BC translation - 'understood' = stop trying to deflect and answer my question

missgoodytwoshoes · 20/05/2022 14:58

Does the respondents have to “prove it” though? Could it be on the balance of probabilities that of course there must have been gossip, it would be extraordinary if there wasn’t. And him being Michelle brewers clerk , of course he would have heard the news about Allison which could have impacted the way he clerked her.

tabbycatstripy · 20/05/2022 14:58

Exactly, Apple.

And (although I’m white so I’ll happily be corrected) I think the particular form of misogynoir is that it affects black women, rather than (for example) Asian women or Chinese women.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 20/05/2022 14:59

LoHo is also, along with Tom Wainwright and Michelle Brewer, a member of the GCC Transrights Working Group, set up in 2018 for members who worked on trans issues and issues around reform of the Gender Recognition Act.

tabbycatstripy · 20/05/2022 15:00

So I’d say I’ve never heard that anyone particularly stereotypes women of Indian heritage as ‘angry’, for example, but I know black women are stereotypes in that specific way.

Placemarking - still catching up on last thread. Thanks everyone Flowers

Moya Bailey and Trudy coined it specifically about black women and their erasure.

No gossip!!!! - absolute bollocks!!!!!
It is quite literally an unwritten part of the job description of every clerk to know all the gossip in chambers and as much as possible from other chambers.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/05/2022 15:03

Good luck with wading through that particular quagmire, Louise!

It changes every 15 minutes and no 2 people give the same answer to a simple question.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:03

Ooh. Spousal veto.

chilling19 · 20/05/2022 15:04

Sorry, what?

chilling19 · 20/05/2022 15:05

'Identify' as feminists? FFS

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:06

Hmm. She didn't say the quote about Birkenstocks and we all know what that's shorthand for.

chilling19 · 20/05/2022 15:06

What is LH doing?

Pyjamagame · 20/05/2022 15:07

Is she a GCC GC?

Signalbox · 20/05/2022 15:07

.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/05/2022 15:07

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:06

Hmm. She didn't say the quote about Birkenstocks and we all know what that's shorthand for.

Yeah and so does she, which is clearly why she wanted to distance herself from it.

chilling19 · 20/05/2022 15:08

What is the Birkenstock shorthand?

Pyjamagame · 20/05/2022 15:09

Maybe not.....

dworky · 20/05/2022 15:09

Getting a bit arsey

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/05/2022 15:09

'The harm being done to the trans community'

GTFO!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 20/05/2022 15:10

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:06

Hmm. She didn't say the quote about Birkenstocks and we all know what that's shorthand for.

I don't but I'm guessing it implies ladies who like hikes?

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:10

It's a not particularly polite way of referring to lesbians.

She is also upset. The Fuck the LGB Alliance article that she emailed to Michelle Brewer upset her.

I wasn't expecting her to be key but she's important.

Mollyollydolly · 20/05/2022 15:10

She looked sane, now she's talking absolute shite.

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/05/2022 15:10

This feels like we are getting into the upper echelons of the trans belief hierarchy now we have LH talking about it openly
