I had to look pansexual up earlier this week and explain it to my husband, as someone we know has declared themself to be pansexual. DH said “isn’t that just bisexual?” I had to refer him back to the definition, which was an any sex or gender catch all. 🤷‍♂️ I’m still puzzling over why this person needed to tell us boring old married farts. It’s not like we are in their potential dating pool, so no ‘need to know’, and we’re not bothered who they want to love, date or have sex with. That’s a private matter for them, as far as I’m concerned.

The girlfriend is the ex-head of Lib Dem press who faked an email. Then left her job.

Moran is saying she was told the relationship would damage her career, and it's because they are both women OOH PREJUDICE. The Lib Dems honestly couldn't give a shit about that. I rather imagine the reality is that Moran was told her leadership chances might be damaged by defending a person who faked an email and had to leave her job.

I had completely missed it at the time. It amounts to attempted fraud, and was delivered to OpenDemocracy via the LibDem lawyers.
No wonder Layla Moran's new pangenderual partner was suspended. It doesn't say much for Moran's judgement for her to be singing the praises of a relationship with someone who brought the party into such disrepute a mere month ago.

Moran is trying to play a crafty two-hander here - distract from her girlfriend's bizarre track record, and appeal to the younger Lib Dems' insatiable appetite for gender identity immersion.

But she's not that good.

First, it's made me question what role SHE had in Cobb-gate. I wouldn't have thought of pondering that previously.

Second, it's made journalists look her up and they've been reminded of the story of her Flacking her boyfriend in 2013. She's now trying to spin this as being 'More Honest Than Boris', and 'being human', but it's not going to play well out there with the younger crowd for whom she came up with the pansexual label.

I hope the libdems steer well clear. Too much baggage with the ex and the current partner leaving her job. Nothing to do with her sexuality which would be better explained as bi imho
