KM: they are trying to set things up that women are protected bc of their reproductive abilities

Holy fuckwow.

DirtyDuchess · 10/05/2022 19:04

I feel that I should feel elated after this much sunlight but I feel like weeping. How has it been this exhausting a fight with adversaries like that!

But hang on here.

Someone from Stonewall told the world under oath that they completely understood that risk assessments looked at ALL the possibilities.

ALL the possibilities.

So, Stonewall no longer has anything credible to say in regards to female's needs for safeguarding in single sex spaces. Because their Head of Trans Inclusion has showed that SW knows what the process involves.

Sunlight for all.

Not sure how they are going to cover that bit back up again. I mean really.... the organisation has stated they are not denying biological reality (I think KM missed that memo, but hey ho) so they KNOW that transitioned males are males (despite KM's interpretation of that). Therefore, the male crime statistics and the transitioned male crime statistics that support the need for female single sex spaces, including toilets, can no longer be denied by SW.

Brilliant stuff today!

Unless we're getting right down to the brass tacks (which K touched on today several times) that there are things male people may do and must be entitled to which female people are not. On the grounds of them not being of the entitled group. Which, however you try to disguise it and shout 'privilege' a lot, is just plain old discrimination on the basis of sex.

Which would be just boring old male supremacism.

Hm. Pulling back the curtain to reveal ...

Wait, has this whole exercise been some kind of extended and incredibly detailed homage to The Wizard of Oz?

Can I have a whiskey? Think I need it.

I've been trying to keep up with this thread while working and watching the tribunal and giving none my full attention, so apologies if this has already been raised, but my ears pricked up when BC mentioned the Centre Parcs debacle which happened (and which there was a thread on) a few years back.

BC mentioned that Centre Parcs had a policy that only fully transitioned TW could use the female changing rooms and KM said they objected to that because transitioning is a journey and so once you start the process you are trans, there is no 'fully transitioned'. (BC then said that he was merely reading the policy of the place)

I think KM was referring to the PC of Gender Reassignment in the EA and Centre Parcs meant fully transitioned as in surgery to remove/invert the penis, but I wonder whether the tribunal picked up that according to KM, self ID trumps everything else. So a man could just declare himself a transwoman and should be treated in all situations as a woman, regardless of what body is under his clothing. Because KM kept calling TW a sub set of women, whereas they are, of course, a subset of men.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 10/05/2022 19:25

I think then BC tried to push that point with the toilets and KM made a gag that if you see other people's bodies in the toilets then you're using the toilets all wrong. People laughed and that was that.

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/05/2022 19:30

🍺I couldn't find whiskey Jules, but here's a beer.
I think we probably need some kittens for Allison tomorrow🐈

ResisterRex · 10/05/2022 19:32

Thought just occurred to me that one day, this case will have to be taught on law, and HR CPD courses. Complete with cotton ceiling references

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 10/05/2022 19:33

And the fucking terfy terf references?

I hope so. I hope it will be taught as it will be seminal.

ResisterRex · 10/05/2022 19:41

Yes. Imagine putting a PowerPoint together with "suck my girldick" or whatever it was that BC quoted, and presenting it to new starters.

Clangyleg · 10/05/2022 19:45

Great post Pluvia and many thanks to all those commenting and tweeting the proceedings. Totally extraordinary if not unexpected.

CriticalCondition · 10/05/2022 19:51

IO really didn't like BC reading out the delightful entries collated on terfisaslur, did she. He got through quoting only about 6 obscene rape/death/suck my girldick threats before she leapt in to say, basically, we shouldn't have to listen to any more vileness.

Mollyollydolly · 10/05/2022 19:51

Love your post pluvia - sums it up nicely and angrily. What a time to be alive.

notsilverfish · 10/05/2022 19:55

@Pluvia Been catching up with the madness all day whilst on the move; this post stopped me in my tracks and has moved me to tears. You are so right

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 10/05/2022 20:04

Maria Miller, Dawn Butler, Layla Moran, every single one of them should have listened to today and understood just what it is that they have been supporting.

Every senior NHS person who endorses and embeds this, every senior Civil Servant, every high-ranking office-holder in a university, every senior person in the FTSE 100 companies that enforce this SW view of the world as they want it, they should have to explain why they've accepted the influence of SW and its employees.
