Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action

On discovering today that Ocado are continuing to use Primesight after they removed Standing For Women's billboard, thereby showing they have no respect for women or our rights, I have emailed them to tell them that I will no longer shop with them as they support misogyny. I'm just wondering how many others have done the same and hoping this thread gets picked up by twitter and/or the press.

Why Ocado?

Midnight21 · 25/09/2018 22:04

Ocado have just managed to alienate it's target market.Perhaps they don't think that women do the bulk of the grocery shopping.I will not be using them again.Any company who cannot face their customers being "women" does not deserve my money.I wonder who their target demographic is? Oh,that'll be women. The very women whouse mumsnet perhaps..Women who don't take kindly to being effectively erased.Misogyny writ large. They can get knotted

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 25/09/2018 22:06

Have Ocado said they support the billboard's removal?

ImPreCis · 25/09/2018 22:08

Yes, they have. Confirmed on Twitter that as they had removed the board they would now continue to use them.

Yes they spouted some righteous virtue signalling platitudes about "their values" and that as the billboard had been removed they would continue to use PrimeSight.

Ereshkigal · 25/09/2018 22:10

Cross post

PencilsInSpace · 25/09/2018 22:12

I was just coming on to say this sounded tenuous but having seen the screenshots they can fuck right off.

peepholepringle · 25/09/2018 22:13

It does sound tenuous, you almost couldn't make up what's going on at the moment.

MacaroonMama · 25/09/2018 22:14

Right, well I will contact Ocado and let them know we will not be getting any more deliveries from them then.

Such damned virtue-signalling. The sign stated the least controversial thing I have ever ever seen in this whole debate.

Woman = Adult Human Female

Charliethefeminist · 25/09/2018 22:16

Oh my Lord. Have they gone mad? Cancelled.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 25/09/2018 22:16

Cancelled.

AbsintheFriends · 25/09/2018 22:17

Yup. There are a lot of supermarkets offering online delivery. Cheaper too.

Bye Ocado.

MistOnTheWater · 25/09/2018 22:18

Well, Ocado are going to have to get used to a sharp downturn in profits. By their actions they obviously mean that the dictionary definition of Woman is transphophic and not be approved of. Who on earth do they think does most of the food shopping. As yes - that would be those pesky women. The cunty type.

Charliethefeminist · 25/09/2018 22:20

Thank goodness its not Waitrose any more. That would be a tough one.

OnlyObjectivity · 25/09/2018 22:20

On the plus side, it turns out that they are NOT "part" of Waitrose or John Lewis, so you need not feel the need to boycott either of those.

peepholepringle · 25/09/2018 22:22

I'm so pissed off about this. Ocado has been so convenient over the years but they can get stuffed if they think they're getting tens of thousands more of my money than they've already had.

Charliethefeminist · 25/09/2018 22:22

Heaven forfend

Needmoresleep · 25/09/2018 22:22

What arrogance. They use their influence to promote ‘their values’, yet assume that women will continue to shop with them.

All the poster did was provide the standard OED definition for women. Hate speech in Ocado’s eyes. I am assuming the company is run by a man.

OnlyObjectivity · 25/09/2018 22:24

It was co-founded by James Gissing.

Not sure how that's pronounced.

IAmLurkacus · 25/09/2018 22:24

Well they can fuck off. Do Birds Eye do home delivery?

SeaWitchly · 25/09/2018 22:24

I also will not be shopping with Ocado anymore.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 25/09/2018 22:25

I cancelled today and asked that my details be removed from their contact lists. I should get no further comms from them but if I do... (I'm the GDPR person at work).

SeaWitchly · 25/09/2018 22:25

Should this also perhaps be in AIBU for a wider audience?

redshoeblueshoe · 25/09/2018 22:26

I'll make them a new sign
WOMEN - adult females who order all the food
