Layla Moran: Potential Lib Dem leadership candidate becomes first MP to come out as pansexual

Quote: Ms Moran, 37, told PinkNews that she had not previously had same-sex relationships and was “surprised” to find herself attracted to a woman, but added: “Sometimes, when you meet the right person, it just kind of happens.”

She said she was more comfortable with the label “pansexual” than “bisexual” or “gay” because it referred to the idea of love for an individual person for who they are and not their gender or sexual identity.

In my humble opinion, pansexuality is bisexuality for narcissists.

They believe themselves to possess a moral high ground because they see the person before the person’s gender, or some BS.

Well, have I got news for you: there are only two genders.

ButterflyRuns · 06/01/2020 00:30

Just sounds like bisexuality to me but wish her and her partner all the best.

bellinisurge · 06/01/2020 05:56

"pansexuality is bisexuality for narcissists."😂😂😂😂

MollyButton · 06/01/2020 15:55

those lib dems at a local level who think they are doing the right thing.

A lot are doing the right thing at a local level - listening to people, working on local causes. Having local solutions.
Although I do know of one local part in the north (is relevant) who suddenly got emails etc. from a LibDem in the South arguing against their local policies - arguing they should be adopting ones like his local constituency, with zero local knowledge.
It's not just gender issues that some people think they know all the answers and no-one should even ask questions about.

I think Daisy Cooper (St Albans) is definitely 'one to watch' and perhaps someone to approach now with thoughts and ideas about safeguarding. She was (is)a big cheese in Hacked Off. She has supported many other Lib Dem women.

Mockers2020Vision · 06/01/2020 16:31

"pansexuality is bisexuality for narcissists."

I thought wanking was sexuality for narcissists?

slipperywhensparticus · 06/01/2020 16:33

I dont actually give a shit if she would do her job unfortunately it appears that what is inbetween her legs is priority

Be cautious if you approach her:

The linked report goes hard after Janice Turner.

Whenever I see that someone has anything progressive in their personal brand I assume they're going to be anti-GC. It's often a useful assumption.

AutumnCrow · 06/01/2020 18:03

Oh fuck.

Melroses · 06/01/2020 18:22

So hacked off think Janice Turner = hacker Hmm

MollyButton · 06/01/2020 19:31

Daisy might be worth contacting if people can calmly express their concerns especially if you live in St Albans. Just be careful not to come over as rabid as the TRA would like to paint those who are GC. But if she felt there was a lot of support on the issue...
I'm not 100% sure she has drunk the Kool Aid yet.

AutumnCrow · 06/01/2020 19:58

I see Daisy Cooper is the Lib Dem spokesperson for justice and sport amongst other things. So it's reasonable to ask her about those things, especially around safeguarding.I

I do feel concerned about the capture of Hacked Off by Stonewall, though.

Daisy Cooper's wiki page says she ran Jo Swinson's leadership campaign in 2019.

Mockers2020Vision · 06/01/2020 20:17

She ran Jo Swinson's leadership campaign in 2019.

Anyone who can get a pig's bladder on a stick elected party leader clearly has talent.
