Woke up yesterday to a nawing pain where my knickers sit on my right leg. Thought oh I'm just getting fat and need bigger knickers.

Today I woke up feeling like shit. I can barely move my leg. It's agongy I cannot walk to see this monsteristy. There is a larged raised redness around it. I cannot get to the GP i have a meeting in the morning I cannot miss.
I feel really shit, keep getting cold as well. I thought infected hair folicie but it looks worse. Would show the large red patch around it but I'm embarrassed enough showing this. Please help 😭

You must call the GP, especially as its painful, red and you feel cold. It sounds like an infection, which needs treatment, please call them. Have you been bitten by something or suffer with any other health problems. Are you on any medication? It could be an infection, bite or something like a clot, the meeting can wait.

No I can't get to a pharmacist i can't drive like this, I can't even walk 😭 any other day id take myself off to the walk in but i cannot miss this meeting in the morning ive been waiting years for it.

Please call 111. I know someone who had sepsis that started like this from an infected hair follicle at her groin. Call them now.

You need medical attention today if it is as big as your palm. I don't know what facilities they have in your area but either go to walk in, A and E or phone 111.

Yeah, you need to get that checked pronto. Sounds like you have an infection if you’re not feeling great. Looks like an abscess to me.

When you speak to them make sure you mention the speed of progression, your feeling cold (are you shivering?) and the fact that it’s preventing you from moving. I hate to scaremonger but someone has also mentioned sepsis which is a real and genuine concern. Is there any smell with it?o

Please go and see your gp. I had something similar a few weeks ago. Came on overnight, got worse over a couple of days before I finally went to the gp who sent me straight to emergency gynae care at the local hospital. I was given antibiotics but what really helped was hot baths/flannels and magnesium sulphate paste to draw out the pus 🤢
Took a good couple of weeks before it really felt better but I didn’t feel ill at all or have a temp. You really need to get checked out asap.

Abscess isn't gonna turn septic is it from now till 10.30am is it? I can't doing my meeting over my phone otherwise I would go. Ive just drawn around the red patch gonna monitor it for a hour. I feel so dead on my feet.

No. Im avoiding hospital as I know i will miss the meeting its for my sons autism assessment for the parental interview.
Im not allowed to do it via phone and its to late to post phone. I need to be at that meeting. Also I have two disabled children I can't just leave them.

Exactly and @deadembarrased you’re not a doctor (you wouldn’t be on here asking these questions if you were) so don’t assume you know the answers. We are here with life experience saying call 111 immediately due to the very present and real risk of sepsis given your symptoms. Let them decide if there’s an overnight risk or not.
