A woman is an adult female human

Of the sex whose reproductive role is to gestate and bear young.

Let's just say this while we still can. Because it's true, and however many people try to make us lie about it, or remain silent, it will always be true.

In times of universal deceit, speaking the truth is a revolutionary act.

It hurts MY feelings to see 'transwomen are women'. It damages MY mental health to see that, it makes ME feel erased and MY identity feel destroyed. I have a voice and I deserve that voice. WE deserve it.

I am Spartacus. A woman is an adult female human. Sex is binary, immutable and defined by reproductive role.

If you report me, or get me banned you shoot the messenger. Because this is true and will always be true. And this day, this day of a lie, I WILL say it.

#Spartacus

wtf is the difference between a woman and a cis woman???

In reality - gender critical women vs those females who want to define themselves in terms of 'gender identity '. What the bearers of that poster meant by it, who knows.

Ereshkigal · 03/07/2018 16:51

Well I read it as PISS OFF. We only talk to women who have been on here for years, and do not trust you. so hey ho so be it.

@superbstarling it's not snobby elitism. It's about the kind of shit that happens to women when they speak out. Of course people are wary.

AtreidesFreeWoman · 03/07/2018 16:51

If I go into hospital I bloody well hope the medical professionals treating me know the differences between biology and language.

Language is important.

I am a Woman - it's not a "concept" ripe for reinvention - it's a fact.

I should be able state that freely as many times as I want.

EmpressOfSpartacus · 03/07/2018 16:57

A c*s woman is one who embraces hierarchical gender stereotypes & always puts males first. The Gileadan ideal.

Some prominent TRAs expressed shock on realising that not all women shaved and the MN boards weren't full of discussions on prams & recipe-swapping. You get the idea.

R0wantrees · 03/07/2018 16:58

I have only posted for a few months.

I lurked beforehand much like the posters on the thread and read a lot away from here.

There's a great deal of generosity on this board.

Women are adult human females.

I'm sorry about that, @superbstarling. It's honestly not meant to be an insult. I've been at all this for about 4 years now & still have to provide links to my GC posting history if I want to join a new group. The problem is that a lot of us have been burned once too often.

Please, keep posting on MN. Follow GC women on Twitter. Go to an event if you can - they're all good ways to start meeting people & making contacts.

Words are weaponised?

Good lord talk about hyperbole

superbstarling · 03/07/2018 17:10

I also lurked before posting, but to be shouted at for asking for information that others had also asked for was not generous. I understand people are wary at the moment but i discovered i hadn't opened my profile to public, i corrected this and asked for the info again.
I will be careful in the future not to offend.

Sex is an immutable concept. It is material, fixed.

Gender is a mutable concept. It is ethereal, in flux.

You can’t have the cis-trans model of organic chemistry applied to incompatible concepts. It is for describing spatial, physical relationships only. Hence it can be applied to geographical topography say, but not ideas in the social sciences.

When you try to elide two incompatible concepts for the purposes of policy and legislation, you get muddy laws that are at best useless, at worst downright dangerous and unjust.

“sex” and “gender presentation” must be kept as entirely separate concepts for the purposes of law.

It must be recognised that women are oppressed because of our reproductive biology, whilst also protecting people from discrimination who present themselves in non-conventional ways traditionally expected of their sex. It would protect trans-people and eg women receptionists who don’t wish to wear high heels, alike. Smash, not swap, the boxes of gender expectations.

Gender isn’t innate, it’s societally imposed. And from the point of view of women, it’s a jackboot on the neck keeping us meek, compliant and submissive. I rise up again that boot… a woman is an adult human female. I will not be redefined by the very system used to subjugate me.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/07/2018 17:12

I've only ever seen that words being weaponized phrasing before from fairly extreme trans activists, so seeing it from a mod is a bit worrying. That's not indicating of a neutral perspective at all.

LangCleg · 03/07/2018 17:14

I hate to say this, but getting aggressive and angry because you're not immediately trusted is not going to get you an invitation. It's going to make people think that you are quick to take offence and fly off the handle if you don't get what you want, when you want it. This very thing has got women doxxed and abused.

Instead of this, why not wait a few weeks and build up some kind of positive reputation with others? Because if you don't have one already, getting angry at women trying to protect themselves is only going to get you a negative one.

OvaHere · 03/07/2018 17:15

@pissedonatrain

Given that it was transactivists holding the banner I understand it was them claiming the word women for those with an XY chromosome.

superbstarling · 03/07/2018 17:15

I don't do twitter, facebook etc. But thank you for the explanation, and a big thank you to the person who PM'd me when she realised how upset I was. She did not give any secret information just sympathy. You know who you are, I won't name you just in case.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 03/07/2018 17:16

@MNHQ are complicit with abusers and their enablers when you see women having boundaries, showing solidarity and being reassured by truth and mistake it for inciting hatred or being mean. It is gaslighting to even hint at such a thing.

Thank you, Seafret.

TWAW is not an argument, a philosophy or an explanation. It is a bald and entirely unfounded assertion.

superbstarling · 03/07/2018 17:17

I wasn't angry, I was upset. The person that shouted at me was angry.

Pratchet · 03/07/2018 17:17

I think we must all on whatever forum realise that we will eventually be infiltrated, and it's just a matter of when.

OP posts:
iismum · 03/07/2018 17:18

Haven't had a chance to RTFT but am shocked and distressed by MNHQ response. When the new regulations came in I was fairly dismayed but MNHQ seem to be consistently going beyond those to crack down even more on any discussion about female biology.

For what it's worth, I think some/most at MNHQ understand what we are doing and why it's so important but they're terrified of advertisers pulling out and losing funding and are prepared to throw us under a bus to avoid that.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 03/07/2018 17:19

I am so very shocked and saddened by MNHQ's stance on this. And they don't seem to have registered that if they keep pattering along with the transactivist agenda they soon won't have a site for women and their pesky female biology at all.

littlbrowndog · 03/07/2018 17:19

Sweet all good now I hope superb. Wine

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 03/07/2018 17:20

Regarding advertisers, we're going to have to start contacting them. En masse.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 03/07/2018 17:20

Sticks and stones may break my bones...but words may actually kill me Sad

Pratchet · 03/07/2018 17:20

Y Prawn all appeasers have previously been destroyed

OP posts:
AngryAttackKittens · 03/07/2018 17:21

Far from being left alone appeasers tend to be targeted more fiercely.
