She was basically saying that yes she can imagine how some lesbians would feel at having their sexual boundaries pushed as she is a woman and knows what that feels like. But it was the way she spat it at him with raised volume. The whole thing at that point was more courtroom drama than court.

ResisterRex · 18/05/2022 20:21

JFC. From nauticant's link. "Fucking across difference", in which:

"when we get over the idea that relationships between women are equal playing fields, this hard work can have such sweet rewards"

Of course "women" = all humans.

Artichokeleaves · 18/05/2022 20:30

To this day, I'm astonished that SW thought this Cotton Ceiling workshop A Good Idea. I can only think that if they consulted a focus group, there were few, if any, lesbians present.

SW have quietly shifted the definition of LGB to meaning 'people compliant with a particular TQ+ political view' rather than 'diverse group whose sole connecting characteristic is being homosexual'.

So - Lesbian = person who believes woman is anyone of any sex who wishes to call themselves one, and that homosexual women must validate this by being blind to biological sex and prepared to 'overcome' the prejudice of being homosexual if this denies sexual relations to biological males.

All non compliant persons have been ditched as unclean, (chucked out of Pride, drummed out of groups). So the focus group would have been SW's own personal definition of lesbian.

Not lesbian as anyone else would understand it.

And SW have not shared that they have changed the definition and drummed out and rejected any LGB persons non compliant but still like to give the impression that they are representing all LGB people and are the one and only champion of, because all kinds of money and power and helpful PR involved in that which benefits their core TQ+ mission.

Hence why the LGBA is such a massive threat and the focus of such targeted rage. And Allison. And sunlight.

I wonder how many normies will look up the Terf Is A Slur website?

I reckon it’ll be cutted up pear by 4pm

Is there a specific reason for the "cutted up pear" thing, or just a general allusion to overtired little kids having a strop?

For those of you not able to watch:

I don't know what the other QCs we've seen are like on the other side of the table because I've never watched any legal proceedings except on TV but BC is an artist. He lures them in, gently, gently, he's quietly spoken and kindly. He has a big bushy gingery beard, slightly apologetic tone. He leads the witnesses into an corner and then traps them. Bang! They realise, too late, what has happened. And that's when they begin to crumble. And he keeps on with his gentle questions and they get more and more annoyed and then eventually totally lose their cool. And he brings it back down again and then ramps it up. And again. Until they totally lose it, blurt out something they didn't mean to say, and then he says "no more questions".

It is astonishing to watch. He is an absolute master and worth every penny I/we/Allison has paid.

This is a beautiful representation for those of us not able to log on to view/hear what's going on.

Given the description of Ben C QC, I am throwing Sam Ryder in as a candidate for the movie. No idea if he can act, but that's my visual impression. Kind of a Ben C QC/Thor mash up?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 18/05/2022 20:41

How does a public enquiry get off the ground, cos whether AB wins or loses, SW need to go?

I very much hope that Allison wins, of course. 🤞🏻

ZandathePanda · 18/05/2022 20:43

Won’t Stonewall and their definition be illegal after the LGB conversion therapy laws come into place?

nauticant · 18/05/2022 20:43

It's this GAHgamel:

@GAHgamel Sacrilege!

Search 'cutter up pear' in the classics section here on MN & you'll get it.

stimpyyouidiot · 18/05/2022 20:44

BC is great. Totally unflappable. Calm. Never raises his voice. Gets his point across while being unfailingly polite. Deals with the barristers asking questions back to him or talking over him with softly spoken reminders.

GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 18/05/2022 20:45

nauticant · 18/05/2022 20:43

Awesome, saves the hassle of searching for it. I thought the title was cutted up pear.

Lougle · 18/05/2022 20:54

I love the way he says 'Stay with me and answer the question I'm asking....'

Ameanstreakamilewide · 18/05/2022 20:55

I'm going to start saying 'very well'. It seems pretty versatile.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 18/05/2022 20:59

Seem to be a fair few lesbians on this thread a little bit in love with Ben Cooper.

CriticalCondition · 18/05/2022 21:03

I love watching BC.
He's like a super intelligent Viking geek with a laser stare.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 18/05/2022 17:49

I don't, sorry. I bought the Derwent Inktense blocks because they're a halfway house: you can draw with them, then brush water over bits of the drawing to get a painting, or use a wet brush on the block itself & paint with that. I'm only at the experimental stage.

Have a look on cult pens, in particular at diamine inks. They're a bit heavily pigmented for fountain pens, it doesn't do the nib any good but for painting they're lovely and they range from small inexpensive pots to fantastic fantasy colours that have glitter in.

I'm imagining all the clerks as Joe from This Life but I get the sense they're more diverse than that.

Ha, exactly this. I have This Life as my 'chambers' frame of reference. There was one rather nice-looking clerk who was on the screen briefly the other day.

As opposed to "Very good; very strong". Grin I've always wanted to do this in a meeting but never quite had the nerve.

Artichokeleaves · 18/05/2022 21:19

Cutted up pear really is sadly right on the nail.

Right down to hurling the pear and kicking in the shins.

HairyBum · 18/05/2022 21:26

Please could someone explain the gist of MIAs time giving evidence.

Binglebong · 18/05/2022 21:53

I didn't get the chance to say this on the last thread but thank you to the posters who provided the link for the daily round up.

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/05/2022 21:58

Thank you to everyone watching and posting. TT is great - but obviously - you don't get the huffs and strops.

Ditto - my only experience of what a 'chambers' actually is! I bloody loved Anna.

Coatandhat · 18/05/2022 22:39

I logged on to the hearing for the first time Monday & Tuesday and slogged through the very dry examination of billing with RM. Am so upset that I had to go to work today and miss the drama of today's hearing 😭Thank you all for bringing it to life. On a different note, can't believe those coy references to "sexual health" sounding like taking care of the hygiene of your bits when what they really mean is men getting their leg over.
