Who SHOULD have been Sirius?

I was torn with putting this in film or books, but went with books because that is where the description was...

Was discussing with friends over the weekend that Gary Oldman (as good as he is) just doesn't have the appeal that we felt Sirius had in the book... I can't quite work out who I would have preferred though.

Suggestions?

No Sean Bean is too damn sexy. I don't think Lupin is supposed to be sexy.

in LOTR i thought orlando bloom as a blond elf was the seriously sexy one

casbie - I liked the blonde wig, hence my like of Luscious Malfoy. it's definately the blonde hair. I'm not so keen on jason isaacs in RL.

Ooh I think Jason Isaacs is quite sexy in rl. Have you seen Brotherhood.
I also think Ewan might be able to pull off Lupin. He's quite crinkly round the eyes. But if he can't be sexy then not, as I think Ewan IS rather sexy.

GTG, damn it. Will think hard on it. Love discussions like this. Must say can't at all fault the casting of LOTR tho. Think Peter did a spectacular job. Flawless casting. Obvious he was a total fan.

Also the guy who plays Malfoy's dad is gorgeous with lovely twinkly eyes (did anyone see him as Mark in The State Within?) but he's so good as Lucius Malfoy don't think he could play anything else.

I thought she was beautiful as Arwen and did the Elven really well. Thought she was wonderful with Aragorn, lucky cow. At Liv kissing Aragorn. He was gorgeous as Aragorn but not so sexy in rl.

Lucuis Malfoy is the only blonde I have ever fancied. I really fancy snape too. Does anyone know if they have Kreacher the house elf in the OOP film? not having them in GOF was a real oversight.

Oh - I don;t fancy house elves though!

Agree with everything said about dumbledore. MG bless him doesn't quite do it does he.

Sirius is supposed to be good looking although rough.Didn't mind Oldman though he's not good looking really.
As Dumbledore agree with the fact that the newer one not right.Should have been Sir Ian Mckellan or at the least Patrick Stewart.His voice would have been perfect especially.Think the newer Dumbledore hasn't got some of the quieter pieces right.His voice is not right altogether actually.
Orlando Bloom was not tsappy looking in Pirates.He looked gorgeous(mind you have always had a thing about the whole pirate look )

she is so stage school she's practically a cut-out.

grrrrr, hermione is supposed to be a plain, clever and quick and sometimes haughty. screen hermione is just lets down the entire female audience with the sweeping hair flicks!

can you tell i really hate her and my dd would be perfect?!

Hermione annoys me too, but I think it's the way Emma Watson plays her. Every time she speaks she seems to pause mid sentence, like she's gasping, and I find it irritating.

BACK, no more ideas about Lupin tho

Don't agree about Liv being wooden. But do agree about Hermione. Tho she is supposed to be pretty after her teeth are fixed and she dolls up for the ball with Krum. They just didn't make her plain enough to start with. Altho in the 1st she was quite plain. She's just grown up VERY pretty.
