No that does not help, I still don't know what your point is? It was not blackface. It was a costume and parody of the Black Pampers or Black Ninjas as they were termed in Manchester. And one of them the individuals on black bloc did have a cut out for their mouth in Manchester. They were called Pampers (the nappy brand) because they were so young and we joked that their mums had probably dropped them off to pick up later. There were many women of colour in Manchester and at least two black women did a speech you can see this on Kelly Jays you tube channel. Women don't hide what we say all the talks speeches etc are there to watch not just Kelly Jay Keen but Women's Place and lots of other organisation.

It is rather tiresome to put out that we are all middle aged, white women who are right wing racists. It simply isn't true, but keep believing that if it makes you feel better rather than engaging in the actual debate. Women are used to be being demonised (witches, bitches, cuts, cs, TE*F) but it won't make us stop defending women's rights and meeting to discuss those rights.

I'm really looking forward to June in Hyde Park and so oury young daughters. Really sad I can't get to Bristol.

To be honest, I think some of those photos look dreadful. They made me squirm and I say that knowing the context, and remembering that even luminaries like Julie Bindel were laughing and retweeting the Black Pampers meme only a couple of weeks ago. But I am also unimpressed at posters trying to use the Black Mumsnetters board to (and I quote) 'settle' an argument. I thought it was meant to be a place where black posters could talk among themselves, uninterrupted, about whatever they choose?
