Jane Russell is now taking KM to the Morgan Page tweet, the one about the Cotton Ceiling.

Chrysanthemum5 · 10/05/2022 16:46

Ok JR let's go to the cotton ceiling tweet - I imagine the newspapers will enjoy talking about what the cotton ceiling means

nauticant · 10/05/2022 16:46

KM: I didn't like the tweet referring to MP as a male-bodied person and it would have caused distress and upset to MP.

dworky · 10/05/2022 16:46

Chrysanthemum5 · 10/05/2022 16:44

Why is she pushing the idea that KM did lots of research when KM has said he minister research eg didn't read the Times article didn't look at responses to the tweets etc

Desperate to claw back an ounce of credibility.

Pluvia · 10/05/2022 16:46

I do wish this was on video. I want Caroline Nokes and her ilk to see exactly what they're supporting.

I don't think the dry transcript of Tribunal Tweets would make much impression. They are wonderful and I live in eternal gratitude for them, but you need to see him and hear his tone of voice to get the full craziness. A pal of mine also watching just Dmd me and described him as a gender terrorist. He has the irrational fervour of the true believer.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 10/05/2022 16:47

Right so let's all feel sorry for MP and KM now

Pluvia · 10/05/2022 16:47

nauticant · 10/05/2022 16:46

KM: I didn't like the tweet referring to MP as a male-bodied person and it would have caused distress and upset to MP.

She's talking him through this like a primary school teacher and suddenly he's a little compliant boy again, after practically shouting at BC.

Chrysanthemum5 · 10/05/2022 16:48

OMG! Apparently people might read AB's tweets and cause harm but equally all the TERF tweets have no influence on behaviour

nauticant · 10/05/2022 16:49

Jane Russell talking about "coerce", saying that it involves "some sort of force", and that sexual coercion would involve criminal conduct.

KM: That tweet would have led to harmful actions against MP, maybe some kind of attack. It could rouse a hate mob.

ickky · 10/05/2022 16:49

Rouse a hate mob????? 😡

I think we all know who rouses the hate mobs.

This lawyer talks to witnesses like they are 5 years old.

CriticalCondition · 10/05/2022 16:50

A 'Michelle Brewer' has been in the list of observers this afternoon. KM says they have never met. I wonder what Miss Brewer makes of KM and her keenly sought association with Stonewall after this first encounter?

Joanna Cherry QC MP also in the list of observers.

Anyone know if Michelle Brewer is going to be called as a witness?

SelfPortraitWithFoxInSmokingJacket · 10/05/2022 16:52

Fuck this shit. Women who recognise risk are dangerous because everyone who feels scared lashes out. Women who name male violence are whipping up a hate mob.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 10/05/2022 16:52

All the stuff about 'safety'. For goodness sake - what do they think a group of GC women will do? Physically attack them? It's mad.

oviraptor21 · 10/05/2022 16:53

Signalbox · 10/05/2022 16:49

This lawyer talks to witnesses like they are 5 years old.

Indeed. Highly patronising. Surely even KM feels patronised.

Separately,

"This was something you did entirely off your own bat?"

KM "Yes"

Pluvia · 10/05/2022 16:53

KM now saying that when AB used the words 'Young lesbians' in a tweet she was implying that transwomen are paedophiles and that referring to talks abut how to breach the cotton ceiling as coercive was saying it was rape. AH's number 2 saying that this was a dog-whistle tweet which might have roused a lynch-mob against transpeople.

I'm finding it difficult to stomach this. He is being walked through a pre-prepared script where all he has to do is say yes to everything.

SelfPortraitWithFoxInSmokingJacket · 10/05/2022 16:53

Utter DARVO.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 16:54

I really feel for Allison having to listen to this hyperbolic nonsense.

oviraptor21 · 10/05/2022 16:55

I think practically every question is a leading question.
No room for anything other than a yes or no answer.

chilling19 · 10/05/2022 16:55

Not sure this line of questioning is helping Stonewall. Also, it is awful that they are throwing him under the bus like this. I don't have any sympathy with his views, but he is adhering to the line Stonewall gave him. Disgraceful.

CriticalCondition · 10/05/2022 16:55

I don't think KM quite appreciates that Miss Russell is not necessarily on his side.

oviraptor21 · 10/05/2022 16:55

JR is a GCC lawyer

chilling19 · 10/05/2022 16:55

Critical yes I agree
