Who SHOULD have been Sirius?

I was torn with putting this in film or books, but went with books because that is where the description was...

Was discussing with friends over the weekend that Gary Oldman (as good as he is) just doesn't have the appeal that we felt Sirius had in the book... I can't quite work out who I would have preferred though.

Suggestions?

Depends whose point of view it's done from at the time I would think.

They flew to the ministry on them didn't they. Suspect there will be funny scene of people clinging on to nothing with eyes shut.

The girl playing Luna has really bee thrown in hasn't she, from not in at all to one of the main characters and on the posters

Hugh Grant should have been Lockhart
Colin Farrell should have been Sirius
Cilian Murphy should have been Lupin, though maybe not old enough.

Lol, MrsW, but you do see Harry from under the cloak when it's from his POV.

I think the Irish King Stephen from Braveheart would've been a good Sirius. He does the crazy edge really well too.
Remember him.. Tho I think Oldman does the looney laughing really well

BoM, I think that JK Rowling had a say on the scripts and told them what bits could be missed out without being detrimental to the plot. Although how she did it without telling them the whole story I don't know!

I'm still going with my decision of Rufus as Sirius, although Dumbledoresgirl was right, it's not the best picture of him.

I also think Gerry Butler should be in it

He can be mean aka Knight's Tale, and a bit smouldering, but Sirius is supposed to be a bit of a player.

I knew she had some say so that makes sense. And good for her.

I wish Anne McCaffrey would sell the film rights for The DragonRider's of Pern, but I don't think she wants them messing up.
She should let Peter Jackson do them.
They could do such a good job now.
