Oh bless you, yes yesterday was dry as a bone. Today was quite extraordinary. But who knows what tomorrow might hold??

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 18/05/2022 22:46

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus SW didn't have anything to do with the cotton ceiling workshop - it was held in 2012 by Planned Parenthood Toronto, but it was run by a person who was later hired by SW in the UK.

Yellownotblue · 18/05/2022 22:47

@CheeseComa , delurking to say that yes, we use diagrams sometimes. But what we always do is create a document called a Dramatis Personae, which lists all the names of literally everyone ever mentioned in the case, who they work for, and their job title. It’s an essential document that is agreed by the parties and also provided to the judge/panel.

Disclaimer - I don’t have an Employment Tribunal background so I don’t know if they also use DPs.

drwitch · 18/05/2022 22:49

I'm now thinking of a this life +20. Anna has to be the judge. Miles AH I guess, the one that became Tina in EastEnders as AB -she went back to college after getting together with Joe- what else?

drwitch · 18/05/2022 22:50

By the way didn't Jane Fallon (partner of Ricky Gervais write it) so she could be on of us too

Annoyingly, I can't watch tomorrow pm, but I'm sure BC will have time enough to have JK in knots well before lunch (the early start is a bonus, too). She'll be in the mood for that murder on Monday.

Have very much enjoyed reading everyone's contributions as again I wasn't able to log in sadly.

Now off to catch up on tribunal tweets which are here: threadreaderapp.com/thread/1526841192775917568.html

I've been musing that a significant advantage that BC has, among many excellent barristering qualities, is that in this case he simply wants the witnesses to tell the truth.

He's not seeking to lead them through trickery to a false narrative - he's asking very clearly for the truth. And he's very good at doing that, and/or showcasing the respondants' evasions and irascibility.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 19/05/2022 00:00

I've so enjoyed the posts here.

Allison seems to be in safe hands out there.

Looking to tomorrow (when I will try not to arrive in the courtroom just as someone is saying something they fear is a bit dodgy... or will choose a less alarming name).

I feel that GCC were hampered in their being barrister's in this case. They approached the matter of AB as if they were the barristers for Stonewall and so everything they did and said was with a positive outcome for their client, Stonewall. They were not capable of putting aside their allegiances and looking at the matter from a neutral standpoint and coming to an impartial judgement.

Perhaps that will work out well for Stonewall because I really don’t think much of their barristers.

I’ve never needed a barrister before and hopefully I shan’t in the future but I do now have a list of people I would not dream of hiring (and only two I would engage).

I said much the same thing DifficultBloodyWoman - I imagine our short-lists consist of the same two people!

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 18/05/2022 20:59

Seem to be a fair few lesbians on this thread a little bit in love with Ben Cooper.

He said knickers. Reader i swooned....

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 06:25

Thanks @oviraptor21. Im now much more confident having read the preliminary judgment. I think she's got a good case. Michelle Brewer's evidence is going to be vital. It all comes down to her and her influence within chambers I think.

HairyBum · 19/05/2022 06:31

can anyone outline Mias take on things please

I syspect that if he was appearing for the defendants his trickery would also be excellent...

SW didn't have anything to do with the cotton ceiling workshop - it was held in 2012 by Planned Parenthood Toronto, but it was run by a person who was later hired by SW in the UK.

You can hear a lot more about that person, and the sort of stuff going on in those communities, from detransitioner Benji (GNCcentric), who was personally involved. Interview here from 2019:

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 19/05/2022 07:30

could that or a transcript be used as evidence? It proves Alison’s concerns well-founded about this specific person and they have made rather a big deal about her expressing those concerns.

And it’s apparently not to late to introduce new evidence judging by the Terfy McTerfface incident.

This is really good piece by Raquel Rosario Sanchez which I don't think I've seen posted:

Allison, you are amazing as you are the one who has got us here - a proper exposé and a ruthless unpicking of this ideology in public. It simply cannot stand up to scrutiny but fuck me, what a long road (and for Maya and for everyone else too) to actually get it scrutinised in public for all to see.

It's amazing. I'm imagining all of us (when we aren't watching/reading through our fingers Wink) punching the air and saying THANK YOU! This is what we have been saying, thank fuck people are actually catching on!

I'm so pleased and tired that I am inarticulate today.

Sorry forgot to quote-tweet 🤦‍♀️
