Morning all, well ive weighed myself this morning and i want at least 9lb off by christmas. that will take me nicely into the next stone and will feel like an acievement by the time bubs is 6 months. im hoping that in the meantime my braincells will refire and i will get further but minimum 9lbs which is definately achievable.

thanks for the tips about Whitby Ria, not sure the cake one is useful but sounds like fun! meeting at some point would be lovely, i know very little about the town so its gonna take a while to get everything figured out. having googled it we will just be in for the goth weekend, never heard of it before and the website is rubbish but looks interesting!

ive forgotten anything else i was going to reply to from the last thread sorry! good luck everyone, 3 months will fly past

kristinaRIAnoff · 24/09/2009 09:54

morning all

just had a big SW breakfast and I feel sick now. Good start to the day

If you think of anything you want to know wormy I can try and find out for you if I don't know. I'm not 100% sure of everything "Whitby", but we usually visit 3/4 times a year (and have done forever) so I'm familiar with it a bit. Goth weekend is brilliant.

Good luck everyone!!!

Morning everyone.

I think realistically my "diet" will start on Monday because tomorrow is takeaway day (which, shock horror, i'm getting bored of! ) and then saturday is curry night. Add in all the booze that goes with it, plus all the "something nice" (that's chocolate to you and me) that i'll probably indulge in and it'll be a pretty poor dieting weekend! Will start again on Monday tho.

I have cancelled my WW membership again because there's no point in me having it if i'm not doing it. Plus all the WW food tastes awful so i think i will just stick to healthy eating and bags of exercise - might chuck the odd calorie counting day in there now and then - and then see how i go.

deafworm · 24/09/2009 12:02

has your book arrived yet RG? in theory you should be able to get through the weekend fine even on those foods as long as you can follow the rules. im doing pretty well on them now, time will tell if its working but i have to admit to failing misserably at not just shovelling in the takeaway pizza a few nights ago! i dont seem to be snacking as much now because im eating when im hungry and i feel much more in tune with whether im eating for comfort or actually hungry.

thanks RIA i will remember that, at the moment im looking forward to getting there and having a good old nosey round

RGPargy · 24/09/2009 12:39

Yes, the book arrived yesterday Wormy. Haven't had a chance to even read it yet, although i have picked it up and flicked the pages from front to back, haha! I'll have a look at the weekend.

kristinaRIAnoff · 24/09/2009 13:22

I can feel the weekend calling me already! Maybe I should get out my CD too. Would like to do something nice with the boys one day, and DS1 still hasn't had that chinese (not that I fancy one really)

OP posts:
RGPargy · 25/09/2009 10:29

Pizza night tonight (yawn). I told DP last night that i fancied some salad (yes, really! ). It cant just be any old salad tho, it has to be a home made (by me) salad so that it's just the way i like it. I'm hankering after a cheese salad for some reason........

Finally got a new car yesterday too! woohoo!! We've got a little Golf GTI which we pick up on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

kristinaRIAnoff · 25/09/2009 11:47

RG - salad???

feeling really low today (TOM also). Been out to the Macmillan coffee morning, DS3 has come home upset because DH had gone to work, and granny and grandad have gone on holiday and DS3 wouldn't give them a kiss when weleft their house afetr the coffee morning, and now he wants to kiss granny

I think the boys are having friends over for tea, so pizza for them, and we're having an easy weekend, with hopefully a picnic.

i didn't get off to a very good start did I?

OP posts:
RGPargy · 25/09/2009 12:18

I know Ria!! I dont know what's come over me!

Sorry you're feeling down today Bless DS3 wanting to kiss his granny, they can be so sweet cant they. I'm sure he'll get over it soon enough

A picnic sounds nice! Hope the weather holds out for you.

grinningbee · 28/09/2009 12:09

Afternoon

Not too bad a weekend here, although we did have Sunday dinner with my folks, and it was a roast dinner with apple pie and custard for pud

Still, that was the only naughty thing really.

I am so close to getting under the 200 pound mark it's nail biting! I'll be so chuffed if I can do it for this weeks weigh in. As we have the weekend away I'll go for a maintain next week if I can. I've had weetabix, a banana and a yogurt so far today.

How's everyone else doing?

ameRIAcansmooth · 28/09/2009 12:48

hi bee. lunch sounds lovely, I have cooking apples and am going to make pie and custard fot the boys (even though DS1 really wants bread and butter pudding)

Had a great weekend, ate the tiny little bit that was left of the boys chinese last night, thinking DH and I would get just one main when he got in from work and share it, but he didn't want to, so that was my tea out the window. Lots of walking yesterday, the weather has been fab. Hope next weekend is as good.

Was doing OK today, but DH has pissed me off so much I have had some of the delectable Whitby gingerbread I mentioned (they sell it in the forestry gift shop) and I intend to buy chocolate later. I wasn't going to have any wine, but now I fell like why the hell shouldn't I if I'm going to be on my own with the boys until Wednesday evening? (It is DHs days off, but he is going away)

RGPargy · 28/09/2009 22:37

Evening all!

Bee - dinner sounds loooovely!! Except for the apple pie - i'm not a fan of cooked apples Hope you manage to get to your mini-target! How exciting seeing the numbers going down!!

Ria - Glad you had a good weekend. Sorry that you have been pissed off by DH. I know it's easier said than done but those of us who are emotional eaters should really find a way to not eat bad stuff when someone upsets us!

I went to the gym yesterday morning and again tonight. I'm hoping that this is the start of my avid gym going addiction lol.

ameRIAcansmooth · 28/09/2009 22:54

blimey, twice in one day- are you becoming a Gym bunny??? well done. I am avoiding the exercise bike as I have had chronic back pain and am scared of making it worse

Re the emotional eating, I feel so crap tonight that I think I will talk to my MHN about it at my next appointment. I know it's hurting no one but me, and I haven't even got any comfort out of it tonight, I just feel sick and pissed off. I feel this week may go badly as as well as feeling like shit because of this I am tired and emotional and just can't be bothered. ANd have all on trying to be outwardly OK so the boys don't pick up on the fact that I think their Dad is a wanker

ConnieComplaint · 28/09/2009 23:14

Hey Ria - sorry, this has nothing to do with how you feel, but your last line reminded me of something my nephew said to my sister last week... hopefully it makes you smile

My sister & her DH sometimes have 'words' (code speak for blazing rows) and she gives him the silent treatment, often for days... She reckoned the boys didn't know what was going on as they weren't actually arguing...just pointedly ignoring each other.

Anyway - it was BIL's 40th b'day & my sis was arranging a surprise party for him.. she told the boys she was asking all their family, some work mates and their dad's friends.... her middle boy, B, who is 6 stopped what he was doing (taking a roller skate apart so his older brother would break his neck if you really have to know... ) looked at sis & said, "Hah... friends? Daddy hasn't got any friends..sure half times you're not even his friend!!"

Classic - from the mouths of babes!

RGPargy · 28/09/2009 23:14

Oh god no, Ria. Not twice in one day!! Once is bad enough! I was meant to go this morning but didn't so went tonight instead.

Sorry you have having a tough time at the moment. Dont be too hard on yourself tho - when you dont get on with your DP/DH it can be very very draining on anyone's emotional state!!

ameRIAcansmooth · 28/09/2009 23:22

LOL connie. I think DS1 probably has an idea (the other week when it was like this he stayed up til very late, in my bed withthe other 2, talking to me.) My Dsis uses that "mouths of babes" saying a lot too (but IMO that is because she and her DH give their DCs way too much information on many things, who then repeat it to our parents other adults who feel children don't need to know quite so much!

sorry RG, must have mis-read something somewhere! good for you though anyhow

ameRIAcansmooth · 28/09/2009 23:27

oops, re-read RG, sorry

connie - donthcha just have to love brothers. That is the kind of thing DS2 would do. DS3 likes to sing the Clive Dunn "Grandad" song (DS1 is an avid Dads Army fan and DH showed him the song on youtube. DS3 - being a grandads boy - took it to heart and knows is better than any nursery rhyme), DS2 sings "DS1, we hate you..." to the tune. I always thought DS2 was quite cute and loving (being 5). Now he's in year 1 I'm not so sure

grinningbee · 30/09/2009 11:11

The Grandad song reminded me of the "Grandma we love you" record from many moons ago...

I missed the mini target by half a pound but I reckon that's down to water retention as it's star week again (boy am I loving these periods every other week).

2lb off this week, making a rolling total of 5.5lb towards the stone off by Xmas.

I may take next week as a holiday week due to being away for a few days. Looks from the weather forecast as though we'll be stuck indoors which will be fun... eeeeek! I will try to resist the lure of dairy milk while stuck in a tin box with mil

ameRIAcansmooth · 30/09/2009 11:39

I like the bit of that song "there's no-one quite like Grandma" (Grandma being MIL) makes me chuckle every time

well done for only being a tiny bit off the mini target, half a pound is hardly nothing, so you're there in my eyes. extra periods are a pain.

RGPargy · 30/09/2009 19:58

Well done Bee!! As Ria said, it's only half a pound so hardly worth worrying about!

Haven't been to the gym for the last two days - DD is teething (terribly!) and is soooo clingy that there's no way i can even think about putting her in the creche with all her snot pouring out of her nose! Nice vision, eh?

Started the week off being good but as the week has worn on and DD has worn me down, i've relented and started to nibble on the choccie buttons . I was so chuffed with myself for going to the gym on Sunday morning and Monday night too. Oh well, what can i do? Hopefully the teething wont last for very much longer. I hope note anyway as she is very draining on the soul at the moment!

deafworm · 01/10/2009 09:37

well done bee, thats a great loss.

well i weighed this morning and have put one on but i havent been anywhere for the last 2 days and we had takeaway pizza for tea last night as id just had enough of everything needing to be done so didnt really expect a good weigh in. getting on quite well with the rules most of the time but some days, like last night theyre going out of the window, ridiculous really as they make so much sense and should be simple.

grinningbee · 02/10/2009 07:04

Thanks ladies

Sadly I seemed to have sabotaged myself last night in that I drank wine and consumed a large amount of pre-holiday chocolate... why did I do that!?!

Anyway, just wanted to say ta ta for a few days while I go off to the coast with dd, dh and the mil. Ah, that'd explain the chocolate then!

Tis like trying to organise a major expedition here at the mo, but am just having a cuppa.

Good luck over the weekend, and I'll check in when I return, should we all survive it! Dh wants me to pack black bin bags, tape and a shovel...

ameRIAcansmooth · 02/10/2009 10:38

LOL Bee have a great time. Can you not "lose" her in a bingo arcade and sneak off to the chippy or something.

I have sabotaged myself generally.

I have a stinking cold now so am feeling sorry for myself

RGPargy · 05/10/2009 21:49

Hi everyone!

What's going on? No chat for 3 days??!!

Just got back from the gym. LOVE it!! I'm going 4 times a week now if i can. On a Sunday morning and Monday night i go to a step class that is taught by an old instructor that i used to have YEARS ago (back when i was slim and fit ) and so it's almost like going back in time when i do his classes. All i need now is the slim body and long curly hair and i'll be back in 1997!!

hope everyone is well!!

GrimRIAper · 05/10/2009 22:29

FAT FAT FAT here.

went to Dsis's yesterday for lunch (DMs birthday) and my stomach hasn't recovered yet. I didn't think I ate that much, but I suppose it was all rich stuff (steak, roast potatoes, sausages, burgers - though I shared a sausage with DM as neither of us really like them - a gorgeous rice salad that I found out after had mayo in it... salad stuffs, coleslaw etc etc, then apple pie with custard and extra thick cream, and lotsof wine and nibbles andchocolate nibbles) I feel sick reading that back TBH,a nd I have had a "food hangover" all day. (serves me right obviously, though I partially blame Dsis and BIL for - a) not knowing what "just half a glass" means and also b) putting on so much lovely food when we are conditioned to try a bit of everything out of politeness!)

I have another days worth of non-diet food to shift from the fridge (I have no idea why I bought spicy chicken puzza for the kids when they don't like it, other than I have become very vague under pressure in the supermarket) and then I'm back to it, and boy am I looking forward to it.

well done on the gym RG. I noticed in the local paper tonight that there are salsa classes starting soon. I may go if it fits in with DH. £3 a week is less than a bottle of wine and more fun (if my back holds out)
