yuck. And i know its beside the point, but the performers are beyond crap, my friend's dd does that silk rope stuff and she is so graceful and elegant doing it, that guy is just rubbish. A headstand in a thong? Hardly groundbreaking stuff. Just awful.

Clymene · 02/03/2023 09:33

Their next booking is at the Vault Festival.

Here's what they say on their website: CABABABARAVE is an exciting new event for parents and their babies!
A little slice of afternoon delight that provides show-stopping cabaret interspersed with captivating baby sensory moments.. ending in a RAVE.
Hosted by Lizzie and Gemma – Two performers turned mums who were constantly looking to be entertained whilst holding a baby in one hand and a pint in the other.. so CABABABARAVE was born.
“We wanted to create the type of event we ourselves as Mums would want to go to. There’s only so many times you can listen to the f**king Wheels on the Bus. We wanted to give parents the experience of a ‘big London night out’.. cabaret, drinks and dancing.. but one you can bring your baby to and still be home for bedtime”

The Vault Festival is a very trans heavy queer theory arts festival with a lot of emphasis on sex.

Sheesh. Would someone mind stopping the world please, I’d like to get off now.

WTAF??? I have no words.

They're really bad aren't they? Why would anyone pay to watch them?

WTF is about all I can manage. Unbelievable.

CeratopsofthePharoahs · 02/03/2023 09:40

"A little slice of afternoon delight" eh?
Good grief, they really can't help themselves.

bunnypenny · 02/03/2023 09:44

I don’t follow them but here’s their explanation for making their SM private

DysonSpheres · 02/03/2023 09:44

I'm intellectually tired. I think I'm at the point where I start acknowledging that, if the moral compass of some parents is so far left, it is at: "if you sail too far, you'll drop off the edge of the earth" stage, then let them do what they want! No argument from me.

I can't be asked to get upset, I don't blame the drag queens. Everyone needs to get dosh during a cost of living crisis. I blame the idiot 'parents' enthusiastically supporting it by bringing their babies, and one thing I support is parental choice, so they may do as they may legally do. Bloody fed up of it all.

Fucking hell, they're arguing that the babies are too young to know what's going on? I hope they get prosecuted:

12
Causing a child to watch a sexual act
(1)
A person aged 18 or over (A) commits an offence if—
(a)
for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, he intentionally causes another person (B) to watch a third person engaging in an activity, or to look at an image of any person engaging in an activity,
(b)
the activity is sexual, and
(c)
either—
(i)
B is under 16 and A does not reasonably believe that B is 16 or over, or
(ii)
B is under 13.

I wonder just what the ‘baby sensory’ section involves?

Helleofabore · 02/03/2023 10:01

Why do they think the issue is with the gender identity of the performers?

Have the people behind this company lazily misdirected this as issues with the gender of the performers instead of acknowledging the sexual aspect? Or are they saying that trans performers are always in intertwined with sexual performances?

that Act isn't relevant here unless you're suggesting that the people running the shows are doing it "for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification" (as required under ss(1)(a) that you've quoted?). It's also not relevant to the performers.

Clymene · 02/03/2023 10:09

What's the point of nearly naked men gyrating in front of you in fetish gear if it isn't for sexual gratification @bunnypenny?

Why do they think the issue is with the gender identity of the performers?

Did you ever see that Pedophile Manifesto from the early 2010s that Dr EM posted a link to a couple of years ago?
It had a section on how to tar anyone who objected to their proposed long term campaign of gradual boundary blurring as a TERF.

Well If they are arguing that the babies are too young to know whats going on the only other benefit is for the performers themselves. What are they getting out of performing to babies and toddlers if they apparently dont know whats going on?

BloodyHellKen · 02/03/2023 10:12

It looks a bit like a really crap attempt at Cirque du Soleil but with added bum-cheeks 😂I honestly don't understand why anyone would go to see this with a child, or even offer it up as entertainment outside of a nightclub.

AlisonDonut · 02/03/2023 10:13

The thing that everyone completely misses, is that the babies are not the audience.

They are the show.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 02/03/2023 10:13

watching that video gives me the panicky feeling I get in my stomach when I think a child is in danger

the crawling baby at the end looking up at the scantily dressed man Sad

bunnypenny · 02/03/2023 10:13

@Clymene
you've misunderstood that legislation. The Act covers situations where someone gets sexual gratification from making a child watch something sexual.

It doesn't cover getting sexual gratification from watching the something sexual.

the performers could possibly fall under other legislation, but not the one quoted. The performers are the "third persons" covered in that section, so it's not applicable to them.

Fair enough. IANAL if it wasn't obvious.

Is there no law that determines what is appropriate and inappropriate entertainment for children? That seems like a gaping hole in the law.

I don't buy the 'they're too young to know what's going on' line.

to be fair, I'm with the PP who blames the parents for taking their babies to this

I mean WHAT THE FUCK? people
