Who SHOULD have been Sirius?

I was torn with putting this in film or books, but went with books because that is where the description was...

Was discussing with friends over the weekend that Gary Oldman (as good as he is) just doesn't have the appeal that we felt Sirius had in the book... I can't quite work out who I would have preferred though.

Suggestions?

Oooohhhh - very good choice imo! Very brooding.....would shag 'im!!

Caligula · 25/04/2007 23:03

Ha, mildmanneredjanitor you are a woman who is extremely useful to other women. You like all the ugly gimmers like Christopher Ecclestone and don't like any of the swoonworthy gorgeous ones. There is no conflict with you. Marvellous. Let's go clubbing together.

MrsWho · 25/04/2007 23:04

Yes Richard Armitridge would have been good, have just added him on the MN hunky men thread too!

Nikki76 · 25/04/2007 23:05

How have I not seen him before???!

MrsWho · 25/04/2007 23:09

tonks

Nikki76 · 25/04/2007 23:11

I expected her to be fatter for some reason....

BandofMothers · 25/04/2007 23:12

Isn't Tonks supposed to be short and a bit tubby?????

millie99 · 25/04/2007 23:14

sure I read somewhere that Hugh Grant was approached to be Lockhart but turned it down so they went for Ken

Caligula · 25/04/2007 23:18

ooh, hugh grant is too old and raddled to be handsome old wotsisname.

MrsWho · 25/04/2007 23:18

Hugh Grant would have been good as the posing/not very bright type

umbridge

[grr] janitor.

What about DT for Sirius? He has the skinny thing going on ,with s cruffy beard , could have been in Azkaban ?

Can't find better pic of Bellatrix or one of Mrs Figg

BandofMothers · 25/04/2007 23:59

Janitor, OMG she would've been perfect as Umbridge.

Flamesparrow · 26/04/2007 07:49

I'm still on the Rufus suggestion for Sirius... with a possible acceptance of Guy of Gisborn (but not entirely sure).

I love CE, but not as Sirius.

DT - NO

Johnny Depp, as much as I love him, is all wrong.

Still sulking bout the lack of moony wormtail etc explanation

bit of a fuzzy one - pic of HBCarter as Bellatrix.

clicky

persephonesnape · 26/04/2007 08:32

and a less fuzzy one - click i think she'll be great.

MrsWho · 26/04/2007 09:42

Apparantly there is a lot about the Black tapestry in this one and Kreacher so they must be important to the last book.

And Kreacher looks like an eveil Dobby

In the trailer you can see the Thestrals but I think they should have been invisible.

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 09:42

I think she'll be fantastic. She does Quirky, very well.

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 09:44

They're not invisible anymore tho are they???

Hmmmmm, Kreacher is ahouse elf too, does he look just like Dobby??

Wouldn't it be amusing if they left out something ffrom the first films that will be important for the last book.

Still can't believe she killed off Dumbleydorrrrrrrrrre.

MrsWho · 26/04/2007 09:51

BUt they were invisible to most people in the 5th book
