Caba Baba Rave - take your baby to watch nearly naked men in fetish gear

Journalist Dominique Samuels has posted video of one of their events: https://twitter.com/dominiquetaegon/status/1630948003962912768?s=61&t=gd6tu0Iz6JpyKXGLWMLGjg

Which features men gyrating and hanging from the ceiling surrounded by a crowd of clueless women and their babies.

I would say it's NSFW but it's apparently safe for babies so have a watch.

Here's a reddux article:

https://reduxx.info/uk-sold-out-rave-for-babies-featuring-drag-queens-prompts-outrage/

Since the video went viral, the company has taken down its website and Facebook and made their Instagram private. I wonder why? Confused

In the general sense, I think sometimes it can be ok to take babies to thinks that are basically for parents, and too old for kids. I've watched movies with a baby that I wouldn't with older kids, for example.

But this is not well thought out, even if it is just clueless which I am not at all sure of. It doesn't really come across as for mums with the set-up, and an in person event that's very sexualized is just not quite the same, yk?

A lot of these parents are just sheep, is my view.

drspouse · 02/03/2023 10:22

The adults performing in the show are obviously getting sexual gratification from making babies (and toddlers/preschoolers who ARE old enough to think it's weird) watch something sexual.

HotWaterBottleAndABook · 02/03/2023 10:23

The baby cinema is an interesting angle. I’d argue that 2d pictures on a screen are not the same as real adults gyrating in from if you.

I would personally never take my baby to the cinema showing adult films (neither would I like them to be a 'child actor' in a soap with people acting arguments over their heads, but those are other arguments for another day.

AlisonDonut · 02/03/2023 10:13

The thing that everyone completely misses, is that the babies are not the audience.

They are the show.

I think that is pretty clear from the pictures.

On one level you might think it's like taking your babe in arms to a relaxed cinema showing of an 18 rated movie but this is nothing like it the babies are the performance.

Why anyone thinks this is appropriate is beyond me, the parent's are out of their minds.

Sunriseinwonderland · 02/03/2023 10:23

There is no way any child of mine would ever be taken to see that shit. I have plenty of gay friends and live in Glastonbury which is alternative central but no child should be exposed to a man in a fetish thong or normalise any of that stuff.
Mind you I feel particularly aggrieved because my H left me for fet life nonsense. Something I have zero interest in.
What happened to fluffy bunnies and Beatrix Potter.
Aren't kids allowed to stay innocent now?

7Worfs · 02/03/2023 10:23

Well that’s one way to ensure these children don’t develop healthy boundaries…

The adults performing in the show are obviously getting sexual gratification from making babies (and toddlers/preschoolers who ARE old enough to think it's weird) watch something sexual.

And that’s a clear KEY difference. The performers are Lesley to be getting their kicks from performing like that.

Cma1988 · 02/03/2023 10:24

It’s child abuse in broad daylight

lifeturnsonadime · 02/03/2023 10:25

Aren't kids allowed to stay innocent now?

No we are pearl clutching transphobes for saying this is inappropriate.

Dizzydebbie88 · 02/03/2023 10:26

Their shows include ‘burlesque’ which involves a lady stripping to her pants and some nipple pasties.

A man takes his t shirt and trousers off and does some acrobatics.

The hanging from the ceiling BDSM act is an accident waiting to happen if kids copy that.

These parents obviously have zero understanding of child development- do they think their kids don’t have eyes or a memory? These images are being absorbed into those little developing brains and are likely to be recalled at any time over the next few years.

I really despair.

Helleofabore · 02/03/2023 10:45

So, is this supposed to be 'racy' entertainment like watching the Chippendales with all the lights up bright knowing you have to pop off to feed or change your baby at any moment?

I still cannot work it out. I understand the concept very well. Providing some kind of 'show' for parents so they don't feel like they are 'missing out'. And each to their own. But seriously, watching sexual performances with a fractious baby who will not sleep with all that happening and who is demanding food or needs to be cleaned...

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 02/03/2023 10:45

Did it not occur to these organisers that the reason this sort of event (drinking alcohol, sexualised performance & presumably several hours of amplified music in an enclosed space?) didn’t already exist in the daytime is precisely because it isn’t actually suitable for babies and children?

We have a nighttime watershed for very practical reasons, it’s not just to inconvenience The Very Cool Mummies.

I love a night out, me, including some pretty bizarre subcultural stuff and I don’t seem to be growing out of it with age.
The difference between me and these women is I know not to book a Death Metal band in full corpse paint for the Nursery School PTA Summer Fete.

Some things are just for grown ups, get a bloody baby sitter and some healthy, age appropriate boundaries between your adult partying life and your parenting life.

Compartmentalism isn’t a negative mental trait, it’s a useful tool for day to day life!

🤘

Spidergloves · 02/03/2023 10:48

I took my babies to cinema screenings and a comedy club, dance events and things like that, that had the aim of giving parents some daytime entertainment. I get that the babies won't know what's going on/ sleep through in the dark anyway.

They were in cinemas and theatres, so it felt like a treat to get out, have the lights go down, have a nice drink and be somewhere with some atmosphere.

This just looks crap. The cabaret looks like very poor entertainment and the setting, broad daylight in a bogstandard hall, sat on the floor, is just depressing. And weird. So no wonder it's setting off alarm bells.

Cabaret can be great, arguably you could make an event like this work like a variety show (was anything else on the bill apart from this lot?), include gender non-confirming acts, etc.

The way this company have framed opposition to their dodgy show as something anti trans identities is telling. Flashbacks to the Family Sex Show.

CremeEggsForBreakfast · 02/03/2023 10:54

If it was held in a proper theatre with proper stage lighting etc then I might say "yes. The babies will sleep and the parents get an afternoon out. It's not for me but okay". But this is clearly aimed at the children given everyone is sitting on a mat on the floor and the performers are actively engaging with the babies etc.

It's weird at best and downright suspicious at worst.

As someone else said it's giving flashbacks to The Family Sex Show

Hooklander · 02/03/2023 10:56

I wonder if the venue is licensed. And if so, what as?

29052022J · 02/03/2023 10:58

Yeah it seems kind of odd, a couple of mums I know took their babies but I declined. Not sure what it is with drag queens need to perform and babies/children at the moment but it seems unnecessary. Like that news article about the drag queen in a school talking about 73 genders 🙄 Next it’ll be fisherthem going into schools lecturing children on misgendering a profession.

ColdMeg · 02/03/2023 10:59

Hooklander · 02/03/2023 10:56

I wonder if the venue is licensed. And if so, what as?

Yes. How do these performances not require a Sexual Entertainment Venue license?

It's quite clearly nudity.

Helleofabore · 02/03/2023 10:59

Why are any performers lauded for doing these moves in stilettos? Who the fuck finds that 'sexy'?

There are so many questions going around in my head about this.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 02/03/2023 11:00

This is an event that's been established for quite some time, and the events always sell out. Many of the London mum Instagram accounts highly recommend it.

A social media pile on is not on at all.

Presumably if you do not want to attend this type of event, then dont go. Not everyone hates drag acts.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 02/03/2023 11:00

If it wasn’t so inappropriate an audience the bondagey-y dude hanging from the ceiling would be hilariously funny.

He’s completely shit at whatever aerial work he is supposedly performing, he’s wriggling about like he’s just been caught in the classic net-booby-trap ruse:

How much do tickets cost for this tosh?

’Money for old rope’ comes to mind.

Money for very ropey old rope.

It’s getting hard to believe that this isn’t the point of the whole thing, isn’t it? Added bonus of desensitising adults to witnessing inappropriate behaviour around children.

True. Why the massive stripper heels? He could have someone's eye out with that level of mastery. Surely he could do something graceful barefoot or in ballet shoes, etc.
