Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action

On discovering today that Ocado are continuing to use Primesight after they removed Standing For Women's billboard, thereby showing they have no respect for women or our rights, I have emailed them to tell them that I will no longer shop with them as they support misogyny. I'm just wondering how many others have done the same and hoping this thread gets picked up by twitter and/or the press.

Yep I'm in.

We can still buy direct from a physical Waitrose, right.

Juells · 25/09/2018 22:28

Unbelievable that they're so keen to jump in and let everyone know how righteous they are, when it's their main customers they're pissing off.

StealthNinjaMum · 25/09/2018 22:30

I have just written an email to the [email protected] email address but I am going to look for a PR or Chief Exec email.

My iPad / wifi is conspiring to not let me send the email but when it works I will send it. I never fucking complain and now I will. I can use my email as a template to complain to Primesight and any other company who pisses me off.

RoseAndRose · 25/09/2018 22:31

Can I ask again, why Ocado?

Did they have a billboard on one of their sites?

Because I don't think they're a major partner for Primesight (like say BT) or one of their biggest users (like SKY), so I was wondering what about Ocado is singling it out for boycott compared to all the other clients (assuming here they are client)

AbsintheFriends · 25/09/2018 22:32

redshoeblueshoe I'd bloody love to see that. If you're on twitter, please put it to them Grin

Catsize · 25/09/2018 22:32

Sorry for being thick, but what's Primesight? (Daren't google!)

AncientLights · 25/09/2018 22:34

I've never used them but emailed them making it sound like I had been considering them until this virtue-signalling outrage. They can fuck themselves before they get a penny out of me.

redshoeblueshoe · 25/09/2018 22:34

I'm not, so please feel free to use it

MistOnTheWater · 25/09/2018 22:35

They're the billboard company who hire out (is that the right term?) billboards for adverts etc. They're taking down the billboard saying the dictionary definition of woman as adult human feeling because it's transphobic.

MistOnTheWater · 25/09/2018 22:37

Adult human feeling DOH I mean adult human female. Wouldn't be transphobic if is was about the feels.

RoseAndRose · 25/09/2018 22:37

Yes, and what is the link between Ocado and Primesight, and what is unique/unusual/special about that link to make Ocado a target for boycott?

Catsize · 25/09/2018 22:37

Thanks Mist. 🤗

IAmLurkacus · 25/09/2018 22:39

So is Lord Rose also responsible for M and S and Arcadia’s shitty changing room policies?

Turph · 25/09/2018 22:40

RoseAndRose Ocado have taken a political view on the controversial fact that women are adult human females. See previous post by peepholepringle

Laniakea · 25/09/2018 22:42

I've cancelled our smart pass & told them I won't shop with such a blatantly misogynistic company. As an adult human female with a big family I spend thousands with them every year. No more.

gendercritter · 25/09/2018 22:43

It feels like a very strange day indeed when stating a biological truth is so grossly offensive and wrong

RoseAndRose · 25/09/2018 22:45

Yes. I've seen that post, and visited Twitter.

It still doesn't explain 'why Ocado?'

Have all companies that use Primesight had the same question asked, and have they all given different/better answers?

And what about BT? (And probably other businesses) that are actually partners, not just clients (no one seems to be saying Ocado is anything other than one of many clients)

AssassinatedBeauty · 25/09/2018 22:46

Totally agree, gendercritter. I don't use Ocado, and definitely won't now.

MistOnTheWater · 25/09/2018 22:46

Obvs Ocado think that adult human females are offensive. Same values as Primesight. Who obvs agree with TRA's.

Needmoresleep · 25/09/2018 22:49

None of the others appear to be boasting of using their influence to get the billboard taken down. Nor stating that the definition of woman as an adult human female goes against their values.

The billboard was taken down, so someone was using their clout. It is reasonable to believe, given they have publicised it, that this was Ocado.

bzzbeebzz · 25/09/2018 22:49

I spend over £250 a week with them.
They can fuck right off.

Needmoresleep · 25/09/2018 22:50

It is also reasonable that people will not want to support a brand, that does not value women.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 25/09/2018 22:51

Who's got the boycot spreadsheet?

AbsintheFriends · 25/09/2018 22:52

RoseandRose Ocado were challenged by a TRA on Twitter. They said that because Primesight had removed the poster, they would continue to work with them because they only work with companies who are 'in line with their values' or somesuch. Screenshots are upthread.

I'm not aware that other companies have been directly challenged and therefore revealed an anti-adult human female position.
