Surely the next question someone needs to ask him is "What is a cervix?" Could be enlightening to hear the answer.

Say what you like about Emily Thornberry, but she has understood that the objection to the phrase "only women have cervixes" is that trans men also have a cervix. Lammy hasn't grasped this at all, so he thinks it's about trans women having medical procedures to create a cervix. Which would, frankly, be insane. What's the point in having a cervix if you haven't got a uterus?

I was listening to him wittering on about violence against women and all the super-duper things Labour would do to keep women safe. Funny that he hasn't quite made the link between self-id and obliterating the fucking meagre safeguards women currently have. I nearly bit into my coffee mug listening to his hypocrisy. Still, no surprises here from Labour really.

When asked that question about the phrase “only women have a cervix” why do so many politicians bring up transwomen? The sentence has nothing to do with transwomen - the sentence “all women have a cervix” would involve discussions around transwomen.

In the radio 5 interview, David seems to be saying white female constituents aren't entitled to tell him how they feel about their rights because he's black. So we can tell a white MP, right?

Can black women tell him they want single-sex prisons? Or did he forget black women existed when he was setting it up as a white woman vs black man issue?

Please note that he also wants more black men in parliament and affirmative action to get them in there. He has said this. Now I absolutely had no issue with that until today's interview, when I heard that white women weren't allowed to talk about women's rights to black male MPs or black male Shadow Ministers for Justice.

Seems poor value for his wage, right?

When you think of the role a real cervix plays in the protection of the foetus and the birth of a baby, it's such an insult to pretend that men can get one made.

I also wonder if he thinks that a 'neophallus' is a penis. He might well say that he did in public because he'd realise that was the party line. But I sincerely doubt that ANY man would ever actually think that an artificially constructed appendage that had to be pumped up to achieve some resemblance to an erection, couldn't ejaculate, couldn't impregnate a woman, wouldn't experience the same sensations, might well not even be fully functional as something to piss through was in any way the equivalent of their own sex organ.

Yet I really believe that a significant number of men genuinely think that a hole in a body located between the legs that could theoretically be penetrated is pretty much the same thing as female genitalia. Maybe not EXACTLY the same, but pretty much, the details are trivial in their minds. And unless they want a baby they don't give a shit about any other part of that reproductive system, just the hole, that's all that matters. Even then, why ever bother to learn about all the disgusting details like ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervixes, clitorises?
