So, when are they going to quantify what they mean by harm? What data are they using? If it's non-crime hate incidences we all know that is nonsense. And the suicide stats are bollocks. So what are we left with? Hurt feelings. Boo Hoo.

Some have argued that it is a narcissist injury (rage). But I don't know enough about it to know if this is a real thing.

Pyjamagame · 20/05/2022 15:45

Totally gives a flavour of what Allison would have been up against with such strong opposing views and intolerance to other's views. And you can't tell me she didn't mouth off in the clerks' room.

Bless Allison...LH has unwittingly painted a very hostile picture of life in Chambers.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky
i wonder why she’s so invested

This is what I can't understand. Why would an intelligent woman buy into this very odd belief system?

Some very well-educated and privileged women seem to find it all rather exciting.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:48

Can we all meet up in real life in the future for tribunal reunions?

BenCooperisaGod · 20/05/2022 15:48

Are we done for the day. Just dialled back in

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/05/2022 15:49

Luxury beliefs.

She presumably doesn't need to concern herself with grubby things like men in womens prisons, etc.

TheBiologyStupid · 20/05/2022 15:49

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 20/05/2022 15:43

😄Well, I hope we get a shout if we can re-connect for the next witness. How will that happen, was a time given?

Just reconnect now and wait for the "Waiting for the conference host to join" message to stop.

Lougle · 20/05/2022 15:49

I loved the answer though. It was like she was saying that AB didn't Self-ID as transphobic so she couldn't call her transphobic but the tweets show that she was....kind like the whole essence of the self-ID world.

There's a CMH...back soon. 👍

Seems like this witness just wanted to state her credentials as a trans ally, with no reference how this would impact the case.

Definitely, you could see her really delivering it to camera

nauticant · 20/05/2022 15:40

I do like a tiny sprinkle of otiose LipbalmOrKnickers but it's definitely not something to overdo.

nicely done nauticant 👏

Nope, another witness to come but private case management hearing first.

But AB does identify as a feminist.

Whatever gibberish that's supposed to mean.

Thanks so much for this thread, it really helps me catch up!

Regarding gossip - has anyone ever worked in an office without gossip? I've only worked in one office (and a few schools) and they've all be rife with gossip.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 20/05/2022 15:50

Seems like this witness just wanted to state her credentials as a trans ally, with no reference how this would impact the case.

Yep. I'm surprised she didn't wrap herself in a trans flag, or have one pinned up behind her. She might as well have.
The irony of talking about a violence against women conference, and then talking about the "harms" women do by not accepting TWAW.
The batshittery was flying loud and proud, with no care for logical contradictions and no care for the case, with that witness.

dworky · 20/05/2022 15:51

Luxury beliefs, even the most vulnerable women are of no concern to them.

DelurkingLawyer · 20/05/2022 15:51

nauticant · 20/05/2022 15:43

So is the tactic that when you've got the witness to say something completely batshit that you then take a view not to ask anything else so that the biggest memory of the witness is the last batshit thing they came out with?

That is exactly as I read it. The tribunal can then reflect on whether someone like LoHo would ever act in a way that is prejudicial to AB because of the conflict in their views.

It is also because if you ask more questions it gives the witness an opportunity to row back from their more batshit evidence.

Zeugma · 20/05/2022 15:52

I keep just avoiding all the moments of high drama. Logged back in at the very moment LoHo was being told she could go. Sounds like I missed a doozy.

I was so disappointed I had to resort to one of the emergency comfort Twixes you lot forced me to buy this morning. Damn you all <shakes fist>

InvisibleDragon · 20/05/2022 15:52

What impact is LH2's evidence likely to have on the case? She is clearly invested in a particular belief system and pushed for GCC to behave in ways aligned with this belief - distancing from LGBA, adding material about suicide stats to tweets etc.

But does any of that demonstrate detriment towards Allison?

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 20/05/2022 15:53

LouHoo was the one who mentioned mumsnet in her statement.
About man celebrating a woman’s place being involved with GCC and the ‘anti-trans activities’.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 20/05/2022 15:54

About MN* celebrating…

Helleofabore · 20/05/2022 15:54

I think that EJ has a very good grasp of this all now.

And yes, LH absolutely did just describe the hostile nature of chambers with that session. And simply could not help to leave it hanging that the implication is that they believe AB is transphobic but pivoted it to make it seem centred on what AB thinks of herself. Which was not actually relevant.

SpindleInTheWind · 20/05/2022 15:55

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 20/05/2022 15:48

Can we all meet up in real life in the future for tribunal reunions?

I'd love to, if it's safe to do so. I feel we're well overdue some RL MN meet-ups.

gal-dem.com/fuck-the-lgb-alliance/

Is this the article in question?

Direct quote from this article

"The UK seems to have a unique and intense brand of transphobia, with online forum Mumsnet becoming a primal spot for anti-trans sentiment. Many feminist intellectuals unashamedly and vocally express their issues with trans people on these forums."
